I booked onto my NHS antenatal classes via the hospital rather than midwife, might be worth having a look on there?

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 10:04

@RasperryInAMelon this was sent to me the other day and I was like NO THANKYOU

coxsorangepippin · 25/03/2017 10:04

I kind of like the photos - but I cannot imagine having a photographer there, feeling like a performance!

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 10:05

@jennymac31 here where I live there are 2 classes, and my midwife told me it would be pointless as "I'm a nurse so I'll know it anyways"

HmmHmmHmm

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 10:12

@jennymac31 oops pressed post too soon. I love Clemmie Hooper but I can't stand her husband. I've blocked him on instagram. I have no idea why he gets on my nerves, he just does! She comes across as so lovely and a credit to midwives. I need to pick up her book. Hurrah for Gin is hilarious and both DH & I have enjoyed reading the book.

@RasperryInAMelon oh my god I'd been furious. Some men shoved me out the way yesterday in a queue and DH was very protective, but they just responded with a grunt. I'm usually absolutely fine but I feel like protective and scared. I dread to think when I have him here what I'll be like. Chair twins! I'm going to start scrubbing it today after I've put away all the shopping in the world.

Managed to get the Bump cream by Cussons; £7 something in boots. Smells lovely so I can't wait to try it! I got some Bump&Me shampoo for £1 as well, my hair is so curly and bonkers ATM so hopefully this might settle it.

Also spotted these in Boots. I was a graphic designer Jr before a nurse and I'm such a sucker for packaging... how cute are these? Im going back to Boots later as the baby grows I've ordered have arrived, so I'll have a sniff to see if it's as strong as Dove.

Those dove baby products look amazing! I love the smell of dove so would be a total sucker for them if they smelt the same.

Baby was lying breech up until 32 weeks but just broken out my Doppler as I felt her movements where different and husband said this morning my bump looked different and I have her heartbeat just above the pubic line so hoping this means she is behaving and is now head down! Shouldn't I have felt her turning though?? Shock

Hope everyone has some nice weather today like we do in NI!!

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 10:54

@Nurse15 I'll report back! I didn't see it last week and it looks so cute. I wish I could figure out how baby is lying, I'm going to ask the midwife on Tuesday to show me.

I'm about to start cleaning after this episode of Law and Order. I was going to go swimming but I think yesterday has worn me out. Im done for today!

MrsJW15 · 25/03/2017 11:20

We are big GoT fans! We did briefly consider Arya as a name...

I was pretty uncomfortable yesterday but hoping it's partly tiredness and that a long lie in and restful morning will help.

Off to Westfield this afternoon to pick up some Primark bits and a Sleepyhead. Also will go to Boots, might look at that Dove stuff Nurse. Was hoping to have most of the hospital bag sorted but an H&M delivery got stolen from my doorstep Angry yesterday so hoping they'll send that again.

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 11:31

@MrsJW15 STOLEN!?? Oh my god that's awful! I'm so sorry! Are H&M doing anything about it?

I went to Primark yesterday and got some Minnie Mouse PJs for hospital with a button down front ready for BF Grin Superdrug have 3 for £3 on mini Shampoos, toothpaste etc so I stocked up on that. Our bag is packed, just need to do the husbands which will essentially be... actually I don't know. He just wants to bring his own bag.

This branch of Boots didn't have much of a baby Dove selection, but we have another up the road. I might treat Bub early!

MrsJW15 · 25/03/2017 11:49

Hopefully Nurse. The courier lied and said they'd put it through the post box so hopefully H&M will resend it all.

When we started talking about hospital bags, DHs first suggestion was a pillow for him! I said I thought baby and I might need some things too!

MissMooMoo · 25/03/2017 12:11

Finally caught up on all the posts I have missed!
Hopefully everyone who is feeling unwell is now feeling better.
Whoever asked about feeling bigger at 30 v 34 weeks...I am 32+3 and already feel much bigger than I did at 30 weeks! Even DH has commented on how rapidly the bump is growing now.

Those Dove products look cute. DH works for the advertising company that Dove is a client of and he often brings home all kinds of things, I am going to ask him about these.

We are on our "babymoon" atm. In Malta and its very sunny during the daytime! I am so enjoying just spending some 1 on 1 time with DH before our lives change dramatically. Back home tomorrow evening and back to the reality of work.
3 weeks left for me Smile

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 12:12

@1004Rise I'll open it on the day and it will be full of his sandwiches

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 12:14

@MrsJW15 we have this issue with Amazon endlessly. I have Prime and at least one parcel a month vanishes.

I love it! Priorities for men.

@MissMooMoo enjoy your babymoon!!!

This chair is so dirty. I'm literally smothering it in pledge, dettol and saying a prayer!

RasperryInAMelon · 25/03/2017 12:19

DH and I are packing the bags together this morning and then heading into town to get other bits. A friend has suggested 6 nappies for the bag and to leave a pack of newborns in the car incase

teainbed · 25/03/2017 12:22

I think DH can fend for himself in hospital. There's vending machines and canteens so I think he'll survive!

The Crown is brilliant on Netflix if you haven't seen it.

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 12:53

@RasperryInAMelon we have done exactly the same, spare pack in the car along with a spare wipes and grosuit. If we don't need them, then I'll keep them in the car for emergency changes.

@teainbed DH was "thrilled" when he saw a McDonalds next to the hospital. I'd like to take the piss, but there's a Costa opposite the maternity ward and I do like their ham and cheese toasties!

yellowismyfavourite · 25/03/2017 14:15

mrsjw that's rubbish hope you can get it sorted. missmoomoo enjoy! I am picking up the last few bits for the hospital bag today then plan to pack it later

1004Rise · 25/03/2017 16:55

OK I give up, this pregnancy malarkey is hard work. Just been for a walk with the dogs, normal route round the sand dunes and I waddled a lot and had to sit down twice, poor dogs kept looking at me like I was an alien species! Blush

coxsorangepippin · 25/03/2017 17:15

I am packing for a few days in Italy! So hospital bag def not getting packed til after we are home Grin
Went to meet a doula this pm who seemed lovely.

RasperryInAMelon · 25/03/2017 17:42

So shopping was hopeless... ended up buying a baby gift for a friend and a bottle of baby lotion... #EpicFail

newbieho · 25/03/2017 17:45

Enjoy thenshort break @coxsorangepippin!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 25/03/2017 18:12

Uggghhh. Well last week was a gruler, so much work and so little sleep especially after a much too physical weekend. However now on the final straight, 3 weeks of 4 working days and then maternity leave with 2 weeks off before due date - woohoo. This weekend is our 'totally check out from the world' time together, we couldn't even find the energy to go away so are just enjoying our own home. We're both feeling much more rested after going out for breakfast, mooching round a junk shop and then 'sofa time', Strictly Ballroom, Paddington and Brave Grin. Just off to see Miles Jupp from the News Quiz on Radio 4 so lets call todays entertainment eclectic!

Hope those of you that have had tough weeks have had a better start to the weekend. And I can confirm as others have said, growth between 32 and 35 weeks is pretty significant and this one still managing to find room to squirm a lot!

Welcome back beachsands

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 19:43

@1004Rise I'm the same, literally no energy! DH has come back from work to help with housework as I couldn't manage it all!

@coxsorangepippin I am so JEALOUS! I'd love to go to Italy, it's my dream to visit. Take loads of photos and eat wonderful food!!

I am so tired today so I've been naughty and ordered Dominos Grin

teainbed · 25/03/2017 19:53

I spent the whole afternoon in the garden. It was glorious. We are really lucky we're going to be off all summer!
