Placemarking! Thank you for the new thread!

Wow another thread, thanks for starting @PeachIcedT

Welcome to the newbies/long term lurkers this week BrewCake

So glad it's Friday!

Looking forward to a couple of nights in Bournemouth, then have my 32 week appointment on Wednesday.

Don't have my nhs antenatal class till 36 weeks! And haven't booked on a breastfeeding class Confused I have looked up local groups so will look to them for support at the beginning

I do hope the coffee meet up went well, and hope those who have been ill are feeling better.
I seem to have had a week of lots of energy!! Not sure how long it's going to last for!

McBaby · 24/03/2017 20:10

barnes75 Although I love 5 mins from hospital I would not be driving myself so would have to wait for dp or someone else to get to me if I was at home alone, if it happens in the night we also have two kids to get care for etc and I don't fancy giving birth in the car on the way to the hospital.

It's safer to stay at home and call the midwife if I think i won't make it to the hospital. Last time they estimated 20 mins for first midwife to arrive and the second to go to the hospital for supplies (usually they both meet at the hospital).

Tickyboovicki · 24/03/2017 20:20

badger this is us is fantastic! Wish I'd thought to save it! Also I have got huge in the last 2 weeks I reckon, about 34 1/2 weeks currently - not sure how I can get any bigger!

newbieho · 24/03/2017 20:34

Hello @LJD0407, welcome 🙋

Adventuregame · 24/03/2017 21:14

Badger so much bigger here at 33 weeks. DH has been away for over a week - think he'll get home on Tuesday and be a bit shocked !!!

MrsJW15 · 24/03/2017 21:21

Lovely to see all you London ladies tonight!

Just hit 33 weeks and I don't think bump has got much bigger in the last couple of weeks. So interested to see if it suddenly grows (eek)!

1004Rise · 24/03/2017 21:29

Oooo @Brightsmoke maybe you will be the first... exiting to think that we might have babies on this thread!

I'm only 32+3 and I can't see how I can get any bigger, can't believe I need to have space for another 8 weeks (at least)

@McBaby That's awesome about your spd!

Hope the meet up went well.

I have a gymnast this evening, convinced this baby is trying to get out my belly button sometimes!

If anyone has a suggestion for non fizzy soft drinks I'd love to hear it, I'm currently on hot squash, cold squash or water... can't do tea (I know weird Sad) or coffee or anything fizzy because fizz sets off my heartburn.

For box sets I'm planning to watch all the scandi dramas that I've avoided up til because of the subtitles, might be able to concentrate on them.

Adventuregame · 24/03/2017 21:56

There's an apple and elderflower fruit and barley squash that's nice. Or orange juice and cranberry juice mixed.

yellowismyfavourite · 24/03/2017 22:25

barnes am the same with tea. Love anything with elderflower and drink a lot of hot squash. Hope you are feeling better.
Glad you feel better raspberry. I am on the five more days of work count down too... We can celebrate together next Friday. Congratulations sipper on starting your maternity leave.
Thanks peach for the new thread.
bright I have also been getting stronger BH and I was born at 34w as a first baby. Am not ready yet so hoping it doesn't happen for a few weeks
Welcome ljd
badger my bump has a weird growing pattern. I grew loads between 28w and 31w and then hardly at all up to 34w. Baby has moved down and is starting to engage though which might be why my bump hasn't grown so much.
Greys anatomy and Nashville are great box sets... and I also really like scandal and have only watched first 2 seasons

nursebickypegs · 24/03/2017 22:54

@1004Rise what fruits do you like? I'm a fruit squash fiend. You could get a diffuser and add your own fruits, or you could try fruit teas from Whittards... they are lovely but sometimes high in sugar. I personally love Asda's range of Hi-Juices, they do a lovely peach and white grape one which is so nice.

Who was it in the last thread who mentioned they haven't seen Game of Thrones? You must!! Takes a bit to get into but if you pace it well, it's enjoyable. If we had a girl, Brienne was going to be her middle name as I love Brienne of Tarth so much.

nursebickypegs · 24/03/2017 22:57

also ladies, can someone recommend me a bump cream which isn't Palmers or lush? The Palmers one is so sticky that I might as well smother myself in jam and I love the Lush one, but it's so greasy.

savagehk · 24/03/2017 23:14

1004 don't expect to be able to read subtitles with a newborn. Think things that don't need too much concentration esp if you end up watching them during night feeds!

badger I've been going to a pregnancy exercise class and this week particularly my bump was suddenly a lot more in the way / uncomfortable. I think it might have dropped a bit too. I need to have a look on spinning babies and see what positions I should be trying to make sure this one ends up in a better position than the last one!

Rockyroad17 · 24/03/2017 23:22

@nursebickypegs I have 'mum and me' bump cream by cussons... it's not sticky or greasy but it does smell slightly of fake tan for some reason. I hope it's not going to leave me with a brown bump Grin

jennymac31 · 24/03/2017 23:36

Place marking before I catch up on the thread.

Really should go to bed but having trouble going to sleep.

Spam88 · 24/03/2017 23:40

I'm about two threads behind so I think trying to catch up is probably futile at this point...

LJD hope you're okay after your fall!

Rise I pretty much just drink milk now. Cannot get enough milk. Husband is away at the moment so it's just me and I'm buying 8 pints every time I go shopping 🙈 I've also bought some red bush tea for when I fancy a hot drink.

Hoping my SPD just disappears one day. It's gotten so much worse the last week or so 😩

Adventuregame · 24/03/2017 23:49

Mum and me bump cream or sanctuary mum to be.

Adventuregame · 24/03/2017 23:50

Baby is doing something resembling a Cirque du Soleil act in there tonight - haven't managed to get any sleep yet !!!

ShiniBerry · 25/03/2017 00:04

Oops hadn't realised we had a new thread already! Thanks Tickyboo

34 weeks today and feel like there's no way i can get bigger! I'm having lots of back cramps and painful (Braxton Hicks?) contractions. Getting worried LO is going to make an early appearance! He's been measuring 2 weeks ahead so we might be meeting him in 4 weeks instead of 6-or sooner!!!

Does anyone have really sore boobs? Mine have been sore and aching for a few days now, like the inner part and tops :-/

Also, Happy Mother's day weekend ladies! Is anyone celebrating? Not sure if we are going to do anything, would it be jinxing it to celebrate?

jennymac31 · 25/03/2017 00:19

Feel so restless tonight despite being quite tired but I'm pretty sure that listening to the scummy mummies podcasts is probably not the best way to get to sleep. Oh well!

ShiniBerry · 25/03/2017 00:25

Also for box sets/Netflixing:

Game of thrones, Orange is the new black, House of cards, Homeland, Greys anatomy, Scandal, Jane the Virgin, Mad men, Suits, The good wife, Vikings, Gilmore girls, Sons of anarchy, Peaky blinders, Downton abbey, Breaking bad, Sherlock, Stranger things, Better call Saul, Dexter, Making a murderer, Entourage. Recently started watching Little big lies and This is us is good too. Yep DH and I watch A LOT of TV! Grin

Teaspoon74 · 25/03/2017 00:47

Thanks Peach!

Ooh - still after box set ideas if you have any more suggestions Rise! & thanks Sipper & Shini!!
*
LJD* snap! Also due 16/5 (though prob go earlier due to being induced). Welcome.

Lovely to meet folks over coffee earlier. Hope we can do it again pre-pop!!

Rise how about good old ribena?
*
Jenny* what's scummy mummies?!?

WishIWasSleeping · 25/03/2017 02:51

Teaspoon- I love it! And I think your renaming helped... we're currently at 3 spots and I'm doubting work on Monday. We've already changed our weekend plans... it'll be good to get it out of the way whilst I can give her my full attention though.
1004 - we get the Asda 3 for £ whatever not from concentrate juices. I don't even remember what flavours we get because they save to my basket! I do know there's a purple coloured on with grape in, and an orange colour one with passion fruit in. They don't last very long, but they are very smooth.
NurseBP - love GOT... have totally not seen the last season due to hubby working away during the week and neither of us having time for telly once DD is asleep at the weekend. I currently use my tub of sensitive Nivea cream on mine. Helps take away the itching.

DD just woke for a cuddle which is why I'm up at this time. Took me forever to get to her room, my sciatica is hurting tonight... needs to bugger off now!
'D'H has been to the pub tonight for a few hours. I swear to god if he doesn't stop grunting and snoring I may push him out of bed.. Hmm

Also, I haven't seen it but I've heard black sails is good.

Welcome new people! Hope everyone can keep smiling. Grin
Not long until the exhaustion starts!

lullaby23 · 25/03/2017 03:38

Thanks for the new thread peach exciting to think we might have a birth on this one???

Good news on the spd improving mcbaby

sipper new Line of Duty starts on Sunday, can't wait! rustler I loved The Outlaws, haven't seen many Flemish language (is that the right term?) programmes, there was one on BBC called Cordon about an outbreak or something? Also a fan of Jane the Virgin esme, think I watch too much tv really.

nurse Brienne of Tarth is the nuts. Do you remember a while ago Khaleesi had been used as a baby name and some of the GOT geeks said well really it should be Daenerys as Khaleesi just means queen, made me laugh.

DH has taken DS out to the shops this morning and I was hoping for a lazy soak in the bath. However DS decided to do a poo in the bath last night so the only thing soaking will be Dettol Sad and all the toys have been chucked! Hoping they are buying me lots of mini eggs for Mother's Day.

Another indignity today, lent over the induction hob to clean the splashback and managed to turn it on with bump.

nursebickypegs · 25/03/2017 03:52

@Rockyroad17 @Adventuregame for some reason Amazon have that for £17?!? I swear I saw it in Savers/Boots for less than a £5 so I'll get some tomorrow. For the first time in my life the smell of Lush made me feel a bit light headed yesterday, so I might grab some bubble bath too.

Oh YAY it's nearly 4am so it's time for "I feel sick as a dog and Bub is attempting to do an Alien style escape out of my belly button."

So because I'm dead proud, here's my chair. The stool is behind it. It needs a bloody good clean, but that's what I do best at the moment with my nesting head on and a bottle of Zoflora GrinGrin

Does anyone else feel really vulnerable and over protective of bump? Past few times that we have gone out in the city shopping, I've been quite cautious of people. Normally I'm not bothered at all by huge groups of teenagers or huge blokes but now I'm like so cautious and grabbing onto my husband.

Now where's the gaviscon?
