Oh my BP is fine now, consultant is happy it will stay steady now.

Dizziness went away after my cereal, didn't realise I was hungry Hmm

MotherofA · 03/01/2017 18:33

Ah good bless you xx

MotherofA · 04/01/2017 07:34

Morning all , anyone else suffering with insomnia ? I spent half the night laying there worrying about DD birthday which is the day before my c section , then checked phone and got an email saying about packing hospital bag (has anyone done this?) so I was panicking about that and then about the c section ! Seriously tired and lots of work to do today . Confused

Carolann8584 · 04/01/2017 07:59

I had a bad night as well, keep waking up on my back, so bump and back area are aching, I start on my side but then turn Sad

Not done my bag either, need to start putting together I think

Carolann8584 · 04/01/2017 08:51

Little lady not very active this morning, might be having a late snooze

Butterpuff · 04/01/2017 09:47

Also a bad night here. I went to a hypnobirthing class yesterday and came away with a relaxing cd to play as I went to sleep. I'm usually asleep minutes after my head hits the pillow, last night it was hours and then I woke up constantly. Not sure its working for me!

A little far back but I also recommend the medela pump I had one with DD (although the determined little monkey never did agree to taking a bottle) and am planning on using it again.

I suppose I should be packing a hospital bag, but as I know that the section will be on the 6th March I'll probably leave it till the last moment!

We have most things including lots of neutral new born stuff from DD so not buying much. But searching for a second hand Oyster Max tandem pushchair and a buggy board at the moment as my Oyster is a single.

Its getting closer and I'm getting excited to meet this little bean.

Carolann8584 · 04/01/2017 10:30

My little one is dancing now Smile

I think I have everything for my LOs part of the hospital bag but so far she doesn't have a changing bag to put everything in Sad every time I find one I like it's out of stock then if I find it somewhere else its £10-£15 more expensive Angry I could keep waiting until the stock is back but would like to get her bag done at least.

Breast pump and monitor ordered now Smile

MotherofA · 04/01/2017 11:48

I'm the same butter ! Usually fall to sleep so easily but was hours last night and waking up lots !
My c section is 10/3 but I guess they tell you to pack a bag just in case . I think I did mine with DD at 29 weeks although that was 10years ago so who knows haha !
Carol I was just going to put babies stuff in with mine in my hold-all ? Didn't think of using changing bag at all!
Does anyone know how many bottles you take to hospital if you are not breast feeding etc ? I am clueless on this !

Carolann8584 · 04/01/2017 12:00

I was going to ask about bottles even if you are breast feeding, just in case. I don't even know how many to have at home after, hoping to share some of the feeding with my OH.

I just thought I might as well get use to packing the changing bag Smile

MotherofA · 04/01/2017 13:13

I have 8 because I'm not bf but I would say start with 4 if you plan to bf and express . You can always buy more if need them and in hospital I know if for whatever reason you can't bf baby they have bottles there ready . Smile

Eeeek ok I'm going to panic pack my bag tonight haha although I am pretty sure I don't have everything that I want to put in it haha . Time to get serious I think and start buying nappies etc !
Ah Hugh do you have a preference for the sex ? I didn't find out last time but wanted to this time to be a little more organised Smile (that's worked out well )

I love it, adding Jaffa cakes to the list for my hospital bag Grin

I reached 32 weeks on Monday and got that email saying "have you packed your hospital bag yet?" - er, hell no! Hadn't even occurred to me! Been far too busy and haven't even started getting the stuff I'll need, let alone packing it. I think I'll start getting the stuff this weekend, but only because me and my sister were both very early so my mum advised me to pack a bag early just in case!

NameChange30 · 04/01/2017 15:25

(I am the type of person who packs for a holiday the night before... I figure labour isn't that quick so worst case scenario I can always chuck things in a bag when it starts!)

Carolann8584 · 04/01/2017 16:01

On a separate subject, how is everyone doing with work?

With missing time due to hospital appointments etc? How are you doing catching up with work when you come back in? Work have been very understanding with time off but I do feel like I'm constantly trying to catch up. Just had a meeting to see were we are up to as a team and I felt like I was the only one given a "things still to do list" am I just being hormonal or over sensitive/paranoid.

LittlePear91 · 04/01/2017 20:46

Bloody hell, you're all making me panic! I've got a mega busy week work wise this week (end of year and VAT return, joy of joys), then from next week I'm determined to actually get the 'little bits' sorted, or at least a list made!

So far we have been given bedroom furniture and bought the pram and car seats, and that is it! Have only got 1 pack of vests and 6 muslin cloths so far 😂🙈

I'm planning on breastfeeding- is it worth going straight for an electric pump or should I try my hand with a manual one first?!

Butterpuff · 04/01/2017 22:06

Electronic pumps are much better, we got ours for next to nothing in a sale but as Dd never once took a bottle I'd have been annoyed if I'd paid full price as it wasn't useful much and hand pumping would have been enough to find out that Dr didn't like bottles.

MotherofA · 04/01/2017 23:39

Carol I am lucky I work from home now , not sure I could have coped pregnant in my previous office job ! At the same time I'm still sat working now it has plus and downsides !

I feel a bit more relaxed tonight about the whole lack of bag being packed etc ! Going to get everything I don't have next week I think such as the dreaded maternity pads Envy lol .

I personally tried a hand pump and got literally zilch plus it aches your hand haha . Electric pumps are the way to go well for me it was .

Hahahaha just the thought of them and the aftermath brings up a little vomit Grin
To be fair I only tried the Medela one in hospital and out so I can't comment on other brands . Probably depends on your flow too as I have two friends of friends who had babies recently , one who found feeding really easy lots of milk and the other was the opposite she wasn't giving the baby enough .... trial and error I guess !
I have been stocking up on lots of clothes in all the sales in various sizes , I remember a wishing I had done that with my eldest so thought better to pay sale prices and be prepared . It's just a lot of the other stuff I need oh and lots of vests and bibs!

Carolann8584 · 05/01/2017 14:48

My little lady is doing somersaults this afternoon! feel like I've been on a rollercoaster my stomach has rolled that much lol

I guess she really enjoyed lunch Smile
