Carol
If the women only course is the only option, I suggest you do it anyway. It's a shame your partner won't be able to go, but it will probably be beneficial for you and it would be a shame to miss out.
I've been going to pregnancy yoga and it sounds like the course you found is a bit of a hybrid between an antenatal class and pregnancy yoga - sounds like a great idea!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 14/12/2016 02:08

Carol I'll be doing most of my 'preparation' on line as while there are midwife-led ones here, I doubt I'll be able to keep up with the language. That course you mentioned did sound good though it's a pity about the timing.

Great that you enjoyed the first class Name - when I get back from holidays I'm going to start looking at it more seriously. And arghh about your New Look tights comment - I bought some but haven't tried them yet...are they really bad?

Hugh do you have any hypnobirthing book recommendations? Enjoy buying the baby clothes (if you manage!) I still feel strange picking things up but keep telling myself that it makes sense to spread the cost.

I had a scan this morning and all is well - baby is estimated to weigh 850g. I also got my cervix measured, which was reassuring before our flight at the weekend.

Butterpuff · 14/12/2016 10:38

The midwife led course I did last time round was quite hippy rather than hard to keep up with the language. My hypnobirthing will start January. I'm feeling a bit of a fraud as we know that I will be having baby by C-section. But hey ho, the midwife thought it might be useful for stress management so I'll give it a go. I bought my first item for baby last week. Its cute as can be.

Very cute butter

Think I have worked out a way for us to do the NHS classes! just need their Jan to Feb dates as the timetable I have been given only runs until 31.12.16

Hoping I can persuade my OH to have DSSs during Feb half term so we don't miss seeing them and then not have then the weekend prior so we can do the class that weekend. FX they have one running that week

I know it seems a lot of hassle just so my OH would be able to come but he has been very hands on with this pregnancy as his ex wanted her mum and sisters with her he wasn't able to do much during DSSs pregnancies. Plus getting access to his DSs has been tricky up until this year so don't want to rock the boat as they say.

Butterpuff · 14/12/2016 12:21

I appreciated having DH with me when we went to ours, and he found it very valuable too as he was my birth partner so I think its a good plan to get him there if you can. I hope it does work out for you.

Carolann8584 · 14/12/2016 14:12

Well OH wants to come to classes but doesn't want to change the boys routine. MEN. I give up. It's either DVD class or I go to the Daisy class by myself. Could do both as it will still cost us less than £100 Smile

Just finished with the MW. BP still high, sending me to the hospital in the morning Sad

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 15/12/2016 00:43

Good luck at the hospital tomorrow Carol. I hope your bp lowers and you won't be in for long.

Thanks for the book tip Hugh - I'll have to look it up (and get over the hippy stuff!) Good luck with the GTT!

That's very cute Butter - it's hard not to purchase loads when they're so cute.

Flowers for you huge

Just had first BP done. Still high. The pressure to have low BP is making me worse!

My urine has been fine at the MW but they took some for testing and bloods just waiting for the results now. BP come down a little but I have just spent nearly an hour holding a monitor chasing my little lady round to get her heartbeat read. She's a fidget today lol

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 15/12/2016 11:25

Good luck with the results Carol - hopefully they'll be all clear.

Enjoy the scan Hugh...that's a nice surprise and hopefully just precautionary. My bump seems to grow bigger through the day! Oh, and I hope you get some food soon - hunger is the pits especially after you've been fasting.

Carolann8584 · 15/12/2016 11:40

Just seen a trolley full of bounty packs, anybody had theirs yet?

Carolann8584 · 15/12/2016 13:54

Still waiting for my results!! Been here since 8:30. Was supposed to be going into work after. Sad

Home at last. Manager said no point going in now. By the time the consultant came to see me my BP was fine. No treatment given today but they want me back on Saturday

froglou · 15/12/2016 20:49

Massively off topic but has anyone had experience with reusable wipes?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 15/12/2016 22:38

Great news Hugh, and hopefully all will be fine at your next scan.

Do they want you in for more monitoring on Saturday Carol? Fx your bp will be okay.

I didn't even know reusable wipes existed Frog Grin

Carolann8584 · 16/12/2016 00:33

Yeah, going to check BP and put the monitor again for baby movement and heartbeat just to check if I need treatment or not

Carolann8584 · 16/12/2016 09:09

Oh forgot to mention, there was a woman there whos waters had broke at 35wk +5, this is her second. She mentioned she had high BP with her first and they induced her at 37 weeks, has anyone on here had this with previous pregnancies?

If my BP is high on Saturday I will be doing twice a week visits to the hospital until the end of my pregnancy Sad no pressure!!
