Yeah, I have to admit playing hide and seek with my LO was fun yesterday (always look on the bright side), she was so fidgety could feel her moving away from the Doppler they had strapped to my belly so eventually I had to hold it and move with her so they could get a long enough read.

Hugh did you have to have all your BP checks at the hospital you were going to give birth in? I work down the road from a hospital but my hospital is closer to my house. Would they refer me to the one nearer my work just for the BP checks or does it have to stay the same hospital?

Carolann8584 · 16/12/2016 11:56

Oh My! so excited

Just been told we are having DSSs Xmas eve until after new year, their DM only wants them for a couple of hours on Xmas day which is fine. We have then Xmas morning for the first time! and they are having Xmas dinner with us as well! OH is so so so excited, he's never had them Xmas morning, to wake up with them and go down to see if Santa's been Grin she doesn't do Santa in her house (doesn't want him taking credit) Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

Butterpuff · 19/12/2016 12:31

Awww that's lovely carol make the most of it. Xmas Grin My friend was induced at 37 weeks for high bp (turned to preeclampsia) she had been having regular monitoring for a few weeks as bp was high before they decided. We were due 1 day apart and there is 5 weeks between our girls! The induction was relatively strait forward and her dd was a good weight and healthy she was home after a couple of days.

frog I haven't used reusable wipes but I have heard their praises sung relentlessly on cloth bum groups. The cheeky wipes seem to be the favorite but expensive so lots buy second hand. I am thinking about investing this time round as I have lots of cloth nappies now (bought the bambio mio (sp?) ones in Aldi when they stocked them) if they work with baby then we may go cloth at 6 weeks, if your regularly cleaning nappies then throwing in some wipes makes sense especially with fairly inoffensive bf poo. Ive heard that they clean up baby much more easily than the cotton wool recommended for the first bit. I would not use them now on DDs bum though as anything cleaned from their is not going anywhere near my washing machine even pre soaked Xmas Envy

We had midwife last week, measured well, low bp, good heartbeat so all good. Just waiting results of my blood test now to check on iron levels. Back next week.

Carolann8584 · 19/12/2016 13:03

Was at the hospital again Saturday to check BP, all was fine, need to go in once a week to be checked in the next few weeks but they were happy it's gone back down and no other symptoms Smile

Anyone else's babies in transverse lie? Sad

I don't want to worry myself yet as I know that there's still plenty of time for him to go head down, but I've felt his movements from 18/19weeks (I'm wondering if his position has helped with that actually!) & he's 100% been transverse the whole time.

I'm 29+3 now and can't help but start to worry that he is never going to budge! Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

Butterpuff · 19/12/2016 13:32

Melissa Yep, transverse all the way so far. DD was the same until about 36 weeks then got into a perfect position......before spinning around to be back to back for delivery. Also, a friend was transverse up to 38 weeks. During week 38 a midwife came to her house to 'spin' the baby. She said it was a bit uncomfortable but it worked. Baby was delivered in less that an hour and 30 with just gas and air and no stitches. So I'd not start to worry yet Xmas Smile

Butterpuff · 19/12/2016 13:32

oh and pleased bp is down carol

melissacx9 · 19/12/2016 14:24

Butterpuff thanks for the reassurance! I had never even heard of transverse babies before so when the midwife mentioned it at my 28 week appointment I didn't think it was that big of a deal until I read a little bit more... although I know google is my worst enemy!

I have heard that midwives can try and move the baby but I'm such a worrier and can't help but wonder if there's a reason that baby is lay like this Blush. Was there talk of moving the baby/possibility of c-sections etc before your DD turned, or was it just a case of wait and see if she moves? I have been hoping for a water birth with little pain relief & the thought of a section really scares me!!

Butterpuff · 19/12/2016 14:57

With me they didn't really mention anything. I too was aiming for a water birth at my local MLU. I don't think they start talking about options until closer to the time and then the first options will be spinning the baby not possible sections. I think they will probably try that more than once if necessary and if it does not distress baby.

I'll also say that the thought of intervention terrified me as well. I didn't want anything but a water birth and gas and air. In the end due to a lazy comfortable baby who didn't want to come out to play I had a C-section at 40+15. It really wasn't so bad. Not my ideal, but I had imagined so much worse than the reality.

BeccaSays · 19/12/2016 19:10

Hi Melissa, I had a growth scan today (28+1) and my baby is breech. But the sonographer said he's active and probably would even change position by the time I'd left the hospital. There's lots of time I guess! Hope he turns as not up for a breech birth at all!! Confused

Really have no idea which way round my little lady is, I can feel her rolling every day so can't work out her position, as long as she's comfy Smile

Carolann8584 · 20/12/2016 12:40

Anybody had a meeting at work about their MAT leave yet? I've got mine today. Don't know why I'm nervous. It's not as if they can say no lol 😁

Butterpuff · 21/12/2016 09:34

You know what I don't think I have been given, or have filled in a MAT form to hand into work yet! Should I have done that by now? They do know and I'm in a lucky position that I can pretty much do what I like, but Accounts will want to make sure that its all legal.

Carolann8584 · 21/12/2016 09:50

I asked my MW for my MATB1 form, she didn't offer it.

I handed it in at work yesterday 27+5 weeks.

I pop in occasionally to see if anyone's posted but mostly stick to facebook. It's very very busy in the group, which I enjoy!

My £69 cot has just arrived, thank you John Lewis sale!

Carolann8584 · 31/12/2016 08:54

Had my third BP profile on the 28th after an awful trip to the hospital the week before, my consultant has taken over my care now she wasn't happy with the way I was being treated by the MW team so I will be seeing her from now on, BP back under control now I have a growth scan on the 10th Smile

We will be telling my DSSs about their new little sis soon, I'm actually nervous lol

Christmas has been great with boys, their mum messed with Xmas day plans but we didn't let her ruin anything.

Had a fab day, absolutely shattered but loved it Smile
