lovely dress miss

I normally live in jeans as well but was so uncomfortable yesterday so ditched them today, so far so good.

Had an awful nights sleep, too hot, restless legs and arms. spent 2 hours sleeping the wrong way up on the bed (head at foot end) as I was too hot next to OH. woke every hour from 3 gave up at 6. soooo so tired now.

Happygojo86 · 25/08/2016 11:31

I have declined my GTT, if I start measuring big, have symptoms or have glucose in my urine then I will do it, but not just because my BMI is 31. I had the test last time and I really don't want to do it again with a toddler. MW said to me that it was a really sensible attitude as she thinks they test too many people unnecessarily.

So far since finding out I was preg I have lost 7lbs vaguely sticking to slimming world. In an idea world I wouldn't gain anyway weight this pregnancy but that's not realistic! I just want to stay healthy. Running around after DD is helping I think

MissClarke86 · 25/08/2016 11:33

Well done happygojo that's really good.

What does the test actually involve? I said yes without really thinking about it!

Really struggling today. Got lots that I need to do but so very very tired I'm struggling to keep my eyes open. I'm also stressed and emotional - found myself crying just trying to get DS and dogs in the car to go for our normal walk.

I just want to go back to bed and be left alone for a week but got too much that needs doing! I really don't know what's a symptom of pregnancy and what's a normal reaction to hectic and stressful life.

Also have a horrible feeling that something is going to be wrong on tomorrow's scan.

Sorry for the moan Sad

SuperDuperJezebel · 25/08/2016 12:13

Spaniel I totally sympathise...I was the same before mine. Nothing I can say to reassure you but sending you a virtual hand hold in solidarity.

Dozygirl · 25/08/2016 12:15

Scan went well. Baby alive and kicking. Couldn't get nuchal measurement so just have to have bloods at 16 weeks instead. Not sure what the difference is in the tests but at least I'm not worrying over a nuchal reading. So happy all was good. Didn't get a great picture but never mind. Baby just wasn't playing ball.

My bmi is over 30 I think but they haven't said they've referred me gtt yet. Doesn't sound a pleasant thing to go through so I'm hoping I don't have to. I was doing well weight loss wise but yesterday I completely craved naughty things. I get so bored so easily with dieting and just want to go back to eating whatever I want but then I'm miserable about being fat so I need to be strong and keep going.

SecretScaryFriend · 25/08/2016 12:23

Another one anxious for a scan tomorrow. Everyone who knows has asked if I'm looking forward to it repeatedly and I am struggling not to say, "no, I have waited two and a bit months wondering if all is ok or if I have made all this up, bit nervous actually."

Can't have made the whole thing up as I'm in my "bloated jeans" and they are just about tolerable. This belly is ridiculous despite only putting on 3lb. I am in the "looks super fat not pregnant" stage. Just took DD swimming and felt like a heifer. Blush

Tutuloves · 25/08/2016 12:24

Congrats on your scan dozy x

Gardencentregroupie · 25/08/2016 12:29

My belly is massive secret. Even the size up jeggings I bought are getting tight. Good luck for tomorrow and hand hold for spaniel.

My phone won't let me download google sheets atm, so I'm not on the spreadsheet yet. Stats:
35yo
Expecting DC2
EDD 12.3.17
12 week scan 31.8.16

Happygojo86 · 25/08/2016 12:48

For the GTT in my area last time, you weren't allowed anything but water from midnight (not even gaviscon or Rennies!) then you had to go and have bloods taken, then drink 450ml of lucazade original that you had to buy yourself (bleurgh) and then sit for two hours having bloods every hour. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting and if I was seriously over the BMI threshold or had a family history of diabetes then I would definitely have it but I feel like it's a waste of a morning. You can't leave between blood tests either so it's not like you can go for a walk or something

neonrainbow · 25/08/2016 12:52

Is the gtt actually necessary? It sounds like a huge hassle.

alphabook · 25/08/2016 13:00

I'm having a GTT as I have PCOS which makes me higher risk apparently, although my BMI is only slightly overweight. I don't mind having it as I'm going in for it at 8 so it's not too long without breakfast, and I don't have any other DC to deal with. But I can understand it's a bit of a faff for most, and probably not really necessary.

Congrats Dozy!

Spaniel I'm also really tired and emotional all the time. I feel on the verge of tears for no reason!

I'm due 1st March and it didn't even occur to me about having a leap year baby Super!

Carolann8584 · 25/08/2016 13:11

Just had to walk into town to the bank for work, it's about a mile each way, got back had a bit of lunch then decided to go sit in my car for some air and had 30 nap Hmm, regret it now as want more sleep Sad

Very emotional today as well, wanted to cry before when someone asked me to do the simplest task just wanted no say I'm too tired.

AngelBlue12 · 25/08/2016 13:24

Had my booking appointment today, nice to see my midwife again from last baby :) She agrees with me that there's no point having the GTT in my circumstances and that they test too many people.

Waiting for my scan now - feeling nervous...

Dustycorners · 25/08/2016 13:26

Congrats on the scan, Dozy!

I had mine this morning. All looking good....

And it's twins! ShockShockShock

Dh and I are in shock. We are scared but absolutely delighted. Grin

Tutuloves · 25/08/2016 13:27

Spaniel I'm sorry your struggling today. Do you have any family members that can take the kids while you have some much needed rest? Having young children and the first trimester can be very overwhelming can't it. My MIL and FIL have taken the children for me today and it's made all the difference. I've had a long bath and painted my toes, feel like a new woman!!!
If you feel overwhelmed with all your tasks just remember you should have a burst of energy that will help you tackle most things in the 2nd trimester. Just try and think what do you HAVE to do as a priority to get you through the day, everything else can wait.

Tutuloves · 25/08/2016 13:29

Oh my days Dusty, double congratulations!!! What wonderful news!!! Is this your first pregnancy? I forget...

Dustycorners · 25/08/2016 13:32

Thanks Tutu. No, I have a DS who will be 23 months when these are due. No idea how we'll cope Confused

Carolann8584 · 25/08/2016 13:33

Wow dusty congrats! So we have 2 sets of twins no on here now Smile lovely news xx

Tutuloves · 25/08/2016 13:40

Let us know how your family and friends react dusty. I'd be tempted to not tell them, pop round to show them the scan picture and wait to see their reaction when they work it out. Awww lovely news.

Dustycorners · 25/08/2016 13:45

I've already whatsapp'd a few people by sending two photos and then after they've said congratulations, explaining they're not the same baby. Cue lots of pauses and cries of "twins?!??" and that type of thing. My best friend phoned me and just screamed. Most people thought I was joking. I haven't told my parents as we're seeing them tomorrow anyway, so will hand them the two photos and see if they work it out. I can't wait to see their faces Smile

Dustycorners · 25/08/2016 13:46

And I am so putting the photos on the gender website to get some nub guesses - I need to know!'

Butterpuff · 25/08/2016 14:04

Congratulations Dusty that's fab .news.

neonrainbow · 25/08/2016 14:08
