A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Mine aren't even that big!! My nipples are just very enthusiastic about the whole situation and feel the need to let everyone know haha!!

Evergreen17 · 27/06/2016 16:19

Scary the blood test was done by the midwife and then they just called me from the surgery today Blush I spoke to the receptionist.
The scan on Thursday is done at the Ultrasound centre and that is all they have there I think.

They said that it is only the full blood count that is missing so what I will do is wait for the rest of the results (midwife said she will post them in the next two weeks) then I will call the midwife and ask if I can get them done somewhere else.

Does this sound like a plan? Hmm

wispaxmas · 27/06/2016 16:28

Evergreen, I'd just get a normal blood test request form thingy from your GP, then you can go to any local hospital that takes them and do it same day, no wait, and the results would be sent to your GP. There's no reason you should have to wait a month for something so simple. Though I suppose on the other hand maybe they don't think it matters that much.

Scarydinosaurs · 27/06/2016 16:38

wispa is right ever. As someone who suffers with anemia, I know it is much better if they can tell you as soon as possible- so I would want it done ASAP. However, if your doctor isn't worried I guess he isn't concerned? I didn't have my booking bloods taken (apart from my nuchal test one) until 24 weeks in my first pregnancy because my veins kept collapsing 🙈

Masweetpea1 · 27/06/2016 16:47

I've had diarrhoea too. I'd rather the morning sickness than diarrhoea though. At least you can tell someone it's morning sickness, diarrhoea isn't so easy to explain Blush
I've stopped eating fruit and bread until it costs up and sticking with carbs. Not great but I've been ok for a week now. Hoping is stopped!!

Evergreen17 · 27/06/2016 17:03

Thanks wispa and scary Smile
I dont even think doctor has any idea of this. I only saw the midwife and she requested the tests as something that must be part of the booking appointment routine. Not sure I will have much to do with the doctor during pregnancy, it seems to be all
Midwife led and scans.

I am pretty sure I had these tests done last month as well when I was being investigated for infertility so maybe I dont have to worry too much.

I will wait to speak to midwife as I get really anxious when I have to ring places and ask/ push for things and GP appointments are just so hard to get here even if I want to see the GP to get that form it will take 2 weeks for that Sad

I hope this is ok Blush

FriendlyGhost · 27/06/2016 17:05

Sorry to hear others have had diarrhoea too although it's a relief to know it's normal. I didn't get it last time. Unfortunately fruit is the only thing I really fancy eating. This is possibly the reason!
I find my nausea is much easier if I'm out in the fresh air. It's awful if I'm at home and near the kitchen. Although I want to just lie down and feel sorry for myself I've just been for a slow walk with dd and feel a lot better.

gumbootsandjandals · 27/06/2016 17:22

kellz can I ask what drugs you're on for sickness? I have found metachlopramide better than cyclizine, however it made me v woozy so I can't really use it on weekdays when am in sole charge of two kids.

My nausea has got worse and I now need to vomit from around 4pm onwards. It's better if I have something in my stomach however I wish that something wasn't strawberry milk today. One of the few foods I can stomach. Make that could.

Sunshineface123 · 27/06/2016 17:45

Hope everyone's feeling ok today. I too have had a dodgy stomach each morning for last 2 weeks, boobs and nipples enormous am going to need new bras, annoying! Anyone else got early scan coming up?

LondonGirl83 · 27/06/2016 17:53

Friendly, I also feel better when I go for a walk. I actually feel the worst if I take a nap during the day. When I wake up from the nap I feel so nauseated!

Sunshine my scan is on Saturday when I am 7 weeks (I think)

Itslittlek · 27/06/2016 17:59

I can vouche for only wanting fruit, I was living on fruit between 6-8 weeks!

FriendlyGhost · 27/06/2016 18:04

My scan is a week on Saturday. I can't wait!
I'm going to Devon tomorrow to see my parents for a week. Slightly dreading a 3 hour train journey with a dodgy tummy, nausea and a very active toddler but I'm looking forward to being looked after by my mum. I haven't told them yet so I'm excited to tell them too!

Evergreen17 · 27/06/2016 18:07

Scan in two days and a half
I cant wait. Honestly. Dont know what to do with myself!!!!!!!!!ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

No nausea here

Just tired and impatient Confused

Masweetpea1 · 27/06/2016 18:25
