A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

sky it's horrible isn't it. I'm not quite at the exhaustion stage yet but I do remember dozing off at my desk once or twice first time round! Blush

BabCNesbitt · 26/06/2016 18:03

SkyLucy, I've done nothing more today than take DD to a summer fair and sit around all afternoon, then make dinner, and I'm about to crawl into bed. Absolutely wiped out!

I haven't been posting much, but I've been trying to keep up with everyone's posts. I'm so sorry for all those who've had bad news, and keeping fingers crossed for those who are waiting.

Lucy1308 · 26/06/2016 18:08

Ooh sounds lovely mysterycat! I've started in a light grey and I've got a selection to choose from: lemon, white, dark grey, mint green, orange and some navy blue. Thinking grey/white/green for this one. Maybe add a few small orange stripes in?! I found a super easy pattern that only requires single crochet so I'm addicted having fun!!

I have horrible hayfever style symptoms (probably due to the high pollen counts the last few days) but now they've been replaced with a horrible stuffy left nostril that feels full of snot but I can't blow it or sniff it anywhere (sorry TMI!!)

In other news, me and OH had sex this morning and my spotting has increased again. Weirdly this has reassured me that it is irritation to my cervix that's causing it and probably from riding my horse originally and this morning aggravated it. Again it's literally nothing and if I wasn't looking for it I would just think I was seeing pee when I wiped- still a yellowy-brown colour. Looking forward to our scan next weekend though but I'm sure everything is fine in there!! Especially since I nearly stuffed myself to the point of vomiting at lunch today- was starving by the time I'd cooked and then ate 5 mouthfuls and was stuffed. Very unlike me!!

Apparently I'm now queen of positivity and TMI... Yay!!x

Masweetpea1 · 26/06/2016 18:09

sky, I've been similar today, in fact im nearly in tears right now. Trying to feed dd1 and she's throwing it all over the floor. Sad
I've been back to bed twice today, although i did have a mad hour where i thought it was a great idea to vacuum the whole house, mop the bathroom floor and clean the kitchen. Maybe that explains why i feel so bad now. No more cleaning!!
I'm off out later as well, oh god..... Hmm

LondonGirl83 · 26/06/2016 18:45

Lucy a removable bump sounds ace! Fingers cross for the scan.

Flying glad to hear you are still getting strong lines. When is your follow up scan?

Evergreen I'm so happy to hear you are finally feeling optimistic about this pregnancy

Sky my symptoms fluctuate a lot but I took an hours nap this afternoon and a two hour nap yesterday and I never ever sleep during the day.

My symptoms have moved up a notch today. I'm more bloated again after having my weight suddenly drop by 2 pounds yesterday and no bloating. My temperature is super high, my boobs are very soar and my first serious waves of nausea have kicked in. I'm just trying to rest up in bed for a bit.

wispaxmas · 26/06/2016 19:01

sky, the exhaustion is awful, but I'm ridiculously lucky that DD has a 3-4 hour nap every afternoon so I can relax and do nothing. I used to do loads of housework or DIY stuff, but now I am basically glued to the sofa and have actually napped a couple times, too!!

twocatsandatoddler · 26/06/2016 19:02

birdboo I'm a Dutch citizen too, although I've been here for over 30 years. I'm not sure what to do, I love this country and it is my home but I don't know whether I want to stick around and raise my children in such a divided nation. The Netherlands is starting to have a lot of the same problems we do though, so I'm not sure it's much better there either. Seriously considering moving to an independent Scotland in a few years!

Dutchy88 · 26/06/2016 19:07

twocats I've been living in The Netherlands for a couple of years and we now consider here home. We're seriously considering looking into citizenship when we get to five years - although things may have changed considerably by then.

Evergreen17 · 26/06/2016 19:25

Wispa what do you mean codeine is ok,??ConfusedConfused surely not!??

Evergreen17 · 26/06/2016 19:34

Bird that is awful about MIL
I am scared someone will tell me to go home too Sad
Sky I am so exhausted Sad

Masweetpea1 · 26/06/2016 19:35

wispa, evergreen , i think they say paracetamol is the only 'safe' painkiller. But there are women who have terrible back pain in pregnancy and they are put on codeine. The problem arises in the 3rd trimester, if the pregnant woman is on codeine regularly throughout that period then when the baby is born they may have withdrawal symptoms. So they try to make sure noone is on it in the 3rd trimester,.
I only know this as i have high doses of codeine for my eye pain and we discussed how to manage it last time. However I'm sure there are situations where women can't manage without it due to their pain.

Evergreen17 · 26/06/2016 19:58

Yes sweetpea good point. I suffer from back pain (as we speak) and usually put on cocodamol but I thought probably mot allowed Hmm
But I can imagine I will be having a lot more pain on third trimester Sad

Sienna9522 · 26/06/2016 20:04

Sky, the exhaustion is bad. Really bad. I'm desperately struggling to get through the work day. On my days off, I lie in until late and have a 2-4 hour nap during the day as well Shock I don'manage to get anything done. Also if I don't sleep when the tiredness kicks in, I start to feel sick. I've been brought to tears on a few occasions because of it. I sincerely hope the exhaustion ends when the first trimester does Sad

wispaxmas · 26/06/2016 20:09

Thanks for the info, Ma! I know my GP let me take cocodamol in 3rd trimester last time, but he did stress that it could only be for a day and not the 3 normally allowed, so must be because of what you said.

SpinALittleFaster · 26/06/2016 20:24

The exhaustion really horrible in the first trimester. I struggled to stay awake in the afternoons at work last time round. I have been absolutely floored today and I'm worrying about how I'll cope with DD on my own tomorrow. She has just started trying to run which is adorable but just watching her makes me want to go for a nap!

twocatsandatoddler · 26/06/2016 20:26

I took cocodamol very sparingly in my last pregnancy, it's the only thing that touches my bad headaches so I used it once or twice when absolutely necessary to function. I also got given it by a midwife in early labour so it can't be too harmful! I think as others have said its ok as long as not too many doses taken in a row as it can cause dependency, so I figured a couple of tablets taken as a one-off for a migraine would be ok.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 26/06/2016 20:30

I must be really lucky that the exhaustion hasn't really hit me yet, I hope it doesn't last long for you Sienna, Evergreen & Wispa Sad

CeeCeeEnnEss · 26/06/2016 20:32

I'm so tired that I feel ill. I've seen a friend today, and the effort to be normal was so great that it wiped me out. Dreading work!

Itslittlek · 26/06/2016 21:08

Hey ladies,

Ready everyone feeling knackered, I'm 9+2 and mine is lifting slightly....just to give you some hope! Who else was it on here using a Doppler? I got one and used it yesterday, managed to catch a very feint few seconds of a galloping heartbeat, very feint though! X

Blueskies80 · 26/06/2016 21:18

Hi guys
I am 9 plus 1 today and have been on the verge of nausea and sickness all day and had a morning and afternoon sleep. I'm exhausted to my core.
Not sure if it is a reaction to the vote and my worries for the future or more likely that and I'm overdoing it.
I remember in pregnancy 2 it cleared about 11 weeks so hoping that I will feel better soon, just got to get through these tough few weeks. My work is really busy as is dh with lots of travel so it can't go quickly enough.
Anyone else avoiding the kitchen, even cooking makes me feel sick!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 27/06/2016 06:42

Trying not to freak out this morning... had some brown blood when I wiped (sorry TMI). Will keep an eye on it today Sad

twocatsandatoddler · 27/06/2016 07:18

Today is my first day back at work after 10 days of holiday and I'm struggling! I'm 9+1, haven't had much nausea while away but it's kicked in this morning - must be the early start!

I don't have a scan date yet - booking appointment is tomorrow and no idea if I've even been referred yet or whether midwife will do it tomorrow, so might be a while off yet. I look the same at 9 weeks this time as I did at around 15-16 weeks last time (and I showed early first time round so was quite bit by then!) so I might have to tell work sooner than I'd like as there's no hiding it really!

GinandJazzHands · 27/06/2016 07:19

Thinking of you CeeCee. Only 5+6 here but woke yesterday and this morning feeling sick, and felt wiped all day yesterday. Also had a row with DH last night over nothing and we rarely argue Sad. Bit of a hormonal mess! Think I'm just going to take one day at a time.

McBaby · 27/06/2016 07:21

8+6 and so exhausted. Just woken up after 11 hours sleep and feel like I haven't slept. I keep falling asleep a few times a day.

Luckily we are camping so it is ok to fall asleep when you want to :)

SpinALittleFaster · 27/06/2016 07:51

Not feeling very positive this morning. Bleeding much heavier and more red than pink now. Just waiting to be able to speak to the midwife at 8:30.
