Due in February 2017...thread #2!

A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

dutchy get off your feet and try and rest as much as possible. I had this in my last pregnancy. If the bleeding gets heavier, or you have pain, please call GP OOH. Take care Flowers

Blueskies80 · 25/06/2016 17:42

To those having bleeding, not sure if this helps but is my experience. I had a subchronionic haematoma with no 1, who is nearly 5 now. I had it between weeks 5-9 and it was a sudden gush of blood with clots and then slowed and stopped after a couple of days. This repeated for four weeks. There was no pain associated with the bleeding, just slight discomfort.
I was scanned each time and saw heart beat each time. Bed rest made it better.
I have also had two miscarriages and the difference was that the bleeding was stop / start with the pregnancy that worked and the miscarriage bleed just kept on going and was painful.
Hoping all with bleeding get good news at the scans... The waiting is horrendous so I do really sympathise Flowers xxx

Hazandduck · 25/06/2016 17:56

I am 8 weeks and 3 days now too jojo I have been an emotional wreck hysterically crying one minute and feeling like the world is at an end, the next I'm singing to myself happy thinking of names 😂 OH is a little scared I think haha. It is like the worst period hormones ever. Other than that very little symptoms, maybe it is just more common than we think seeing as a few ladies on here all seem to be the same! I think stress is one of the most unhealthy things a person can inflict upon themselves, and in turn their unborn child, so I think the best thing I can do is try my best not to worry (I am the world's worst worrier!) X

SBSparkles · 25/06/2016 18:54

Hazel I'm having the same thing!! Really grumpy and down and moody!! At one point I was scared I was going to start my period it got so bad!! I'm doing a lot of flouncing about at the mo!!

FriendlyGhost · 25/06/2016 19:34

Just got back from seeing a close friend. The second thing she asked me was 'are you pregnant?' I had to lie and say not yet. Feel bad because she told me straight away when she was pregnant and I know she's trying again but I haven't even told my mum yet. I still reckon she guessed!
Now hiding upstairs while DH gives dd a rather late dinner. The smell almost made me sick so I've gone to lie down. It's only vegetable cannelloni so nothing offensive!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 25/06/2016 20:26

I'm weak and have ordered tests from Amazon. I can't afford to keep on with the CBD so I'm going to use cheapies to see what happens to the colour. The wait for my scan on Thursday is killing me! What's worse is that the hospital told me not to do anything high impact. I'm a runner, in a club and everything. My main method of stress relief and I can't. Was supposed to be doing a half marathon today as well. It's silly but so many little things are bothering me, roll on Thursday! I hope my little bean survived the bleeding on Thursday night

gumbootsandjandals · 25/06/2016 20:35

Flowers and lots of love to those who have had or are expecting bad news.

I took my first dose of metachlopramide today and it made me v v sleepy and a bit dizzy. It did reduce the nausea better than cyclizine but im not sure if I want to take it if it is going to knock me out.

My parents in law (Brexiters and a UKIP supporter - MIL - at that) are here overnight. Even though I'm now 8+1 we're not telling them yet. Hubby has just taken FIL down to the pub to announce he has taken voluntary redundancy so we thought our other news could wait. I told hubby if he wants to discuss Brexit he has to do it down at the pub, but he's not going to change their (mostly racist) views so I wouldn't even waste my breath on it. I told him he could perhaps mention that the whole thing has made me feel uneasy and unwelcome (as an immigrant) so they're not too surprised if we up sticks and move to another country.

Mysterycat23 · 25/06/2016 20:38

Hi everyone, can I join? I've been lurking and this is first post so please be kind if I get stuff wrong, have had to Google some abbreviations already Grin due date 4 Feb, midwife booked for 30 June. First time pregnant lady and very nervous because I'm in the middle of changing jobs and our finances are frankly crap. We have been TTC 12months+ and got BFP 2 weeks after I handed my notice in. It's hard to think of worse timing and my mum has already been getting her tuppence worth in (yes I have one of those nightmare mums of the type that crop up in aibu). In any case I feel slightly better knowing I'm not the only person in the world who is constantly nauseous and exhausted to the point of feeling like I'm actually dying, while simultaneously being starving hungry... Hmm SBSparkles, same about coffee, both tea and coffee just make me feel so ill, have cut both out totally. Diet coke seems OK tho Smile

Evergreen17 · 25/06/2016 20:40

Gum are you serious??!! So you are an immigrant (like me) and you have to deal with those parents in law?!! I couldnt. I couldnt. ConfusedConfused

Evergreen17 · 25/06/2016 20:41

Hi Mystery! Smile welcome

PhoebeGeebee · 25/06/2016 20:43

gumboots my in laws are exactly the same. I love them dearly but their attitudes and opinions are shocking. My FIL uses some horrendous language when talking about anyone not straight, white and British. I know I'll never change their minds so I bite my tongue (or leave the room). Our recent holiday with them (where Gee baby was conceived) featured a lot of 'I'm just going for a walk' moments.

However, I'm from the UK so I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you dealing with in laws with those views. I hope you get through the weekend without them saying anything too offensive to you!

Lucy1308 · 25/06/2016 20:48

Evening ladies!! Welcome to all the nee joiners!!

hope I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you've got good support around you.

I think my spotting has actually stopped. Small amounts when I wipe but it now makes my CM look yellowy rather than definite brown so I'm somewhat relieved. I've yet to see anything actually make it to my knickers- the first time in my life I've deliberately worn white pants so I can see the colour!! Hopefully it was nothing, maybe to do with riding my horse for the first time in a week or so the night before? Or maybe it's totally unrelated! It's reassuring to hear that other ladies have had spotting and their scans have all been good news so I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that it's nothing to worry about.

I have also got a lack of symptoms- still very tired but my boobs are noticeably less sore and in still not really nauseous (although I did notice what felt like travel sickness in the car earlier and I wouldn't normall suffer with that unless I was reading!) anyway I know that symptoms can definitely come and go so I'm trying not to worry. What will be will be I suppose! Won't make bad news easier to take, but I do know whatever happens it's not my fault and I now know that I can get pregnant.

Apparently positivity is my word of the day (very unusual for me... Must be a symptom!!)

gumbootsandjandals · 25/06/2016 21:08

I'm lucky I'm a whitey from the Commonwealth. The ILs have only ever made comments about EU migrants and Syrian refugees but I always like to remind them that I'm an immigrant too. Just this evening hubby was trying to recommend a Lebanese restaurant to FIL for when they next stay at their favoured hotel on Edgware Rd in London. FIL actually laughed, then mumbled about eating with his hands, eating sheep eyeballs, etc etc. They are ordinarily very nice people but definitely Little Britainers.

Lucy my brown spotting has changed to yellow. It did this a few days ago - went yellow for two days then back to brown. I am convinced it was because I exerted myself on Tuesday so have been trying to do as little as possible since then, while still looking after two kids.

Scarydinosaurs · 25/06/2016 21:14

Well today has been rubbish. Too sick to go to a party with my DH and DDs and had an argument with DH about not wanting to eat anything for fear of being sick etc. Relations are frosty in the dinosaur house tonight, I suspect because I didn't go, he couldn't drink/stay late and neither of us are currently backing down. I am blaming that on the fact I am pregnant and hormonal, he has no such excuse!

wispaxmas · 25/06/2016 21:18

ooooh, nice scan photo, ready!

gumboots, we had to break it to the ILs last night that our plans to move to Canada have been accelerated.. They didn't really believe us and kept saying things like 'emotions are all running high now' and 'of course you can look into it, but don't make any hasty decisions.' And this was even with us telling them 18 months ago that Canada was our plan eventually, by 2018-9. If your ILs are anything like mine they probably won't believe that you'll actually leave!

Welcome to the newbies!! I'll have to update the list again (unless someone else wants to do the honours....?)

Scarydinosaurs · 25/06/2016 21:32

Oh if you do wispa- this is DC3, I have two DDs

Masweetpea1 · 25/06/2016 21:52

I'll have a go at updating wispa, nothing better to do on a sat night!

gumbootsandjandals · 25/06/2016 22:10

wispa we have never mentioned moving to ILs but they definitely know it's a possibility since they often tell us they could never fly long haul. They have friends whose daughter recently decided to stay in the US with her husband, and they mentioned how selfish this woman was. So, news of us moving will not go down well!

wispaxmas · 25/06/2016 22:20

Gum, that's awful, I have a friend who's from New Zealand, but lives here with her British husband. His family have manipulated and guilted them into not moving to New Zealand because her FIL has MS and they say they could never visit (which somehow trumps her family not being able to visit her in the UK), but I just cannot get over how selfish it is of them to keep their son and DIL from living their own lives. It's difficult being in a multinational marriage. Wherever we live we will be sacrificing time with one of our families. I've been finding it so difficult in recent years as my stepdad (who has been more like a dad than birth dad) has stage 4 lung cancer and if going downhill, but I live across an ocean and can do nothing to support my mom through it other than talking on FaceTime. I hate to think I could be considered 'selfish' for wanting to relocate to be near my family. Surely it's equally selfish to remain in the UK. Ugh, I've gone off on a tangent totally unrelated to being preggo.

I'm feeling awful nausea and heartburn this evening. I wish I was lucky enough this time to give these symptoms a miss!!

Amazing work sweetpea I can't believe how many of us there are!

Scarydinosaurs · 26/06/2016 05:24

Wow- top work sweet!!

Lucy1308 · 26/06/2016 07:58

Wow great list sweetpea!!

I have taught myself to crochet (yay YouTube!!) and am doing a chevron blanket- gender neutral of course!! I also decided last night that I would book an early scan. Partly for reassurance that this spotting was nothing but also because I have a hen do coming up at 10 weeks so will have to tell them since it involves spa treatments, segwaying and drinking!! Will be nice to know everything is ok before I spill the beans to them all. Will also mean we can tell OHs parents with some sort of concrete proof that it's happening haha!! Booked for a week today so not long to wait!!

Had a dream last night that I got my dates wrong and I was actually 22 weeks with twins Shock oh, and my bump was removable... Hmm

Evergreen17 · 26/06/2016 08:00

Brilliant list sweetpea SmileSmile
