A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Sunshineface123 · 26/06/2016 08:27

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok! Sorry been quiet this week, been hit by the exhausted bug, am sleeping a lot!! Had my midwife appt on Thursday which was good but bit scary! Booked an early scan for next sat when I'll be 7, 6. Very excited and a bit nervous for that! Smile

ButtonTum · 26/06/2016 09:18

Morning folks

Thanks for the updated list masweetpea

Thanks also for those of you with ideas on avoiding drinking. I managed to fake a headache for the first night of my conference this week - however what didn't go unnoticed was my order of a well-done burger and questioning the cheese they put on it...So despite the fact I wasn't drinking (usually a major giveaway) I had to fess up. Sworn colleagues to secrecy as only 7+2 today.

Sorry to all those of you expecting bad news. This weekend apart from a little dizziness (which could have been put down to some vigorous gardening yesterday - rock on) I am now entirely symptom-less. Glad I'm not the only one, but just about to POAS for my sanity.

Don't get my started on baby-boomer attitudes evergreen and gum. My in laws are actually v reasonable, it's my parents I have to walk away from and as such never discuss anything even remotely political - mother especially is gutted she has raised "a loony lefty" Envy

Masweetpea1 · 26/06/2016 09:38

Thanks all, though the credit has to go to wispa for creating the list, i just updated it Grin

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 26/06/2016 09:39

I'm desperately trying to think of excuses for not drinking on a team night out on Wednesday. I usually drink wine, so it's not like I can pretend I'm drinking a G&T for example without the G. If I did get a glass of wine and put it anywhere near my face to pretend to sip, I may actually vomit on the spot!

Actually, the thought of going out at all is filling me with dread as once I've finished work all I want to do is crawl in to bed. My nausea really kicks in in the evening. Sad

FriendlyGhost · 26/06/2016 09:46

Thanks for the updated list. Lovely to see so many people on here!
Gum your IL's would make me so cross. My MIL has said a few things in the past that have made me mad. Not about immigration but other stuff. Some people can't be argued with! I'm lucky my parents are loony lefties and my dad especially has campaigned tirelessly for remain. Seeing them next week so I'll be interested to hear their perspective.
I'm feeling rough again today but DH has been wonderful and taken dd downstairs while I lounge in bed. This might be the first time ever and she's probably been given chocolate for breakfast but I don't care!

wispaxmas · 26/06/2016 10:00

Thanks for updating the list, masweetpea!

Lucy, I've had some crazy dreams recently, too Grin

As for me, I lavished in a glorious lie in this morning, but since getting up have been suffering back pain.. I normally have to take ibuprofen with codeine for it.. But I believe ibuprofen is a no-no, even if codeine is somehow ok. I'm wondering if I can take cocodamol if it gets bad.. I know you can in later pregnancy, just not sure about first tri.

Mysterycat23 · 26/06/2016 11:12

Hi Evergreen! \waves

Thanks masweetpea for updating list!

Lucy awesome, love to crochet! Been working on a (gender neutral) jumper in grey and red. What colours \ yarn have you chosen for your chevron blanket?

Ifatfirst how about saying you're on medication and can't mix alcohol with it? Depending how close you are to colleagues might have to come up with a back story as well Wink

SpinALittleFaster · 26/06/2016 11:17

I've started spotting :(. I had this with DD and was told that I have a cervical ectropian but still worried as hell. Can't get in touch with my midwife and not sure if they'll do anything since I only just had a scan on Friday.

GinandJazzHands · 26/06/2016 12:08

Hi ifatfirst could you be all up for going but suddenly come down with a splitting headache or other such illness at home time so you can't make it? Might be kinder on yourself esp. if you are shattered.
spin it must be so stressful and worrying my lovely. Try to hang on to the thought that all was well at the scan you just had so the chances are really low, esp if you've had this in pregnancy before? Thinking of all bleeding and waiting xxx

birdboo · 26/06/2016 13:00

Thanks for add us sweetpea

I fear for my Dutch mother-in-law now. She has lived in the UK for 40 plus years and has always proudly stuck up for other EU migrants as well as herself. In two days she has already been told that she should think going home. DH is debating taking up his Dutch citizenship again too. It feels crazy to think to what our tiny 2nd generation immigrant is going to be born into. Sad

mynameisntLinda · 26/06/2016 13:57

Don't think I introduced myself.but hello:)
Got bfp yesterday so it seems I'm due end of Feb although not suture because I've no idea about my cycle length because of bf.

I avoided drinking first time round by saying I was on antibiotics and when I was on a hen do the barman pretended to put vodka in my lemonade. So people thought I was drinking alcohol.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 26/06/2016 14:04

Thanks for updated list sweetpea!

I got my One-Step cheapies today, used 1 about half an hour ago, line is the same colour as the control line. So it is looking more and more like bean survived my bleed on Thursday! I still have some brown bleeding, but it is only with wiping now so I think that is a good sign as well. Obviously I won't know for sure until Thursday but at least I know that for now, things are looking up Smile

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 26/06/2016 14:58

I forgot to ask, has anyone else had a really runny nose? Apparently it can be a pregnancy symptom around 6 weeks. I feel fine, no other cold/flu symptoms apart from the odd cough... It's so weird! Confused

mshepp · 26/06/2016 15:55

Me and my fiancée are expecting our first child on 11th February. Impressed with the efficiency of the NHS so far, visited doctor midday on Thursday and had a letter with all the blood test and scan dates on the Saturday!

Blood test - 13/07/2016
First Scan - 04/08/2016

SkyLucy · 26/06/2016 16:25

Welcome msshep! You lucky thing - I saw the GP over 2 weeks ago and heard nothing yet!

Spin - take care of yourself and try (try!) not to worry. As you know, lots of us have had bleeding and it really doesn't always mean the worst. Hope you're able to get it checked out very soon. Flowers

Everytime I do anything requiring more than sitting on the sofa I seem to bleed. Today I went for a walk so then had blood, yesterday I tried to do some cleaning and has blood. I'm on my feet all day at work (teacher) so no idea how I'm going to get through the next two days until my scan.

SpinALittleFaster · 26/06/2016 16:36

Thanks for the sympathy ladies. I've spoken to my lovely midwife and she's not too worried at the moment. I have been told to call back tomorrow morning if it gets worse but for now we're assuming it's the same problem as last time.

Nice to see a familiar face Linda ;).

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 26/06/2016 16:39

Dutchy I hope you're feeling ok. I'm also still bleeding, no more clots and it's more brown than red. I'm taking comfort in the fact that I'm still getting good, strong lines on tests, it's all I can do. I hope your bleed is just one of those things and it calms down. Please let us know how your scan goes Flowers

Dutchy88 · 26/06/2016 16:53

Thanks FlyingSpaghetti it's generally brown but the odd red bit. I've got no more CB digis left (I've used far too many but I really want to but another pack as they are very comforting). I've just got to make it to Tuesday evening. I've not had any clots which I'm taking as a good thing but every time I think the bleeding is done it starts again.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 26/06/2016 17:00

dutchy I hope it's something like a random bleed in there that isn't going to affect baby, maybe you moving around keeps it open if that makes sense. I'm the same with the CBDs!! I really can't afford it anymore so I've bought cheap ones and I'm just going to keep an eye on the colour of the line. That way I get my POAS fix but it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!

Scarydinosaurs · 26/06/2016 17:10

flying fx for those cheapies for you, but please don't get too hung up on comparing colours, it is so subjective and not controlled at all. Please don't place too much importance upon them Flowers

I've just had an odd text from my community midwife from last baby asking to come over and do my notes to send to the hospital! Very odd. I've got a booking in appointment at the hospital in two weeks- I wonder what this could be for?

ButtonTum · 26/06/2016 17:27

Flying yes on the runny nose! I was blocked up from pretty much the day I found out. Only just clearing up this week (2.5 weeks ago!). Apparently it's because of all the expansion of blood vessels- has a bigger impact in smaller places like nostrils!
So glad to hear you're still in the game.

wispaxmas · 26/06/2016 17:31

Flying, the joys of pregnancy rhinitis! I can't be sure mine isn't just hay fever, though...

SkyLucy · 26/06/2016 17:55

So...exhaustion...how bad is it for you all? So far today I've:

  • woken up
  • gone back to bed
  • eaten breakfast
  • had a bath
  • gone back to bed
  • went to tesco
  • sat down for an hour
  • peeled six potatoes
  • now want to go back to bed....

It's ridiculous!! I'm close to tears!! I'm 6+2...is this normal?? How on earth do you ladies with DCs manage?!
