All was ok on monitor. Started squirming away after he'd been given a good prod by midwife!
Good luck to those who are getting good to the business end! X

Thepurplegiraffe · 29/06/2015 12:25

Thanks for the new thread Broody. Nothing happening here which is good as cs is booked for 9 days time.

Marking place

Luckystar82 · 29/06/2015 13:26

Thanks broody for new post. Congrats to mistersafetycatch and good luck to mustbe and stinky

Looking forward to more birth announcements.

I'm 38 weeks today, off to MW at 3 so hope to learn baby is 0/5 palpable. I can really feel a lot of twinges down below now, so I think she is almost ready to come out.

Had a lovely baby shower yesterday - we went for cocktails/ mocktails in a fancy bar, which is what I wanted to do because it's not something I would do with a baby! My friends bought lots of treats for me rather than baby which was really sweet of them.

BadIdeaBear · 29/06/2015 13:37

Thanks for the new thread broody.

38+1 and my first day of maternity leave today (although it's actually really just annual leave for 2 weeks). Have had unbelievably productive morning sorting out, organising and cleaning all the kitchen cupboards whilst listening to birth affirmations and then a bit of Bjork.

Now, torn between sitting outside in the warmth or watching Wimbledon... decisions, decisions.

charlieis30 · 29/06/2015 14:04

Thanks for the new thread broody.

Hips are hurting like a mofo today, first time I've been in proper pain. Will have to try to get to see chiro later in the week. In the meantime, ouchy.

2 more days of work before mat leave wahey!!!

NotPennysBoat · 29/06/2015 14:39

Marking place, dreading the imminent heatwave and hoping to stay inside as much as possible this week!

broodylicious · 29/06/2015 14:42

Same here pennys! 34 degrees predicted for Wednesday ShockConfused With a toddler, it's going to be difficult to stay in or avoid going out but I'm thinking we can get out early and be back for 11/1130 so we avoid the worst of the heat?

Thanks for the new thread broody!
38+6 today. In laws arriving on Friday for 2 weeks Sad. Dreading the heat this week, especially with DD's leg being in plaster as we can't even go in the paddling pool. Feeling pretty grumpy and down about everything!

jmojo · 29/06/2015 15:37

Looking forward to the sun this week! DH arriving this afternoon after 3 months apart. Just had a sweep and so baby can come whenever she wishes!! 38+ 3!! Grin

dancinglorna1984 · 29/06/2015 16:01

Hello All, I just thought I would join in with the waiting if that's ok. I am 35+4 today and currently sat at home on my first day of leave before my mat leave starts in two weeks. I ventured out for a walk to the shops but didn't stay out very long as this weather is killing me! I am quite surprised that so many babies have arrived already!! Smile

gluenotsoup · 29/06/2015 16:06

Just checking in. Big congratulations to those whose babies have already arrived, and good luck to those who are at the beginning of labour!

38+1 here, and struggling now. Back ache permanently, sore hips, can't sleep, and a compulsion to clean. ..Smile

smallgreenbanana · 29/06/2015 16:10

Welcome dancing Smile and welcome to maternity leave badidea Wimbledon made me fall asleep - so soporific!

Glad LO is ok nurse

Had an early walk to avoid the heat. Will have to be even earlier tomorrow. Things are definitely different this week. My walks have slowed right down and I have to stop more to deal with BH and/or sharp pains. Definitely something going on in the cervix area with all these stabby pains!

SueV14 · 29/06/2015 18:05

i feel with everyone who is dreading the heat! I was born in a country where summers are easily 40+C and I loved the heat up until 5 years ago or so.. I guess its a age thing :) Cant stand it now and wondering if any of you ladies have a good fan at home? I'm thinking a free standing floor fan and have no clue. Was thinking to get a cheepo cause not sure how often we will need it but hubby says he has thrown out a cheepo (which I thought was an air humidifier?!) and we should get a decent one we will keep for good. Maybe even one of those dyson thingies which look like they come from the future and can do both heat and cool? Any insight anyone?

Thepurplegiraffe · 29/06/2015 18:08

I quite like the heat but on Wednesday I will be looking after 2 toddlers and a 4 year old for a few hours. Already feeling rubbish so not sure how I am going to cope with that.

Naturegirl82 · 29/06/2015 19:09

Just checking in.

38 weeks today. Had another osteopath appointment this afternoon. Movement is getting more and more restricted and more painful which is annoying. Difficult with a toddler and a massive bump!

House renovations are finished for the time being though which is good so I've finally sorted some baby stuff out so I'm happy for baby to come whenever they like now Smile

Sherbet38 · 29/06/2015 19:21

Checking in. Thanks broody for the new post.

Congratulations mister. Good luck mustbe and stinky. Welcome dancing.

Mat leave started on Friday. Had a lovely relaxing weekend. Went out for a meal on Sunday with friends, possibly the last baby free!

Had a pregnancy massage today, I'd been bought it as a gift & it was lovely. She did lots on my legs to try and bring the swelling down. I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and I really would like respectable sized feet and ankles on show! Spent this afternoon sat in the sun Smile

I could get used to this time off work, not that it'll be as relaxed with a baby Wink Had a few twinges, but nothing major, so who knows if baby is thinking of making an appearance soon or not!

Tilly73 · 29/06/2015 19:23

Just marking my place
So jealous of all the lovely ladies who already have their babies Smile
39+2 today going for a sweep on Wednesday and if nothing by then induced on the Saturday...hoping to go into natural labour though as I will be able to stay on the mlu and go in the pool
Sue I bought a fan and it's a godsend...I'm so warm!!

broodylicious · 29/06/2015 19:34

Ooh sue, I will be insanely jealous if you get one of those Dyson fans, I'm a long time admirer of them! Joking aside, it seems a great investment to me as it's a fan for all seasons. We've got a tower fan that really throws out a chill but I'd love a little air con unit as well. Last year, it reached 31 degrees in dd's bedroom and it was horrendous - her room was on the front and it got the sun on it all afternoon and evening so was impossible to keep cool. We've since moved house and thankfully her new room gets just the morning sun, nothing in the afternoon or evening.

Class/tour of the birthing centre tonight....it's gorgeous. Talk about an incentive to do everything I can to stay there. Still totally accept that it's out of my hands to an extent. But yay! So exciting!

broodylicious · 29/06/2015 20:36

charlie, is it a standalone centre or part of/next to the hospital? I was going to go to a fabulous mlu but it's 40mins away so I'm now opting to go for the birth centre that's attached to the hospital. Same as you now, just hoping that I remain low risk! My BP rose significantly just before birth last time so fx that doesn't happen again.

MrsFbabyNo1 · 29/06/2015 21:56

Thanks Broody. Lots of posts to catch up on!

Keep going must and stinky - we are your personal cheerleading squad for motivation / support! Raines, your labour envy has rubbed off on me too. I'm trying to not notice odd niggles / symptom spot for hoping it's my turn soon!

Glad all ok nurse and welcome dancinglorna!

Clstow and lucky nice to hear your baby showers were all good.

First day off on mat leave, tis my bday today and spent it out shopping with my mum for baby and me bits. We were out 10-5pm, so my feet were literally mooosive when we got back. Did havea a coffee and lunch break but was probably walking for 5hrs+ odd. Hope it's helped baby start thinking about engaging at least!

Tomorrow I'm getting a new haircut, then sunbathing a touch although avoiding hottest parts of the day (get me some feel good chemicals going!). Weds I've got a 1.5hrs specialist preg pamper massive n facial booked (by a midwife / trained massage therapist - so might ask her bout engagement).

Charlie same as me about the mlu, fingers crossed we can go / Stay there but what will be will be.

Jmojo bet you can't wait to see your dh. Enjoy! Wink

BadIdeaBear · 29/06/2015 22:53

Oh yes, small, I agree that Wimbledon is quite soporific - I'm wondering whether it can become part of my relaxation practices...!

And sue and broody my DH looked at the Dyson fan online today - it's a beauty, isn't it? But so incredibly expensive...
