I'm using the I'm on anti biotics this weekend! But anyone got other excuses I can use? I need to fob off the same person this weekend and also in about 5 weeks so can't really say I'm on anti biotics twice as I'm never ill! Lol.

PinkaColada · 18/03/2015 12:32

I would use the 'I'm so hungover' or 'I had lots to drink last weekend and the sight of wine makes me feel ill' excuse. Someone I know was using lent, another had a very convincing uti antibiotics excuse. It's going to be a long 6.5 weeks here!

BleachedBarnet · 18/03/2015 12:41

I was thinking of going the St Paddy's Day hangover route - that's a one-use excuse though Wink

cryingbabymess · 18/03/2015 12:41

I'm going to use the UTI excuse! I can't use lent as drank Saturday past with the same person and I also can't use I was too drunk as only had a few as I had an inclining I was with baby! Lol. It's bloody difficult! It's my "work best mate" so I want to tell her but can't! OH and I agreed we would see the MW first! Plus I wanna tell our families as literally only we know!! Ahhh! Need more excuses for end of April too ??

NewMrsX · 18/03/2015 12:45

Thanks Bleached and Karmanna

I was told all women pregnant after ectopic are scanned at around 6 weeks but that may just be my hospital. Fx they scan you for peace of mind.

I've just rang the midwives for a booking in appointment now I know all is well. I had to leave a message. What sort of time frame can I expect to be called back in do you think? I've read stories of women waiting weeks to hear back from a midwife!

Just about to make us a new thread will put a link on here when its done

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 18/03/2015 12:56

Ann - don't worry. I had DD downstairs in.her Moses basket from.the word go or in a reclining seat in the kitchen. DS hardly noticed her until she was about 16 weeks and more alert. She was fascinated watching him then.

Even now - I would still say that DS gets more than his fair share of attention as he is more mobile. Although he does like to go and sort his cars in peace in one corner of the room. He likes to help me now with DD by getting her toys and fetching nappies etc. And they both nap at the same time which is bliss.

UnderEstherMate · 21/03/2015 14:21

Hi again ladies. I've been absent from the thread for a little while, but I'm in need of some support today. I've been bleeding this morning and had some clotting too. I went to the hospital but because I'm so early on (apparently 5 weeks rather than the 7 I thought) the scan wasn't showing much so they can't see if I'm miscarrying or spitting heavily. I have to go back in two weeks to see if am still pregnant or not.

Sorry to put a downer on the thread. I haven't told anyone about my pregnancy yet (aside from DP) so have limited shoulders to cry on!

UnderEstherMate · 21/03/2015 14:22

Just noticed new thread... I'll repost on there

Hello all ...

It's been a long time since I lasted posted but wanted to update you all!

So been having lots of food aversions, nausea, one episode of vomiting and generally feeling shattered. I work as a doctor in a hospital so you'd think I should know what is to be expected! Sadly this isn't the case.

Anyway, after some very strenuous weeks of long on calls and nights at work I had been to occupational health as I was concerned about how much I was doing and that I seem to be picking up every bug going. They said they would start the process of risk assessments ... I don't hold out for this being a very quick process.

Sadly yesterday I started with heavy brown discharge and about 50p worth of fresh blood, no cramping but omg, what a blind panic. Thankfully the local women's and children's hospital agreed to see me today and a scan showed I was 7 weeks 3 days and I saw the heart beat but no cause for the bleed. I'm just so grateful and wanted to tell you all to listen to your bodies! I am certainly taking this as a shock. Will be off to my GP for a note to get my hours reduced.

The midwife I saw did tell me that any bleeding or brown discharge should be seen and scanned ... I just don't think we are told much till they see you between 8–12 weeks .. Hope all the rest of you are plodding along nicely, just want to be in the 2nd trimester!

Xx
