Climbing aboard! BFP last Thursday when I did a period drama style swoon getting up from the sofa. Now just over 4 weeks with EDD of October 31st although I suspect it'll get moved into November.

This is DC2 for me, my little boy has just turned 3.

Trying not to get too excited yet. My pregnancy with DS was a happy surprise at 10 weeks so I've never done early pregnancy anxiety before. I seem to be good at it though Grin

WinterBabyof89 · 23/02/2015 20:28

Hi tiny & congrats on your bfp!

Still quite quiet this thread, but it's picking up!

Hello everyone!
it still doesn't feel real.. I'm waiting for my first dizzy spell or wave of nausea!

Tinymrscollings · 23/02/2015 20:52

Thanks Winter! And congratulations to you all too. I can't do up my jeans this evening. I'm going to be a WHALE Confused

WinterBabyof89 · 23/02/2015 21:07

Hahaha tiny me too! We can be whales together - sure a few ladies will join us! Bit of bloating going on which I remember from last time can't possibly be due to the two packets of crisp I've just had, or the shortbread either

Looking forward to buying new maternity jeans.. My last ones were so comfy but had to throw them out as I'd worn them every day for 26 weeks and they'd faded.. Was a sad day when I binned them! Ha..

Our numbers are growing Grin

I guess it's still really early for people to be due in November. I think I'm due on 1st or 2nd and it's only just 2 weeks since I ovulated.

My nausea kicked in full throttle this morning. Was worried I'd have to dump DD with a load of random other mums to rush to the toilet, then was eyeing up the nearest drains on the walk home Blush

Juniper44 · 23/02/2015 21:45

I'm hoping I won't need to buy much in the way of maternity clothing. DD was born in October, so I've got the right clothes for each season already!

Tinymrscollings · 23/02/2015 22:17

I've got my brother's wedding in May. All being well I'm going to be at that puffy pre-bump stage. Lord knows what I'll be wearing but it sure ain't gonna be the lovely dress I bought and put away for the occasion. DH suggested one of these. For that I'm going to bite him very hard on the hand when I'm pushing.AngryGrin

kep1979 · 24/02/2015 10:53

I'm trying to remember when I needed maternity wear last time... my youngest will be 9 in July! Going to have to go shopping for new bras this weekend as my boobs are exp-anding at a ridiculous rate, plus all my lovely new tight fitted work shirts are going to last about another week at this rate!

Has everyone called their GPs? Again, I can't remember if I did it immediately or waited.

Juniper44 · 24/02/2015 12:07

I've booked a gp appointment for next Wednesday evening as I dont want to have to take a toddler too.

I went into maternity trousers at about 11 weeks, although I actually lost about 5lb as I'd stopped drinking Blush My sister gave birth last week so I've had most of my maternity clothes returned, which is useful. My boobs didn't grow at all last time. Not fair!

kep1979 · 24/02/2015 12:30

Yeah I reckon I'll lose weight 'cause of no alcohol too Blush. But am feeling mega bloated.

Called GP, they have booking in appointment at between 6-8 weeks.... they have booked me in for 2 weeks time (although I'll not yet be 6 weeks). If I remember rightly from last time it was a bit of a waste of time, just really to classify as high or low risk. Anyone know if it is similar now?

WinterBabyof89 · 24/02/2015 12:44

My GP don't confirm pregnancy & refer straight to midwives.. Feels like forever away..

Anybody else being hit hard by pregnancy? Every subsequent pregnancy I've had has affected me more. The first I blitzed through, second was a bit tougher and had slight nausea & tiredness in first 12 weeks. This time, it's all started so early on! I'm so tired, nausea mainly in mornings, dizzy, sore boobs, irritable, short temper, constant need to pee.. The change in hormones is not agreeing with me at all haha..
Honestly, I'm a dream to live with atm.. Grin

kep probably still the same.. Some pee, blood and leaflets from my memory

kep sorry, with the GP they just checked for pregnancy, gave me vits & that was it really.. It was the midwife booking in appt with bloods etc..

Maybe it's twins, Winter seeing as you got a result so early? Eep!

I think the process depends on the hospital / GP. I changed hospitals at 30 weeks last time (so had a new booking in, in which I was counted as overweight as I had a high BMI.... well, yes... 30 weeks pregnant...!) and most antenatal was done at the GPs, whereas in my previous area, it'd all been at the hospital.

My DD is 16mo so my last experience of this was pretty much 2 years ago, so things might have changed since! I was really hoping soft eggs were OK now but it seems not. Damn. Although it seems the advice about avoiding underwires has changed.

WinterBabyof89 · 24/02/2015 13:11

juniper my DH would faint if it turned out to be twins.. I'd love twins but don't think I'm lucky enough to get them! My cousin's wife is due with identical twins this spring..they're gonna be adorable!

The soft eggs is gutting isn't it! Haha.. I was baking with ds a few days back and couldn't lick the spoon.. Ha

Well, I really need to stop peeing on sticks :-) 12 dpo today, and taken 10 tests since Sunday night's positive (including two in the loos at work)! TBF until I'm officially late I don't think I'll quite believe it!

Symptom-wise my boobs are tender and growing, and I am absolutely shattered. Also waking up in the early hours to wee, which is really annoying. I really can't remember when the sickness started last time, I think it was quite early.

I am noticing guidelines have changed loads since my last pregnancy in 2006.... back then my GP said pregnany ladies could drink 2-3 units, 2-3 times per week (tbf my midwife said it was more like 1-2). Plus I can't remember being warned off caffeine. Unfortunately three of my dietary staples favourite foods are wine, brie and pate Sad Oh well, this is definitely a long awaited happy event, so will totally be worth it she keeps telling herself

Porchrules · 24/02/2015 20:35

Room for a first timer?! Very nervous and don't know how I'm gonna get through the first twelve wks without going totally barmy! Got my bfp on Thursday at 10dpo - digi on Monday said 2-3 wks and got my midwife apt booked in a few wks!

I actually cannot believe it at all...Sore boobs and feel a bit odd but no nausea or anything yet which makes it so hard to get your head around! Telling our folks on Sunday and my best friend - I need to be able to talk about it with mum and friend or I'll actually go bananas Blush But it feels weird even saying 'I'm pregnant' out loud - I tried it in the mirror Blush Blush

Nice to meet you all btw!

WinterBabyof89 · 24/02/2015 21:36

kep totally worth it, but you can still grieve the loss of your staples!!

Congrats & best of luck porch for telling the Parentals & bestie... It will be nice to have people around you to confide in Smile

Hello, I'd like to jump aboard please! I'm 36, I've been TTC#1 for 20 months and it finally happened on Tamoxifen (didn't realise it could be an alternative to Clomid)! Worked first time for me after trying vitamins, inositol, pre-seed, fertility monitors etc. ...

Anyway, got my BFP last Thursday and I think I'm due end of October (24/25th). Thought I'd jump on this month as the October one looks pretty full! Smile

WinterBabyof89 · 25/02/2015 08:58

Welcome crumbelina
October bus Is very full & they all seem to be very far along compared to us!
Congrats on your long awaited bfp!

Hi girls! Smile

Room for another one?

Got my BFP on Saturday and thinking i'll be due very early November!
Had some spotting and a massive temp drop on the day I got my BFP so I have spent all weekend sure that AF would arrive as scheduled on Monday but I am officially late now so I am feeling a little bit better.

I am so worried that it's all an cruel trick and that there is actually no baby in there, I am stressing myself out so much. My SIL has 2 mc last year, before which I didn't know how common it was, so I think that is making it worse for me. There is no reason to think that anything is going to go wrong for me though is there? I am thinking an early scan might help me relax a little bit!

Congratulations to all of you lovely ladies, it's great to have you all to share it with!

WinterBabyof89 · 25/02/2015 09:07

Loads of bloody room, come on in!
Nice to see you moving over from the feb bus reeree

It's a nice feeling finally being late isn't it - even though a bfp should convince us! Ha..

Everybody's experiences are so different so you should certainly believe this could happen for you Smile
sorry to hear about your SILs MCs.. Flowers

Thank you winter

I am really worried about telling her my news, she is so lovely and I know she will be gracious but I really don't want to make her sad.

It is a nice feeling being late, I still spend a large part of the day in the toilet checking my knickers though, haha! My colleagues must think I am crazy!!

Tinymrscollings · 25/02/2015 09:48

Welcome, new BFPs! I'm starting to feel rough now. It's all coming flooding back from last time..Confused

WinterBabyof89 · 25/02/2015 09:49

She probably will be a little sad for her, but at the same time happy for you guys.. You sound like a considerate person so I'm sure you'll let her know in a sensitive way..

I also have some fears around telling SIL we're pregnant as & her DH have been trying for a year with no luck yet (that we know of anyway).. It's part of the reason we are waiting to tell people until later on - we hope that she's pregnant by then so it'll be a bit easier for her.. She wouldn't begrudge us anyway because of our loss last year, but got all my fx for her bfp.

It's a hard habit to kick, knicker checking..screw your colleagues, you check those knickers all day long if it makes you happy haha
