Hi welsh congrats and welcome!! Most activity happens on Facebook these days so if you want to join one of the other ladies on here will be along soon to send you an invite Grin

zahaziland · 10/04/2015 10:37

Hello All,

Another late-comer here, but I hope it's not too late to join!
I am 30+1, and after 2 previous MCs only just starting to believe (dare hope) that this time it could work.

I am 35, this will be DC#1 and I haven't got anything (literally) for the baby yet. Has everyone else already got everything sorted?

Chookford · 10/04/2015 11:24

zaha congrats and welcome... They are a few ladies on here that are pregnant after one (myself included) or several miscarriages, the fear never goes away but it does fade with each day... I do have most things I need but I already have a dd who is 5, so most things I kept from her but don't worry all you need to start with is a car seat, Moses basket or crib and bottles if your planning to bottle feed everything else can be purchased as and when you need it, you will be fine Smile

zahaziland · 10/04/2015 11:37

Thanks Chook - I feel a little reassured that I still have time to sort things out ;-) My DP brother has 2 young DC, so we will be able to get some things from them.

I am currently living abroad, so some things are different (maternity leave, medical care, etc) - I am hoping to work up to end of May and then I will get 13 weeks off after the birth (it doesn't seem much compared to the UK where I know most people take a year off!).

I'll poke my head in here as I'm not on the Facebook group.
Hope all is going well for everyone. I'm 33 weeks tomorrow!

Have there been any early arrivals for June ladies? x

zahaziland · 10/04/2015 15:09

Hi MrsBeeBeeBee, I'm not on Facebook either, so I hope that there is still some activity on this thread.
I've been going back through the messages and I understand that there has been at least one early arrival - I hope the baby is doing well.
You're a whole 3 weeks ahead of me, which seems like an eternity. I feel like I've been pregnant 7 years instead of 7 months!

Are people having Braxton Hicks contractions? I think I had a few (3-4) in the evenings when I went to bed some weeks ago, but they seemed to have stopped now, so I'm not even really sure if they really were Braxton-Hicks. I do something feel a heavy sensation, but not sure it's really a contraction...

Hi new people!

We have everything we need now and the nursery is finally complete! I feel so much more relaxed. Baby won't be in the nursery until at least 6 months old but there's no way I'd want to be getting it ready with a baby and toddler to deal with too.

I'm 33 weeks today!

I haven't had Braxton hicks but I didn't have any with DD either.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 10/04/2015 16:03

I've not had any braxton hicks either I don't think.
Can't remember if I did with DD or not.

Zaha I was originally due on 2nd June when I joined this thread, but then my dating scan moved me to 30th May.
My DD was 13 days overdue though so I'm definitely expecting a June baby so thought I'd stick in here!

MrsBeeBeeBee · 10/04/2015 16:06

ooh well done on getting things ready cup
we've not started yet!
Not buying much for second child although they do need something to sleep in as we no longer have a Moses basket.
Baby will be moving into DDs current room and she'll go up into our spare room. but not sorting that for a while yet !

Chookford · 10/04/2015 18:53

I've not had any Brixton hicks either at 34 weeks but didn't with my dd... So may not get any this time again...

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 10/04/2015 23:18

Hello new people Smile Nice to have some action on this thread!

We have everything we "need" I think for this baby as like a lot of others on here we have things from last time round. I haven't actually been through the stuff yet though to check I have what I think I have! Had a phone call today though to say that the new bassinet mattress I ordered had arrived though so that is good to have in stock. Haven't got anything like nappies yet though!

Am currently feeling v pissed off as travelled all day with toddler dd in tow to visit mil. There is no problem with my mil per se (and compared with some you read about on mn she's positively angelic!) but I would still say we have a slightly strained relationship. Not at all helped by her doing things like leaving it til 9.45pm to serve an evening meal/dealing with cat food and human food simultaneously and not washing hands in between/not cleaning bathrooms/forgetting that pg women can't drink alcohol so having nothing other than water to offer etc. Now I know some of those complaints are very much "first world problems" but it's so far removed from my own idea of hospitality, and I'm pg and tired and sore and have driven a long way to get here so I'm still going to whinge about them!! Shock

Bazza2 · 11/04/2015 00:14

Hi mrs and zaha!

comeagainforbigfudge · 12/04/2015 18:59

Hello all, I've totally fallen away from this group. It seemed to get very quiet and I didn't want to go over to fb.

jam how's your daughter? And baby? Coming along I hope?

That's me now 31 weeks and finished work! Final straight.... its either going to drag by or baby will be here in a flash!

zahaziland · 12/04/2015 20:43

hello comeagain - how exciting to start your maternity leave. Not long now before thread babies start arriving!

pasbeaucoup, I understand your frustration - I think I would have lost my patience if dinner hadn't been served until 9.45pm!

BIL brought us quite a few secondhand baby things yesterday, so now we have stroller system, cot bed, bouncer and baby bath! Our flat has been taken over my baby stuff...

Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment, maybe I'll get a quick peak with the ultrasound (my official 3rd trimester ultrasound is on May 5th).

nikijm · 12/04/2015 21:32

Blimey there has been a thread resurrection Wink... Glad your all doing well.
I'm 33 weeks now, had a scare 2 weeks ago when i had some bleeding and started contracting but that died away and baby is still cozy inside.
Anyone who wants to join FB send me an inbox with your real name and description of profile piccy.
Its a very funny group and all manner of things are discussed.

jazzyjenbo · 13/04/2015 10:05

Just re read all the recent posts to try and answer some of the questions...,
There are over 80 of us june ladies now and yes most action happens on fb but alot still bob in to say hi on here.
Jam's grandaughter was the first baby to arrive from our group but no other of the 'mummy posters' have had there babies as yet, afew scares but everyone has legs crossed atm Wink
Our first official birth is expected at the beginning of May with one of our twin ladies.
We have posters on here expecting from around 25th May i think (my edd is 31st may) ... Found this thread to be more relevant as on the may bus i was miles behind.
There are alot who have had previous mc/mmc.... (Myself included)... It is beginning to feel real now! I have everything sorted but this is my 3rd so had most things.
There are some who havnt got nething yet and 2/3 who are moving house before june so have lots to sort out.
We'll b needing a new thread soon

comeagainforbigfudge · 13/04/2015 10:15

zahaziland I know!! I keep wondering what I'll do with myself. Then I open the door to our back room that is stuffed full of baby stuff that needs cleaned and sorted!! (Lot of 2nd hand stuff)

Where to start!!!!

Even though I'm now off and more aware of baby moving (worked long shifts so baby lulled to sleep most of the day) it still doesn't feel real!

zahaziland · 13/04/2015 10:45

hi jazzy, glad to hear that your scare was only temporary and that baby is still nice and cosy inside!

comeagain, I also feel that I am more aware of movements since the past few days. Until now I would mainly feel baby in the morning, evenings and night, but little (or nothing) during the day. Probably because I keep busy at work. But now I do feel strong kicks and movements all throughout the day. I love being reassured, but baby movements can be quite uncomfortable at times.

I also have the prospect of cleaning second-hand things. I have a stroller/travel system. I don't think the covers can go in the machine, but I will hand wash everything I can.
I am grateful that we have been offered several second-hand items, but I do want to buy some special things for baby. I want to get a cute outfit for when baby leaves hospital and comes home.

jazzy I think I will stick around this thread - I'm not much of a FB person, so I hope that there will still be some activity...

Chookford · 13/04/2015 13:05

Afternnon ladies..

Hope everyone is well, I'm 34+1 today and starting to notice I'm slowing down, although packing a house ready to move next week does not help things...

I'm due 24th May but baby may be making an earlier appearance as its breech so my next scan at end of month will tell us if a c section will be needed! I've got lots of second hand stuff for baby too, as it saves an absolute fortune!
