Yeah the thought of a section is a little unnerving bazza but I know that if that's the best thing for baby then it's fine... I'm still hoping baby will have turned by next scan but I doubt it will now!

cuphat · 16/04/2015 12:17

I cried when I found out that DD was breech and that I'd need a section but it was honestly a very positive experience and I've happily opted for another one this time. I wrote about my experience on the May thread a few days ago.

zahaziland · 16/04/2015 12:30

Last time they checked baby was in the right position, but does anyone know at what point babies will stay in a certain position?
Could babies still turn at 31-32 weeks into breech position?

Funnily enough, I haven't really been thinking about the actual birth. After 2 MCs I just didn't really think I would ever get to that stage....

Bazza, I hope your baby's growth is proceeding nicely

Bazza2 · 17/04/2015 08:16

Zaha thanks! Baby isn't growing well but he is still growing a little. I'm only 4' 10" so I wasn't expecting a giant anyway. He's otherwise healthy.

comeagainforbigfudge · 17/04/2015 08:45

Going for a scan today. It's to check placenta which was low lying but excited to see little one on screen again! And seeing as I can't tell where bum or head is, hopefully a nice wee position check (only 32weeks so I know can still move about! But all this breech talk is getting me worried. Spot the ftm)

Bazza, glad bubba is growing a little. Hope he keeps doing so Smile

Chookford · 17/04/2015 09:44

bazza hope little one continues to grow even if it is only a little!

come enjoy your scan... It's difficult to tell what's what when they get bigger though, but still lovely to see them on screen!

I've just had my 35 wk midwife appointment and baby is still def wrong way up, head is nestled against my ribs and bum was wriggling away at the bottom! Little monkey so I'm not hopeful it's going to turn by scan date as it's seriously running out of room now!

nikijm · 17/04/2015 10:55

Hiya,

I'm 30+3 and very lucky that I work mainly from home. I have a completely clear day from now until 6 when my DS is dropped home after a play date. I'm way overexcited about prospect of plonking on the sofa and not moving until then. I've been shattered for the past week! Kudos to those going on trips etc. My son was 2 weeks early. I'm hoping (maybe foolishly) for the same this time. I'm quite small so not convinced I can make it to 40W!! I currently look like a weeble :(

:)

comeagainforbigfudge · 17/04/2015 16:53

Scan went well.

Baby head down, placenta far enough back to not present a problem and sonographer snuck in a wee growth check. Baby on 50th percentile.

Which is good, I reckon I'm just huge with fluid (although carrying it all at the front)

Hope you all having a nice day Grin

Chookford · 17/04/2015 17:08

come congrats on the good scan news!!

sun I think it's unlikely your baby would be turning from breech to correct position without you knowing... It would be very uncomfortable! My midwife got the position wrong at my last appointment but having now had 3scans and one more to go....today she confirmed baby is most def breech head is against my ribs and bum down in my pelvis so they can be mistaken, but then again baby can turn I would have just thought you would most def feel it at this stage

sun I would certainly mention it if you are concerned... They rotate they are moving organs out of the way and it's not pleasant!!! You do feel it...

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 17/04/2015 22:54

Another one who'd say to mention it if you're worried... That would be a fairly major worry for me too! I don't really know which way mine's lying - a couple of weeks ago I was sure it was transverse as I felt massively stretched sideways and all "kicks" were reall far round on my right side. I got a lot of movement one day and suddenly could feel limbs in ribs... Fab... Except today I've had loads of really uncomfortable seismic shifts and movement is at both sides again. Arses!! I'll be interested to see what is said at my 36 week appt in a fortnight.

Nothing but trouble, these offshoots of ours!!

cuphat · 19/04/2015 09:28

Sunbathing, my midwife got it wrong with DD, telling me she was head down when she was breech all along. I'd only felt kicks low down. During my 38 week appt she told me she was head down, then just as I was leaving she asked if she could check again - she must have had a niggling doubt. She sent me for a scan to double check as she said baby could either be breech or have a bony bum. It turns out what she had thought was the bum was the (large!) head. I'm so glad she admitted her doubts at the last minute.

comeagainforbigfudge · 19/04/2015 09:38

Oh I had such a miserable sleep last night. Well evening and sleep.

Went for lunch yesterday and walked for maybe 30mins in total (slow meander there and back), out for maybe 3hours. Was so sore by time I got train home. Could have cried. Then had major twitchy legs. Woke up this morn with a drewth AND back is still blooming sore Sad

I'm just a whinge-bag already and it's not even gone 10am yet!!
So I'm having a proper cup of tea as my cure it all Grin (it won't but I totally deserve it)

zahaziland · 19/04/2015 18:31

Welcome niki

sunbathing I would also mention it. It seems quite an odd coincidence that your baby turned around twice (without you noticing) just after a scan...

I had a nice weekend here, went to the cinema yesterday afternoon and then a party last night... It was nice to get out and party, as I know it probably won't be happening again soon!! ;)

comeagain I hope your cup of tea cured everything Wink

Cup of tea worked, thanks zahaziland

Bought our cot bed today. It's HUGE looking. Baby will be lost in it!! But will do up til 4 years old apparently Grin

Theyvallgone · 20/04/2015 09:51

Hi everyone,
Hope its ok if I join in? Have finished work now so more time to come on here and post!
First baby, due 5th June, don't know the sex or anything :)

Feel like I'm constantly whining about something, SPD, baby being breech/high up so can't breathe, constantly head butting my ribs and on and on .. haha. Didn't bargain for a total lack of sleep and everything else that comes with it!

Hope you're all ok today. Fingers crossed nice weather continues so we can get a bit of a 'glow' before babies start coming along ;)

comeagainforbigfudge · 20/04/2015 10:09

Morning

Welcome Theyvallgone it's good to be finished isn't it? I bought some suncream the other day for that exact reason (don't want to burn!!)

In other news, My pram is ready for collection!! So excited, just a shame we have NO ROOM for it. Everything is higgyidly-piggidly with all the work stuff we trying to get done before baby arrives

BUT I'M SO EXCITED it's an armadillo flip XT in teal and it's such a pretty colour.

Must contain self slightly

zahaziland · 20/04/2015 16:10

Welcome Theyvallgone, I still have 6 weeks of work left, but I'm still quite happy to be kept busy. I only get 16 weeks maternity leave in total, so I prefer to work more before and then get more time with baby later.

The thread has been busy with talk of breech babies, but does anyone know much about babies facing front versus facing towards the back? I seem to gather that this can make labour and delivery more or less difficult, but I don't know much about it.
