Jackie - sorry to hear that. At least she knew you were pregnant, I know I was grateful of that fact when mine died. Thanks

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well. Sorry I haven't updated for ages, would the lovely person in charge of the thread update my details for me?

My 20 week scan is on the 6th Feb and we're not going to find out whether we're having a girl or a boy. Getting kicks that DH can feel now, which is reassuring as it feels SUCH a long time since the 12 week scan. I also bought a fetal dopplar to use at home which has been a comfort. I'm doing yoga, walking and swimming lots in a bid to keep weight gain under control...

ClearlyOpaque · 26/01/2015 14:20

Another scan update: mine was all fine this morning and (as I've been saying to my OH for weeks) we're having a BOY.

Only slight negative was that the sonographer found a fibroid near the baby's head, so I've got to back for a consultant appointment on Friday to discuss it. Everyone in the room this morning said it was nothing to worry about and having consulted Doctor Google, I feel much more informed - from what I can see, it might impede a natural delivery, but we won't know til much nearer the time. Do any of you ladies have any experience with fibroids?

Oh, and to the poster who asked about vitamin supplements, I was told off (very mildly) at my last MW appointment for not taking Vit D, which I now try to take every other day. I've convinced myself that Pregnacare was making me feel sick, so I packed it in.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 26/01/2015 14:28

Clearly - I didn't get on with pregbacare either so I bought some separate vit d tabs as I didn't want a telling off either. although I drink juice and milk a lot so I can't be that depleted.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 26/01/2015 14:29

Forgot the main reason - congratulations on your scan news (even if there is that minor issue).

cuphat · 26/01/2015 14:41

Sorry to hear that Jackie.

Congrats on the scans today Jenny and clearly (and anyone else I've missed)!

Chookford · 26/01/2015 14:52

jackie sorry to hear about your nan Flowers.

clearly congrats on your baby boy, I'm sure everything will be fine with the fibroid and you are being well looked.

ots · 26/01/2015 16:03

Thanks for the new thread. Been away as our internet went down. Its amazing how much you come to rely on it!

Hope everyone is ok. Off to catch up on the end of the old thread.

Newcy · 26/01/2015 16:59

Hey!! Just thought I would check in! Congratulations everyone on the lovely scans! Mine isn't until next Monday! Starting to get impatient!

I am 18w+5d and I think I might be feeling baby but I am not sure! I get like a rolling feeling then nothing for ages! Which makes me doubt myself! But then I think what else can it be?!

I am also having really sharp pains in my ribs! Sorry for popping up and moaning....

jazzyjenbo · 26/01/2015 18:20

Evening all, hope u hav all had a nice day and congrats to all those who have had scans today. Still afew ppl to update us i think but all the scan pics look lovely.
I posted this on FB earlier but i had a run in with an old busy body granny at dd's toddler group this morning. I was talking to sum1 else about both my dd's sharing a room (2yr old and this baby) and she commented about it being nice they are sharing (which i agree with) but then started waffling on about how ppl should only have 2 kids anyway as the world/country is going to be so over populated and that ppl who have more are being irresponsible etc etc.... At which point i turned to her and said 'well this is number 3 so i am adding to the over population then'!!WinkWink
Seriously after reading some of the other comments ppl on the fb group have written which has happened to them i do wonder why ppl insist on having an opinion on other ppls family's.
Neway moving on....
If anyone wants to join the FB group pm me your real name and tell me profile photo and i'll add you.
Lots of baby events starting this week.. Morrisons and aldi.

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 26/01/2015 19:21

clearly I have a fibroid, showed up on 7 week and 12 week scan, was told not to worry as they will keep an eye on it and check at 20 week scan to see if it's becoming an issue.

This may be tmi but I ve noticed today my nipples felt a bit sore, when I ve looked they are really dry and skin is cracking on them, is this just a normal thing of pregnancy ?

excitedbutsick · 26/01/2015 19:30

Hi all, I had to have an extra bit of scanning as the baby's heart was hard to see at first so needed to wait around for a cardiology consultant to become free, but it all looks good as far as can be seen. Baby is laying transverse which explains why I'm feeling a drumming sensation on both sides at the same time.

My key snapped in the lock this afternoon, so have had to wait around for a locksmith to arrive which felt like an age. The management company for the building seemed pretty slow on getting the problem sorted.

Sorry to hear about your nan jackie

Deutschybaby · 26/01/2015 20:07

Hey, sorry to hear about your nan jackie

Just popped in to say 20% Off m and s tonight online - have ordered some things, first bits I've bought actually so I'm excited! Got a few of their Peter rabbit things, I love them.

purplebiro · 26/01/2015 20:22

Hi all - not checked in for a while but all is well, save for a bad combination of round ligament pain and constant sneezing, some bad hip pain and a few nosebleeds. Baby's fine though - scan last Wednesday and all looking great although baby very coy so we don't know the gender. Weird to think that we won't know now until the baby is born, although my mum is pushing for a private scan (think she's feeling left out since she isn't close enough to come to the normal ones and our baby is VERY camera shy)...we'll see.

traceybaybee · 26/01/2015 20:37

Popping in to say hello. And to ask with regards to anterior placentas when roughly movement will be felt? Ive had fluttery niggles but cant say for definete its baby moving. Here wee one from my scan on friday

June 2015 - bumps ahoy!
Tryingreallyhard84 · 26/01/2015 21:14

I've had movement in the last couple of days. Little pops and wiggles. I don't know if I have an anterior placenta though so that's of no help. They seem to be mainly to the left (although I lie on my left so that could be why I feel it there). I'm 19 + 2. I hope it's the baby and not wind. I'm starting to notice a pattern though which adds to my theory it's baby. Smile

Busy day tomorrow so going to get some sleep. Good luck to any scanees tomorrow and can't wait to see mire pics.

Sorry about your nan, Jackie Hmm

The mum at school whose EDD is the same date as mine said after her scan that her baby is breech... I thought they still had loads of space to move at this point so you wouldn't really know now what the final lie would be. Am I massively wrong?!

Bought some new jeans in jojo today but am a bit worried that they fit fine now and when they've done that denim stretchy thing they'll be falling down!!

There is still loads of room for baby to move around, they can freely move about now. Mine was transverse and back to back at scan. Its in the last 6-7-8 weeks that they start to get a preference for position but even then can move. I had a friend last year who was booked for elcs after a scan at 38 weeks showed breech, at 39 on elcs date baby was headdown.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 26/01/2015 22:51

I'm sure dd was transverse at this point, as this one was last Weds, but she was in the right place by the time she needed to exit. You know when you just doubt yourself though??

newbie6 · 26/01/2015 23:10

Hi

I've got a low anterior placenta and am 22 weeks, def feeling movement but quite dull and more like flutters but sure I sometimes feel a proper kick! I had an anterior placenta last time but it wasn't categorised as 'low' but def felt movement from around 21/22 weeks. Hope that helps!
