That's what I struggled to find squatting. Went through loads of 'look inside' on amazon trying to find one suitable enough. Good luck in your hunt, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Smile

BananaToast · 02/02/2015 21:24

To my knowledge Mamas and Papas are closing most of their stores, but you'll be able to buy online and warranties won't be affected. I'm on their mailing list as we bought a pram there and they emailed recently when my local store was closing.

londonlivvy · 02/02/2015 21:33

squatting we have "there's a house inside my mummy" which is going down well. other friends recommend the topsy and Tim new baby book

I have a tummy bug, yet again. feeling like death. it's been semi constant stomach bugs all the way since xmas.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 21:40

I think my boy wouldn't care about a book... he's been through all this before and keeps asking me when his baby sister is being taken out of my tummy.

And the youngest isn't really verbal enough for books being read to sink in.

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 21:45

penguin I finally got myself in order last week and got booked onto the NHS classes, but I've arranged to go to just the first one, which is on labour and birth and skip the second one which is on bathing babies and changing nappies, on account of already having a baby but not having the first clue about non-induced labour, and was a bit worried about the whole going into labour outside of the hospital thing >.< there's still time but you better get a wiggle on, last time round the courses were so oversubscribed in my area that they were scheduled for the last 4 weeks of pregnancy (that's fiiiiiine she said, it's my first baby and I'll go overdue she said.....) and I ended up only making one before the baby came!

Hmm best keep an eye out, if my local store closes I might have to go and have a snoop!

www.mothering.com/articles/25-childrens-books-that-depict-breastfeeding/ here are some breastfeeding picture books, don't know any of these are general new baby suitable?

daholster · 02/02/2015 21:52

Erm, getting sorer now - actually bruised...!!! Did not expect that! Shock

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 23:30

oh no daholster how can waxing bruise?!

daholster · 03/02/2015 00:22

Purpley bruise spots where its all been ripped out!!! And a generalised purple swollen tinge in places Confused The therapist did say it might be because I am pregnant, increased blood flow - and she put lots of stuff on it straight away and said she wouldn't be picky about any stray bits and leave them for next time. I am surprised though! Still, hopefully it will be worth it, and I have until 4th March to look forward to the next one!

Night all... technically 30 weeks today!!! Smile

Ooo nearly full up, must be new thread time already!!
mamas and papas emailed today to say my order is on its way and also sent me a £10 gift card. The closures are probably just cost saving.

TheBooMonster · 03/02/2015 08:03

Ouches daholster hopefully it doesn't last too long!

DD dragged me downstairs at 6:20 this morning despite DH already being up so I've spent an hour and a half in a semiconscious state whilst trying to get over the shock, had quite forgotten how offensive I find early mornings, guess I best get used to it!!

It's snowed here overnight and it's now in an ice rink sprinkled with icing sugar kind of state outside, DH has told me I'm not to leave the house in case I fall >.>

Lauren82000 · 03/02/2015 08:34

That's nice Boo, my DH wants to go find some snow at some point with me and DD. I told him to sod off! I can't walk far as I get BH and if I fell well that's just not going to be good is it. Sometimes I really do think he's an idiot!

I had an odd night too Squatting. Baby is usually very quiet at night so even when I'm semi awake I don't tend to feel much, but last night I was aware of being poked quite rhythmically for most of the night. I even woke up with a bit of a hand print on my bump where I unconsciously had my hand resting for most of the night.

smogsville · 03/02/2015 10:36

Just realised my belly had gone a bit quiet too. Drank some (not especially cold) water and now got movement back.

I was never concerned first time around as I don't remember DD being so active - or perhaps I just couldn't feel as much due to residual stomach muscles that are no more?

Squatting - hope you've got some wriggles back?

minipie · 03/02/2015 11:26

Morning all! got a day off work today and had a proper, long lie in - woke at 10.30! can't remember the last time I did that. Lovely Smile

Books - we have the House inside My Mummy one but it's pregnancy focused really. We also have one called My New Baby which is much more about when the baby is here, through the toddler's eyes - eg pic of mummy feeding baby (BF) with toddler tRhinking "why does the baby always have milk?"

ouch daholster you're reminding me why I don't do this whole waxing thing! hope it settles soon. try arnica??

boo I missed all my antenatal classes last time! I have booked onto a "refresher" course which covers birth and baby basics and also has some tips on managing with 2 - it's only 2 hours so doubt there will be huge amounts of info but we'll see. Although I have a child I feel like I know nothing about the newborn baby stage since DD was in hospital etc and then was already on a feeding and sleeping routine when she came out (though it all went to pot later!)

I couldn't get my skinny jeans off last nightSad very nearly gave up and got DH to help but couldn't deal with him laughing at the pitiful state I got myself in, so kept quiet and persevered. I got there in the end but think I'll bite the bullet and ask for help next time. I also find socks a bit difficult now too.

Hidingthefear · 03/02/2015 12:23

Shoes with laces are an issue for me too squatting any helpful tips ;)
I've been sitting on the couch and hoisting my leg up onto the buffet lol. these shoes are too comfy to consider wearing anything else.
I've got a "Parent Craft" (antenatel) course tonight at our local sure start centre. not really sure what to expect but being armed with info is always good.
had my first hypnobirthing class last night and it was brill, I think they will be more use to me than antenatel but it will be nice to go to them too even if it's just to meet other mums and get breast feeding support when i need it.
Shall I do a new thread for us? only have 4 messages left on this one i think.

Hidingthefear · 03/02/2015 13:00

I hope this is how you create a fred, Not done one before, i usually leave it to the pro's
New thread

Siarie · 03/02/2015 13:15

I really need to read up, I actually hadn't postes in so long that this thread was removed from my "I'm on" list!

So had my whooping cough jab this morning, I also picked up a few items from John Lewis on my way home.
