LOL Lauren for your DH with the strategically placed mirror!

I've let mine go a bit wild. I used to keep it in check bc when DD was under 3 I had to come in the pool with her for swimming and didn't want to scare the other mums. Since she's started 'big' swimming ie 3+ she goes in without me so I've got a bit lazy. My poor waxing lady when I finally get around it to Blush

kismac · 02/02/2015 15:21

I've ordered reusable breast pads from Cheeky Wipes. I've started carrying my notes with me after DH told me off for not doing so. It makes sense as I've got over an hour commute so would be far easier to go to local hospital than head home and pick them up.

Just cut my finger opening tub of carrots. The universe is telling me to ditch them and have another biscuit.

kismac · 02/02/2015 15:26

Fi, Im measuring a bit small and they keep umming and ahing about booking me in for another scan which would probably be at 32-36 weeks. But they don't tend to be too bothered unless you are measuring 3cm + or -.

FiRaffe · 02/02/2015 15:57

I've got an extra scan at 34 weeks because i've got a bmi of 35, so I guess that the midwife is happy they'll pick anything up then. I wouldn't have been too worried, but was just her comment to the student - thanks for putting my mind at ease.

Lauren82000 · 02/02/2015 16:15

I've not been carrying my notes either. Keep thinking should really stick them in the car. But they might get lost in all of DDs junk that has accumulated. At least I know where they are (on the side in the kitchen) and if I needed to go to hospital well home is on the way. Once I get past 30 weeks I'll probably start carrying them. Another week to go Wink

I survived! Now having a well earned hot chocolate in Costa Grin Full leg, Hollywood, under arms and eyebrows all done!!! They put all this tea tree oil and aloe stuff on and it feels fine. It will be the next few days as I exfoliate and slap on the "try to stop getting bumpy and infected" cream on that I am worried about getting sore. I shall be minimising knicker wearing... And back in 4 weeks... She said it can only get better!!! I heard it gets a lot less painful after the second one. So, 34 weeks and 38 weeks... Then hopefully I can make it 6 weeks because I imagine too close to after birth it would be YEEOUCH!!!

I saw myself in the mirror getting changed and I think its hilarious!!! Grin

daholster · 02/02/2015 16:34

PS I live in Hampshire, and it was -6? this morning. MINUS SIX!!!! It hit 0? at lunchtime!!! Shock

Lauren82000 · 02/02/2015 16:37

Daholster are you sure it was wise to have it all whipped off if it's that cold where you are. You need the excess fuzz to keep your bits warm.

yay! glad you survived daholster!

Squatting sounds like you've got your bases covered with the different sizes! do you feel better for having started packing?

AnniaFausta · 02/02/2015 17:38

Yup, Boo, box five or 'prepare'! Quite sad I missed box 4, but never mind. I had a look at Sassy Bloom but thought it looked a bit too 'gifty' for me, but I'm planning to try out Nonabox once the small person arrives - I can only justify one pre-birth box (and even then, when I say justify...) Thanks for the breast pad rec too.

I was mentioning these boxes to my mum, and saying that I'd seen various ones for small people of various types, expecting either disapproval or a 'good heavens, how things have moved on from my day', only for her to turn around and say 'oh yes, you used to have one of those for arts and crafts stuff, a folder came in the post every month, they were quite good'! So there you are.

daholster congratulations on surviving :)

daholster · 02/02/2015 18:02

Lauren and squatting you both made me laugh out loud!!!

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 18:38

annia is this what was in yours? (green tissue) If it helps my box 4 (blue tissue) didn't have the yoga dvd (i was gutted, lol) but it did have a gift card to use on the natal hypnotherapy website which was pretty cool, and there was a bottle of alcohol free wine!

Get you ladies all organised. I still haven't pulled the changing bag from the loft yet. It all still feels ages off yet but watch me get caught short and I'll go early this time instead of overdue! Wink I'll get round to it eventually

AnniaFausta · 02/02/2015 19:27

Boo, that looks exactly like mine! (Which isn't surprising given they don't really differentiate you out much pre-birth.) I have to say I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the FemFresh wipes as I disapprove of That Sort Of Thing in general, but they might as well go into the hospital bag as they might come in handy...

PenguinPoser · 02/02/2015 19:37

I'm planning to sort my hospital bags when I finish work - 3 weeks on Thursday!! Hopefully will last that long, struggled today with my hip and pelvic pain which seems to have become permanent since Saturday Sad seeing midwife on Wednesday so will ask her if she thinks it's worth me seeing the physio or whatever.

Daholster I don't envy you going through that pain today but do envy the results... I can't see down there anymore which is making things tricky!
Those boxes look good Boo and Annia - where are they from? I like getting presents in the post! (Even if I had to pay for them...!)

BananaToast · 02/02/2015 19:42

Wow Penguin that's not long left at work at all! I've still got 8 weeks left - counting down the days!

We start NCT classes tomorrow. Feels like first day of school, hope the other couples are nice!

www.project-b.com penguin it's these guys. they send you one each month, so if you signed up now I think you'd be too late for this months but you'd get March and Aprils.

annia I was curious because the picture of the box was different previously, and only half the items in the box were on the 'in this box' sheet, so I was wondering if there were core things the same and then some that were a random selection. Yea, I've now got the wipes and the wash courtesy of project b and I can't think they're things I'd use, suspect that post birth it'd sting? That juice is really something though, phwoar! Might get some just in case i have future movement issues, a 3rd of the bottle has got bump breakdancing!! The tablets have gone straight in the hospital bag. Not sure what the obsession is with tea? they've sent me two lots of tea now...

I liked the look of sassy bloom because they personalise stuff sometimes, though Nonabox has some petty cool looking labour stuff in the review videos / box examples I've seen...

Lauren82000 · 02/02/2015 20:10

Squatting I got a book for DD but she's going to be almost 4. I did look at the princess potty book but I wanted something to go in her bag of big sister swag for when the baby is born and it kind of went into the whole before baby comes thing, which we have been explaining to her gradually and seems a bit silly after the fact.

I guess it depends what you want the book to explain. The book I got is How to be a baby by me the big sister. It focuses more on her and how she can do all these really cool things because she's a big girl. Which was the approach I was going with to try and get her to see growing up and being a big girl is great. Trying to avoid regression, not sure if it'll work or not but worth a try.

Wineandchoccy · 02/02/2015 20:17

banana I start antenatal classes tomorrow night and I feel nervous as well.
It's going to be a long day on Tuesdays for the next 5 weeks as full day at work and then 2 hours of antenatal class, I'm normally in my pj's as soon as I get in from work.

If anyone is near manchester the mamas and Papas shop in the Arndale is closing down on the 15th feb and there is 50% off.

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 20:47

are mamas and papas in trouble? I've heard tell of a number of stores closing down...

FiRaffe · 02/02/2015 20:57

I haven't seen anything Boo, but might be worth keeping an eye - especially people waiting for furniture!

Hope you antenatal classes are good Wine - i found ours really helpful yesterday. Looking forward to breastfeeding class on Fri then the second half of the course next Sunday.

PenguinPoser · 02/02/2015 21:10

Thanks Boo the boxes look lovely wish I had started them a few months ago - I think I remember you mentioning them a while back.

Ah I know squatting I would be the first to tell anyone else that there's not much that can be done - I'm just a grumpy patient and have a low pain threshold!

Ooh hope mamas and papas aren't in trouble! That's the second shop I've heard of closing too. And that's the store where we ordered our pram.. Hope it doesn't affect that it anyone else who has things ordered.
