minipie yes I'm at St George's - great news about partner being allowed to stay. I think it might be a good idea for him to go home and get a few hours' proper sleep if I do end up having to be in overnight, but I'm not sure how I'll feel when the time comes. Nice to have the option Smile

BrixtonBunny · 02/02/2015 11:25

Mini we complete on Friday! So very soon!

Banana we ended up getting the cabriofix for £135 in JL as well as also had some vouchers to use up - quite annoying but at least we could pick our delivery date and time to suit us.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 11:33

I'm a bit of a hippy and don't remove body hair! so the staff will just have to deal with it (obviously I obey instructinons from them and get it removed from the incision's likely site)
it's natural and clean so not an issue... I don't care if they dislike my hairy legs or not!

still haven't packed a hospital bag... really should crack on with that.
sleep bra! I need to find it. Had to make my own as no-where sold them big enough.

everything's making me panic lately and think I'm going into labour early (it means immediate ambulance and caesarian on arrival at hospital for me - it could kill me), the vast amounts of discharge being one of the things that have started the "oh hell... no, wait!" reaction.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 11:38

"instructinons"! is that like instructions you REALLY don't see the point in? LOL!
(obviously I do know why they need hairless near the incision)

AnniaFausta · 02/02/2015 12:02

daholster I hope it makes you feel more in charge of everything! Exfoliating should do the job, plus hair grows more slowly during pregnancy (at least, that's what I've read and what the evidence of my waxed legs seems to bear out), so you'll probably be alright even if you decide not to keep up with it.

Ewby, packing a hospital bag is on our list of things to do in the next few weeks - I have Lists. Whenever I raise something we need to do, DH always asks 'do we have a list?' His faith in lists is really quite adorable. As is his faith that if there is a list, I will have found one. (How well he knows me etc.)

Ooh do keep us updated daholster...I've always shaved everything but am finding it increasingly difficult to reach nowadays!

smogsville · 02/02/2015 12:23

Bugger. Just eaten three mini hummingbird cupcakes and now I want more chocolate and it's not even 1pm. I usually try to hang on until the afternoon... Doesn't bode well.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 12:36

I used to do lists. These days I barely do "organised enough to get by"

I should be ashamed! for my eldest I had lists by the time I was 20 weeks, was all sorted by the time I was 30.... third time through and it's "meh, I'll think about it tomorrow"

Neville it's just because of my brain haemorrhage a decade ago. They've checked my brain and there are no more weak points in the left hemisphere, but they didn't bother checking the rest of me (I've also had it in my boob about 15 years ago, and my foot when I was about 14, all on the left)

So the internal pressures of labour and giving birth are something I'm not allowed to go through. I was told that most women in my situation would be advised to abort - I told them to shut it!

BrixtonBunny · 02/02/2015 12:56

Smogs I just had a relatively healthy lunch of seeded pittas with avocado and red peppers, and then used this to justify my eating a scone slathered in clotted cream and raspberry jam (and washed down with a few spoonfuls of leftover custard...) So much for eating healthily today! It started so well with almond milk porridge and fruit. Oh well. Hmm

(Worst thing is of course now I just want another one).

Hidingthefear · 02/02/2015 12:56

annia i got re-usable breast pads from Ebay. I have also got a box of disposable ones from tesco.
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=reusable+breast+pads&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=1

I haven't been taking my notes with me and had to go home for them before my midwife appointment. Decided I'd leave them in the car so that I always have them but then DH (being helpful) brought them in and said "thought i best bring these in coz you left them in the car" doh.

I keep forgetting to take my notes anywhere. Probably just as well, I'd probably leave them in tesco or somewhere!

daholster · 02/02/2015 13:03

Ebwy you have some sort of "vasculopathy" too then? HHT is one of those too but I'm glad my action plan is not as severe as yours!!! My last labour was fine, and before they had discovered I even had it! I had a vessel malformation found in my left lung incidentally when I was in hospital and had that embolized with coils which seems to have worked. My consultant thinks there is another one at least somewhere because of my resting heart rates but she isn't going to try and find it, it could be anywhere and the evidence shows it's not too safe to embolize them if they aren't in the lungs. Happily I have had no complications from mine so far crosses fingers except having a bit of a poor aerobic tolerance no matter how hard I try to be fit!

Hope it goes well for you. I'm not sure I'd know when is the right time to call if I was you either!

daholster · 02/02/2015 13:18

In my pre torture bath. Brew to calm my nerves!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 13:21

daholster it sounds like it, but they never used that word to me!

"aneurysms" is all I got out of them.

I'm hoping they let me book my caesarian soon, then at least I'll know when I can stop panicking!

daholster · 02/02/2015 13:50

Mine is a bit different... Bundles. Of malformed vessels at risk of popping or clotting up and sending bits of clot to my brain or heart or wherever Confused but most people with it don't have problems. Unlike aneurysms which have more propensity to pop with high pressure I would think Shock "Vasculopathy" just means something wrong with your blood vessel system... So I guess that applies to us both!

Better drag myself out of the bath. Just read the thread on the pregnancy board about "fanjo" maintenance and now I'm terrified I'm doing the wrong thing, and that hair is there for a reason, I'm going to get a rash and that I am leaving myself open to infection!!! Still, its not too close to delivery yet... I can let it regrow a bit if I decide that is then I guess...

Gulp I am so scared and so embarrassed... Hoping she's seen bigger rugs with longer shagpile before... I'm not sure she will have!!! BlushBlushBlush

Hidingthefear · 02/02/2015 13:50

just thought i'd share if anyone's looking for freebies, Emma's Diary is worth signing up to, especially if you still have purchases to make.
emma's Diary

I picked up my first pack from boots and got some Johnsons stuff in it, baby wipes, oil, baby shampoo/wash, always voucher.

They didn't have the next pack but said they would this weekend. Can also collect the packs from ARGOS.
They also have vouchers you can print for argos too. I'd already bought everything for baby so the vouchers were too late for me.

smogsville · 02/02/2015 13:59

Brixton I followed up the cupcakes with a tesco paella ready meal. It's just so bloody cold I felt I needed something enormous and filling of course now I am sitting at my desk about to fall asleep after all that rice and feeling remorseful as I never eat dirty ready meals. Poor baby all that salt oh well!

There are still loads of cupcakes downstairs too as office quite empty today.

Realise I defo eat better on my at home days - when at work it's too easy to trundle off on the lunch run with colleagues and buy rubbish.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 02/02/2015 13:59

daholster it sounds like it, yep.

Don't worry about your hair length etc - mine hasn't been "dealt with" for over a decade! it's normal. One of my non-"deforesting" friends went and had hers done after 2 decades (surprise for her husband, he didn't like it though!)! since no-one there even blinked at hers, I'm sure yours won't even be noticed

FiRaffe · 02/02/2015 14:48

Good luck with the waxing daholster - don't worry if you end up doing John Wayne impression. That's what I was like first time I was waxed down there!

Been to the midwife this morning and measuring 2cm small - she seemed okay about it but said to the student that we would need to monitor it. Anyone else measuring small or got any ideas why/what can happen etc?

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 14:59

Annia I take it it's the month 5 box you got through too? I'm curious to see if the contents of everyone box is the same! I'll post a pic of the contents of mine in a bit because I took some pictures for my blog but am too lazy to get up and find where DD has put my phone. I've also signed up for Sassy Bloom (I am a subscription addict!) once I've had that through and made a post about it I am going to send the worlds cheekiest email to Nonabox and see if they'll send me a free box to review... worst they can say is no!

I did get some reusable breast pads yes from here they're much bigger than the reusable ones I go from Boots (or was it mother care?) last time and lovely and soft! I got some with patterns on (now she has Gorjuss fabric and I want it but probably shouldn't buy more until I know I can successfully breastfeed) but she also does plain I think, figured the patterns would make them easy to spot in the wash.

I had a full on forest last time (by accident rather than design) my biggest issue was post birth and I won't go into any more than that but eew. The midwives didn't give a fig about the hair during labour despite how embarrassed I felt.

Smog I take mine everywhere like a crazy woman. but I also have the numbers and important details saved in my phone, I can access them easily and if I end up unconscious people can access the details from the lock screen.

mini get that bag packed, or bring it to meeeeeeee and I'll do it for you, I have a sudden joy for packing hospital bags...

TheBooMonster · 02/02/2015 15:02

crossposted fir it's unusual that they've not booked you in for a growth scan, but if you continue to measure small they probably will. A scan is more accurate, if you're lower than the lines on your graph they'll likely schedule you for another growth scan at a later date. I had one at 32 and 36 weeks with DD and then they trapped me in the hospital and induced me (surprise!!) but DD had not grown at all between the two scans, generally you'll be fine, and they'll just want to keep an eye on things.

Lauren82000 · 02/02/2015 15:04

Mine is au natural in shape and size I just trim it every now and again (roughly once a month) to keep it neat. I tend to chafe a bit if I let it get too long Blush

I love my razor/trimmer thing I can use it in the shower and if I bend over a bit and suck my belly in I can see just enough to get the job done.
Once bumps too big for that it'll be done lying in the bath with a strategically placed mirror, held by DH. I'd ask him to do it but he'd do a crap job and I'd end up tufty with straggly bitsConfused much worse than all over bush monster I think.
