Just Shagging - Thread 11 for Graduated Viroids!

JuniDD · 17/08/2014 06:27

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Me DP and DD are going to Alton towers next week. DP has just reminded me pregnant people can't go on rides. Can I reaaaaallly not go on anything?! I'll be about 5 weeks by then. I obviously won't if it'll risk the baby but I always assumed the signs meant outwardly pregnant people!

cookielove · 20/08/2014 07:52

Well it's na personal choice that early on, if you were showing they wouldn't let you on. However its your risk to take!

zenry · 20/08/2014 08:04

Hello hello. Life has been so hetic recently but things are definitely more settled so I have more free time for MN again ha.
Hope you are all well

laurenamium · 20/08/2014 08:07

So it is a risk then? If its a risk I won't do it. Ill spend my day in cbeebies land with DD Grin i probably would have anyway but it's good to know!

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 09:55

lauren I think you're not meant to! but you can feel smug you've got the best reason ever not to :)

laurenamium · 20/08/2014 11:56

Grin Zyla. A day of smugness it is then! and postman pat

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 12:27

But only if you promise to get the song stuck in your head for at least 3 days!

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 12:31

12 week scan is one week today! We'll see which dates are right hopefully, the scan I had just over a week ago put me 4 days ahead, but i agreed with the initial dates cos I knew when I ovulated due to naughty contraband!

I'm getting excited about it, but need a big talk with the diabetes people, my sugar levels are good, but keep dropping so I'm having 4 hypos a day or so. I'm catching and treating them, But they leave me knackered and hung over feeling. The thing is, high sugars are bad for the baby, low ones are only bad for me as long as I don't have a seizure and go unconscious lol, so I'd rather keep it lower, but it's causing issues at work, I'm currently off and gp has said she'll sign me off next week too, meh... I'll see what they say.

wilmabedrock · 20/08/2014 13:45

It's to do with placental abruption I think lauren. You'd probably be fine on log flume type things. 2 more BFPs on the JSing thread. Must be a lucky time of year.

Oh zyla what a pain. Are your work ok about it?

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 13:56

My boss is a cow in general wil but there's nothing she can do cos docs have told me to stay off and it's pg and disability related. Just want to feel less hung over though hehe, it's rubbish feeling like this when you've not been drinking!

FurryScoob · 20/08/2014 14:14

Hope they get your levels sorted zyla early pregnancys crap enough without an alcohol free hangover to add to it.

I need to ask a TMI question to all you lovely lady's that have done all this before. Roughly how many maternity pads do you need & are some better than others? All I'm getting told by friends is its like a heavy period after birth but other threads on here have got people who have doubled up on pads every hour. I don't want to buy too many but also don't really wanna send DP out for some, wouldn't bother him but god knows what he'd come back with!

cookielove · 20/08/2014 14:26

furry, the hospital supplied me with these uber thick ones while I was there and I have moved onto the ones that are like sanitary pads about 36hrs after the birth. They are mostly fine, could do with being a bit longer! I'm going through 3-5 a day and I am on day 7.

So tired!

laurenamium · 20/08/2014 14:37

Furry when I had DD the hospital gave me some really thick ones. But I did bleed a lot! I was doubling up on maternity pads and changing them really frequently for a good week or so

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 14:39

I also have a tmi question, sorry!

What anti diarrhoea things are we allowed to take?

JuniDD · 20/08/2014 14:52

furry, I've just got some Boots ones, (am intending to sample a variety) and the packet says put two packs in your hospital bag then enough at home for four weeks. That is going to be a lot of pads! TBH, they don't seem any different to the jumbo Always I use for my periods (they are non-scented etc and my periods are mega-heavy) and the Always are longer! cookie if you can get someone out to a cheap pharmacy the purple non-Ultra Always or Always nighttime are mega long.

Sorry about your levels & work zyla, just keep putting yourself first, don't worry about work.

How's things going cookie? Is Elijah still in hospital? Hope you're doing ok with it all.xx

zenry · 20/08/2014 14:55

However many pads you think you need times it by 100. That will see you through.
DS1 was a light three weeks
DS2 was a long 7 week of various flow

cookielove · 20/08/2014 14:57

Ahhh thanks juni but I am allergic to always!

Yup Elijah is still in hospital, but we will be out on Monday! He is doing well! He has pulled his feeding tube out twice

I want him.to breastfeed and he likes the bottle, hoping in the next couple of days he starts sucking more!

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 15:01

Good to hear about Monday cookie they must be pleased with him :) :)

JuniDD · 20/08/2014 15:02

Ah, shame cookie. I will say the jumbo ones are very plain but do have that top sheet thing. No bloody acti-pearls or anything.

Roll on Monday then, hurrah! Ah, he sounds like he knows what he wants already, good boy. Are you getting to have lots of cuddles etc or does he have to stay in his cot a lot?

Hey zenry! I'm imagining my bedroom being lined with packets of these pads. Why do they only sell them in such small quantities...we need 100 packs not 10!

zenry · 20/08/2014 15:32

cookie im not sure if you were on the JS thread when I had henry but he was fed via tube for a while and we were trying to establish bf at the same time so you have my total sympathies and thoughts.

juni mothercare do packs of 40 but they are rubbish. I recommend asda or tesco

Minion · 20/08/2014 16:54

Hola!
I'm sorta burying my head in the sands about nappies etc, I know we have to start stockpiling but I just can't seem to get my shit together.
That and childcare. We've realised we can't afford me to have the full year off, so 9 months Is our go to, so we have to start looking for childminders etc, but I just can't bring myself to start seriously.
Nursery is beginning this week. All the other owners shit has been unscrewed, knocked down and thrown out. The room looks massive, but it's now coming across how big a job this may be for a man who refers to pay people to do the diy for us.
Uh oh.

Had that awful round ligament pain when sneezing today... Ouchy wow wa indeed.

Got very excited earlier. Tesco have just stated to stock their winter candles.. It's coming!
Winter is coming! Sorry for the GoT motto but I'm just so excited. Anyone else love winter?

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 17:09

Ok, so we've had a call from the nifty clinic, results are in, apparently baby is low risk for everything (waiting for DH to get back so I can read the email and see the actual numbers but they said low risk yay) and...... At 11 and a bit weeks I can tell you baby is a girl :)

So after our discussions of boys names it seems we only needed the firm favourite of Hannah for a girl, unless I change my mind but it's unlikely. I've cheered right up :)

TabbyTurmoil · 20/08/2014 17:19

Hello viroids :)

Have just spent a week and a half down the garden eating worms after a visit to EPU where it was suggested that I had iced on both sides and might have one pregnancy in the uterus and another ectopic. Went bonkers and convinced myself that the pregnancy in the uterus would be a blighted ovum. So was very excited to see our little chickpea on the ultrasound screen today measuring 9mm and with a lovely heartbeat. Still very early days but at least everything looks good for now.

ZylaB · 20/08/2014 17:21

Glad it's ok tabby now breathe and relax! :)

TabbyTurmoil · 20/08/2014 17:33

Thanks zyla, a little girl! Hannah is lovely (v jealous, DH refuses all names of all his past and present colleagues including Hannah and almost everything else)

min I love winter! Not sure how I feel about a pregnant Christmas on the other hand...
