Just Shagging - Thread 11 for Graduated Viroids!

JuniDD · 17/08/2014 06:27

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Oh the school lol. I'm a teacher and have no interest in staring at kids hehe :)

RPopz · 15/09/2014 18:13

Hahaha Zyla - I had a dog training book when we first got our pup that advised hanging round school gates at home time with puppy and treats... in order to get him used to children... Hmm Needless to say we never tried it!!

Feeling epically pregnant after work today. Mega bump ache Sad On the plus side, annual leave all organised so I will be going on maternity leave on 8th December! Grin

Red - My DH is same, he's interested when I read snippets out to him but struggles with whole books that aren't about aliens/ rock stars... Hmm

Hi Cookie xx

wilmabedrock · 15/09/2014 19:02

Bit early to be thinking about schools zyla...Grin

Can't see your letters but looked at the website and the ones on there are lovely.

Got midwife to take my bloods so will know by end of the week if they're ok or if I'm a great big hypochondriac.

Nessalina · 15/09/2014 19:10

Nice that you're being encouraged to ask for pressies Red! Grin Americans are so much less socially awkward than us Brits when it comes to this sort of stuff!! I worried for ages about feeling the baby moving, I think it was about 20 weeks before I was really sure of feeling it, so don't worry just yet Smile

My DH likes the app for baby, he's much better at reading it than I am! It's the DK Pregnancy Day by Day - apparently it has all the same stuff as the book, but in app form! Daily updates which is cool - I used to find weekly just wasn't enough Grin

Ooh yay for mat leave Popz! How long is that before your due date?

Love the felt letters!

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 19:11

Fx for results wil

wilmabedrock · 15/09/2014 19:22

Thanks zyla. Totally missed you had your mat leave date popz. How fab. Will be lovely to have some time before Christmas.

Nessalina · 15/09/2014 19:24

Oh yes, hope bloods are ok Wil!
Did I say they found I was anaemic? I've got iron tablets to take and they're giving me the runs something awful! Confused

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 19:39

ness poor you! maybe go ask if there's any alternative types that might not have that effect on you?

RPopz · 15/09/2014 19:47

It's just less than a month before my due date Ness. I've got 17 holiday days left to use up so my maternity leave won't officially start until 2nd Jan Grin

Fingers crossed for happy results Wil.

That sounds rubbish Ness! I thought they were meant to have the opposite effect?? Hmm Hope it settles down soon. Are you feeling any less tired at least?

Just had a bath to try and shift the bump ache but nothing doing Sad I feel so ill! Hoping it's just a shock to the system being back at work and this isn't a permanent effect! Confused

wilmabedrock · 15/09/2014 19:56

Oh no Popz, that's rubbish, hope you feel better soon.

Yeah I also thought iron tablets were supposed to make you constipated. That's not good Ness.

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 21:31

Has anyone been drinking any alcohol? I haven't had any at all so far but randomly fancy a glass of wine. I won't have one cos we don't have any cold, but it's the first time I've fancied any.... Am 15+3, would it be an issue?

Mind you, I probably won't want it tomorrow, I'm still very random with what I want :)

RPopz · 15/09/2014 21:54

I've had maybe 5 or 6 glasses of wine so far. (Not all in one day/ week!!) I've not read the Emily Oster pg book but she apparently okays it. I think as long as its not constant or excessive - but just having a glass of wine over a couple of hours with some food - the effect on the bean is minimal. x

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 22:03

Thanks rpopz. It's our wedding anniversary at the end of the month so we'll go out, I'll probably leave it until then and have one glass if I still feel like it! :)

Pisghetti · 15/09/2014 22:11

I was talking to a guy in work about alcohol this week. He suggested the zero advice was a way of simplifying the message. If you can have one why not two? If two, finishing the bottle won't hurt just this once will it? Once or twice a week becomes three or four times because it's only a little more than they recommend which can't be too bad right?

When I had DS 1-2 units once or twice a week was 'safe'. I largely chose not to drink except for a small glass of champagne at New Year and for my 21st (sob!). I didn't fancy it most of the time but I also didn't bother for the same reason I don't drink at all if I'm driving - I'd rather not get a taste for it, I'm happier having none. I'd feel like I'm missing out by having one but not by having none. I'm probably weird Smile

Anyway all that waffle comes down to... 1-2 units (I.e. A small glass) probably won't do any harm now and again. DP's mum drank a bottle of stout a night on her doctors' advice and look how he.. turned out.. voice tails off as a realisation hits

RPopz · 15/09/2014 22:24

Its surprising how you just get used to not having it and stop wanting it. I was adamant I'd have a glass of wine every couple of days or so on holiday but only ended up having one!

Nessalina · 15/09/2014 22:25

I've been off the booze myself, though I allow myself sips of other peoples drinks Wink I've been so so missing booze!

Yes, I thought the iron would make me constipated! I wasn't sure if I was taking them right though - the bottle from the pharmacy had a label on saying 'Take one 3 times a day - read the instructions on the leaflet that comes with this product', but helpfully had no leaflet Hmm When I rang the pharmacy they said they come out of a massive tub, so they have one leaflet that comes with the massive tub, but not individual ones! I was like, but I don't know if I'm taking them right or if my side effects are normal?! So they let me have the one leaflet! How silly is that?
Turns out they can cause both diarrhoea or constipation, but they're best taken one hour after food to avoid stomach irritation. So now I know! I left them at work actually, so missed two doses - oops Shock

What's achey about your bump Popz? Muscles or stretch marks? Or just a very kicky baby?! It sucks when it hurts. I think they go through growth spurts every now and again and it takes your tummy a while to get used to the new size! Confused

Starting to genuinely worried about my stretch marks. They're just one big red mass under the bump, and very tender Sad I keep being tempted to post a picture for sympathy Grin It'd make you all feel better about yours I'm sure!!

Nessalina · 15/09/2014 22:27

Ah bollocks, we're right at the end of the thread and I said I'd start a new one, but I can't get on the PC til tomorrow evening now! Confused Phone app won't let me copy and paste! If it gets full before I get chance can I pass on the honour??
Sorreeeeee

wilmabedrock · 15/09/2014 22:49

What about mobile site Ness? (not that I'm desperate). I was ok with stretch marks last time until about 7 1/2 or 8 months and they all disappeared afterwards. I do have varicose veins though so swings and roundabouts.

RPopz · 15/09/2014 22:54

Muscley aches Ness. I've had achey bump days before so hopefully it is just a growth spurt which has unfortunately coincided with being at work! No stretch marks just yet Shock Do they really hurt? Sad x

ZylaB · 15/09/2014 23:17

Thanks for the alcohol comments guys. pis you make a good point! I'll actually probably drive on our anniversary so DH can have a drink me I never have any if I'm driving either, so I won't have one then. I haven't fancied it much at all, just randomly tonight :)

Redshoes56 · 16/09/2014 01:42

Do they sell Burt's Bees products in the UK? I just bought the Mama Bee belly butter, which is supposed to be great for soothing tummies and perhaps preventing/improving stretch marks (I am using it on my poor, dry as anything boobs).

I'm experimenting with non alcoholic beers. Best so far is Clausthaler Amber. NA red wine was a total disaster, no more of that, thank you. I'll have a sip of the real stuff if needed!

Redshoes56 · 16/09/2014 05:08

Pregnant lady late night shopping spree. Just ordered a massive Snoogle pillow from Amazon and an obscene amount of expensive designer chocolates. Someone take my credit card away! By Thursday, I will be full of candy and taking up the entire bed with my new pillow.

Pisghetti · 16/09/2014 07:16

That pillow looks ah-maz-ing!

Off to London today, Germany tomorrow, I'll have a multicultural bump. Can't find my EHIC card (oops) I think work have insurance that covers me......

Minion · 16/09/2014 07:18

Hi all!
I've not much to input as life is just whirling by and with nothing extra fab happening so just thought I'd say 'Ello! I'll try and think of something interesting though...
Urrrrrrrrr

Leela5 · 16/09/2014 07:46

Morning viroids! How are you all? zyla they are lovely, hope you don't change your mind about the name Wink

I feel bit sicky today but I think I'm hungry...did just step in cat sick so might also be related.

Returned to work yesterday after hols to discover my job might be at risk. Boo!

Thank you for book recommendations I've ordered rough guide, pg day by day and the one for men. Mr La helped me to choose them.

I told mil about baby the other day. She did so well until 'don't get too excited until 12 weeks are up'. Cue very deflated me Hmm

When does the rage kick in? I could do with some of that. I'm a peaceful plateau of calm at the moment, gliding through life like a serene mermaid. No I've not lost the plot, I'm just frigging tired.

Is it normal to lose interest in sex? Poor mr la thought he was getting some last night but I merely fell asleep

red I love that you name your foetus! Ours is 'bean' or 'minila'

Mines size of a lentil today. That's an actual thing! Exciting

I had 2 very small glasses of prosecco on hols but I'm not going to drink if I can manage it rest of the time. My pg friends drink 1 small glass a week.

red I've seen burts bees recommended but never tried it. Let me know if it's any good! Is it kiehls everyone recommends for stretch marks?

PS hi cookie!
