Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Bramshott · 01/08/2006 09:40

Well this pink dot is very faint, but I'm hoping that I'm here too!!

I have a DD who's 3yrs 7m, who was born at 33 weeks. Also had a DVT last time, so have to trot off to the doctors and get set up with lovely daily injections - yum! Maybe this is why I'm in denial about this?!

Bramshott · 01/08/2006 09:41

Oh sorry, should have also said - due 8th April going by the Miriam Stoppard book.

twinkle183 · 01/08/2006 12:33

Congrats Bramshott

mammyjo · 01/08/2006 14:21

hollyhobbie · 02/08/2006 18:10

So how's everyone feeling?
TBH I can't really believe I'm pregnant. Last time, I couldn't think of a single other thing for the whole 9 months.
This time, I have DD (15months) keeping me busy, so I'm not so focused on the new baby (even if it's only 2mm big so far)
Last time I had bad morning sickness too and this time only a bit of nausea... is it just too early for it, or does my body know I have to look after DD so won't let me get sick, or is it because it's going to be a boy? (I heard that girls make you sicker than boys)

kittywits · 02/08/2006 22:12

Hi Holly, dunno about the sickness really. Each preg is so different. I think for alot of people sickness doesn't start to rear its ugly head until about 6.5 weeks. I guess the hormones have to build up to a certain level. Don't hold your breath just yet!

bobblehead · 02/08/2006 23:36

Hi Hollyhobbie my dd is 14months and I'm quite worried about looking after her if ms kicks in!
I never actually threw up with her but felt sooo sick constantly from weeks 6-12 so I'm just waiting for it to start! Only 5 weeks today and still feeling scared it won't last I've wanted this so much for ages I'll almost be relieved if I get some symptoms other than sheer exhuastion!

Btw my SIL had a boy and was sick as a dog from day 1, whereas I felt better by 12 weeks so doesn't always work out that way!

hollyhobbie · 03/08/2006 08:11

ok, i won't count my chickens yet...

mammyjo · 03/08/2006 11:22

I have got a boy and I was sick from before I could even do a pregnancy test right through to 22 weeks. Not just nausea either, this was head down the loo throwing up stuff at all times of the day and night. I am praying that I get it a bit easier this time!
That said I am very nauseated already but I guess its a good sign really, just doesnt feel very good!!
Bobblehead, I feel absolutely exhausted too. Only doing my regular daily stuff but could go to bed by 3 in the afternoon most days!

Hi guys sorry to put a downer on the whole thing but I feel great... only a slight bit of tiredness but I felt like this with my first one until about 6.5 wks then got a slight bit of nausea... Have to keep taking tests cos I don't believe that I am but they all say positive!!! Only slightly tired after work and I do take a nap while my son is... but its good to get a rest!!!

I hope that everyone feels better soon...

bubblez · 03/08/2006 18:10

Hello I think I am going to pluck up the courage to register on this thread.

I am due 9 April and have a 2.5 year old.

Sorry bobblehead my brain just isn't working today just confused you with booboo and then becky on my other thread..

So how is everyone feeling today?

bubblez · 03/08/2006 18:16

BTW has anyone else's boobs grow already? Mine have started to pop out of my bra already. [worried emotion]

hollyhobbie · 03/08/2006 18:35

No boob growth for me... still breastfeeding DD 3 times a day though. Next week I'm going to stop. Gulp! We've already added a story to our bedtime routine and from next week we're having a story and milk from a cup.
I'll be glad when DH can put her to bed (instead of it always being me), but can't help feeling a bit sad too. I guess there's only 8 months to go and I'll be doing it all again with baby number 2!

bubblez · 04/08/2006 09:09

Ahhh how old is you dd? I have a dd too she's 2.5.

Have you had any apointments through? With dd I knew what I was doing and when from the beginning, with this pregnancy I don't have a clue what is meant to happen and when. Only that the 12 week scan is at 12weeks?

twinkle183 · 04/08/2006 13:45

Hi how is everyone feeling today? I am feeling comfortabley full don't know why that is!! Your boobs aren't the only ones growing!! Mine has also and they are really tender??? Is anyone else having these problems?

No appointments through as yet! But down this end of the country they are rather laid back about the whole thing, where as I am a nervous wreck as had to have erpc done in March!! Just keeping my fingers crossed that this one will be fine!!!!

womblingalong · 04/08/2006 16:21

Hi, Congrats to all that are expecting, March or April. I have just had it confimred by the doctor today that I am expecting too, due date 7th April (snap twinkle!) Am very excited, although a bit nervous as I have had two M/C before, and one DD born Aug 2004.

No boob growth, but lots of tenderness, just a bit that I've not lost all the babay weight from the first time!!
