Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

dixia · 24/07/2006 17:09

Hi Mammyjo,

Due in March 07, not April, but just thought I'd pop in to wish you luck and say congrats

We now have 25 on our thread, so I don't think it will take long for new pgs to start flowing in!

hollyhobbie · 25/07/2006 06:08

Hi mammyjo,
ta da! you are not alone. I read your post yesterday but was waiting until this morning to do the PG test. Now I have my BFP (as of 20mins ago), I'm happy to sign up for the April 2007 thread.

I'm 34 and have a DD that was born in April 2005. Feel very calm at the moment... maybe the realisation hasn't sunk in yet?!

aprilmeadow · 26/07/2006 18:44

Congratulations ladies... Another from the April 05 thread. Lovely time of the year to have a baby, plus you get to have the summer off work!!! Was hoping to be joining you but af arrived today Best of luck x

DollyP · 26/07/2006 19:10

Hello ladies and congratulations on your BFPs. I have an April 2005 baby and it is such a good time to have a baby. Not too cold so no worries about too many clothes and overheating, not so warm you have to worry about heat when they are very tiny, whole summer off work, blossom, spring time, sap rising etc etc . Would love to join you but I am on the March 2007 thread instead.

Hope you all have a happy and healthy 9 months.

generaldogsbody1 · 26/07/2006 20:50

ho mammyjo, i may well be joining you in the april thread going by my own dates my edd sholud be 31st march. I'm not 100% sure though, going by my hcg levels i'm not as far along as i thought. I'm going for a scan on moday so i should have a better idea then, I hope it is april though as i think i'll qualify for 9 month mat leave!!! I have a cheek, I've been back at work for less than two months after my last lot

generaldogsbody1 · 26/07/2006 20:51

ho=hi lol

mum18772 · 26/07/2006 21:11

Congratulations - it's exciting to see that a new day brings new life! Hoping I will be joining the April 07 thread but another week or so to wait! Funny to hear someone else taking into account the 9 month mat leave entitlement benefit of an April baby! Hope that will apply to me too!

WestCountryLass · 26/07/2006 21:55

I just got a BFP on Monday

I have a DS who is 4 (5 in October) and a DD who is 2.

Was a shock to see the test turn positive as it was the first month TTC and DS took 15 months and DD took 7 months.

My DS was born at 34 weeks but DD was a textbook homebirth at 39 weeks so I am hoping to be repeating that!

wright4845 · 26/07/2006 21:56

hi general, i'm like you. not sure when my edd is. hoping for april but not bothered if late march, will have to keep leags shut and hope i go over!got bfp off doc on monday and have had v erratic cycles, last period was 20 may but had bfn off doc on july 5th so really don't know! will keep you posted. you had any signs yet? I haven't. just sore boobs like af is on way and aching back and pelvic area. no real sickness to speak of little tiny wves of sickness but that could be down to the heat more than anything else!

banburycross · 27/07/2006 19:56

have posted on March thread as I have a 31/3or 1/4 due date so who knows when really.

ladybump · 28/07/2006 07:16

congrats banbury! i'm inbetween two as well. get confirmation off midwife on 4th aug if i'm still here (fingers crossed1)I had 69 day cycle so have no idea when i ovulated!Had bfn three weeks ago though!

WestCountryLass · 28/07/2006 12:51

I think my EDD might now be the 31st. Whats a day between friends

Probablity would suggest I will have March baby as both DS and DD were early.

bobblehead · 28/07/2006 20:48

Hi everyone! I got my bfp last Friday, though I'd tested so early (af was due this Wed!) it wasn't b or f but very faint so I've held off posting before now. Anyway, af didn't show and I tested with a regular (i.e not supersensitive) test today and still bfp so here I am!
I'm guessing I'm due beginning April but the online calenders seem to base it on a 28 day cycle and my last one was 35 days. It gave me 27th March so do I just add 7 days to that?

WestCountryLass · 28/07/2006 21:41

I think the midwives just calculate it as 40 weeks from date of lmp regardless of cycle length, I think.

Congratulations btw

bobblehead · 29/07/2006 00:04

Thanks WCL, to you too

In that case my EDD would be 27th March but I shall stick on here as I expect to go over

ladybump · 29/07/2006 08:50

hi and welcome bobblehead. suppose you'll be feeling as nervous as me then?
I had bleeding yeaterday and really panicked but has stopped now.

hollyhobbie · 29/07/2006 09:03

Hi Ladybump, glad to hear your bleeding stopped

schneebly · 29/07/2006 09:04

Congrats to all of those on here and Hello - got BFP (very faint) yesterday but think I might have my dates a wee bit mixed up and tested early! Wasn't planned but I am happy I think. Look forward to chatting with you all.

mammyjo · 29/07/2006 17:29

Wow! Only a few days since I first posted this thread and so many fab responses!
Thanks for all the congrats and good wishes. Am nervous but excited at the same time.
Generaldogsbody1, reading your post I realise that I should get 9 months mat leave then! Fantastic! I thought 6 months was good last time! The thought of the whole of next summer off work is just brilliant, cant wait for that. My ds1 will be in school too by the time number 2 arrives so am hoping to get a bit of me time. Maybe a little optimistic!
Good luck to everyone joining this thread! Great to have others to chat to in the same position as me.
