Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Greengirlforever · 11/09/2006 10:52

Good morning to all. I haven't been on since Thursday so a lot of catching up to do!

This is horrible, but I feel strangely relieved that so many other people are having a hard time with their DP's! DH & I have barely spoken all weekend and I am seriously fantasising about divorce and when would be the right time to do it etc! So many reasons why which I won't go into (too boring!) but the worst thing is his hairtrigger temper and short fuse and that he keeps shouting in front of the children, which is very upsetting for both of them, teenager and pre-schooler. No doubt I am hormonal and irritable and setting him off but he needs to grow up and curb it !.

Another early scan this week - mine is on Wednesday. I should be around 9 weeks so we'll see what it says....

And lots of good luck to Cornflakekid and Bucky.

emmymummy · 11/09/2006 11:17

Morning all, so reassuring to know that lots of others are still suffering with boobs, ms, tummy cramps, grumpy DPs etc.....

Am really relieved this morning as I've just told my boss I'm pg and he was fantastic, gave me a huge hug and told me how pleased he is for me (he has 3 small kids of his own so is very much a family man). He was so sweet and understanding and I now feel so much happier.

Anyhow, must nip off and get some pickled onion monster munch to celebrate!

muminamini · 11/09/2006 11:29

I'm so glad I came on here this morning.
Greengirlforever...I feel exactly the same except it is me who is flying off the handle.

I just seem to have developed zero tolerance to my DH, everything he does is just annoying the heck out of me at the moment and I am being such a cow.

He's just rung me from work to see how I am (even that annoyed me...) and we have cleared the air - I just told him that I can't understand why he can't just ignore me if I nag at him as it must be the hormones...he says he will try and be more understanding...thing is I feel I have to try and be less of a cow too...I swear I was never like this when PG with DS.

Hope all are well and had a nice weekend - I spent most of mine asleep....or nagging...lol
Had a spurt of energy this morning and cleaned the entire house as it was doing my tree in but of course now I am totally exhausted and have to go and get ready for work this afternoon....never mind I'd rather the house was tidy and I was tired at work.

Anyone else just got a horrible claggy taste in their mouth all the time??? No matter what I eat or drink it's there afterwards....must find some Polo Fruits as I really fancy them but cannot find them anywhere!!

SOL - lmaooo at your Pete dreams...now v sorry if TMI here but I am so shocked at the intensity of these erotic dreams.....I find I have actually orgasmed more than once (which is a bloody miracle in itself!!) and been woken up by it Is that normal?? Must be the one good pregnancy side effect - although afterwards I panic that it will harm the baby.....why can't I just enjoy it? lol

Must go and hunt the house for a packet of salt and vinegar crisps now....thanks you lot!

Have a good day everyone, welcome to Lelee and thinking of you Cornflake kid, will check in later to see how you went on today
x

bubblez · 11/09/2006 11:37

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your support and for letting me rant on about my DP, oh and for your kind words.
Woke up this morning to a clean house courtesy of DP and .

Sympathy and {{hugs}} to you Greengirlforever knw what you are going through.

Oh Twinkle you do bring a girl hope... I'm 9weeks and 6days and I so hope that when I reach your stage the nausea goes. Although I haven't actually been sick yet I have this constant feeling as though I'll puke any moment all day.

SOL- Raunchy dreams, Strange dreams, violent dreams you name them I have them and all as vivid as the last. Last night I dreamt of being on a boat (I think it was because I feel like I'm on one all day).

Bucky and Cornflakekid hope that your scans go well today. Thinking of you both.

Captaindippy hope that your MW apt goes well too hun. I know what you mean about the needle thing, I hate them too.

Is anyone else suffering with sistitus(sp)?

mammyjo · 11/09/2006 11:39

Morning everyone! I am so glad I looked in on this today, SOL you have really made me laugh with your Pete's willy dream!!

Feeling really sickly this morning which is a change as the evenings have been my worst time of late.

Emmymummy, isnt it nice when work are pleased for you about your pregnancy, one less thing for you to worry about now! I work in the NHS so loads of women getting pregnant all the time. That means that its never a big issue which is nice, pretty good maternity benefits too.

Thinking of you today Cornflake, hope it all goes ok. Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone, hope all ok with you all. Welcome Lelee. Hope you have a good pg.
Thinking of you today cornflakekid, let us know how you get on.

I am 10+2 today and have got my first booking app with mw today. I am a bit jealous of all of you that have had scans can't believe with DS1 that I didn't have any scans until 16wks! Wouldn't this time except mum & dad have offered to pay for the nuchal one privately at 12wks. I really can't wait it all feels surreal at the moment.

Still feel sick a lot of the time but it does seem to be settling down a bit now. Craving crackers and cheese spread at the moment as well as salt & vinegar crisps and monster munch!

Hope you all have a good day. Will check in later

mammyjo · 11/09/2006 11:42

Sorry Bucky, forgot to say hope everything goes well for you today.

Bubblez, good to know your dp has got his backside into gear. Long may it continue!!

Sorry meant to say thinking of you today bucky.

I'd like some of those erotic dreams

doghouse · 11/09/2006 12:04

Hi there everyone
Have been 'lurking' on this thread for a few weeks now - still can't quite believe I am pregnant! Am 11weeks today and have my first midwife appt tomorrow but no scan til 2 Oct - this is mainly due to discovering pg in Somerset and now living in Cheshire and falling b'ween two doctors. Am disappointed as still haven't told anyone and am desperate too as is our first. We were only 'practicing' as got married in May this year and thought it woudl take a while (am 37 this month) but only took a month!

As for symptoms, my skin is not great and although I feel fab first thing, the tiredness and queasiness sets in after lunch and am in bed by 8.30 if I can! DH is being v understanding despite my mood swings but am also putting it down to moving house/location and have no job as yet so all pretty unsettling.

Bugmum · 11/09/2006 12:06

Muminamini - orgasms will not hurt the baby! I absolutely promise you that.

Cornflake - hope all is well with you today, and also that the others awaiting reassurance get it.

Bugmum · 11/09/2006 12:08

Doghouse - welcome to the sickness ward

liath · 11/09/2006 12:13

Hi Doghouse & congratualtions.

This thread is enormous!

liath · 11/09/2006 12:16

OK - have startde a new thread here
Hope the link works.

Sexonlegs · 11/09/2006 12:37

Morning all, and welcome Doghouse. Glad my sordid dreams have brought a smile to a few faces. I too am experiencing orgasms in my sleep that are waking me up. It's fab!! I daren't tell dh of my increased libido, as he will be pestering me for sex, and am feeling soooo sick that is the last thing I fancy!
Any news cornflake kid?
Need to go. Later.... xx

CornflakeKid · 11/09/2006 13:13

hoooooorrrrraaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

as you can tell - it all went well!!! very happy indeed - bean now called baby - due 15 April. DH disappointed not twins! I looked at the image and said 'it's a girl'!!! Obviously can't tell and we've decided not to find out this time - which is good esp with third as there is atleast some anticipation! I haven't had a scan at this stage before - you could see her head and she had her arms up to her face - very cute - in love!

So pleased - had a jalfrezi to celebrate with dh!

Have so many jobs to get on with today - but too excited now to do anything - dh has also agreed that I can look into getting a new kitchen - he has conceded that ours does actually smell damp!

CornflakeKid · 11/09/2006 13:16

and welcome to doghouse!

Sexonlegs · 11/09/2006 13:20

Cornflake kid, that is great news! Good news about the kitchen as well eh! We are in the process of getting a new kitchen fitted at the mo!
Hurrahh for your baby!!!

Greengirlforever · 11/09/2006 13:50

Hooray for Cornflakekid and little bean!

NEW THREAD ALERT!!! Liath has started a new thread for us and has put a link in a couple of posts ago so can someone link to it again and then off we go?

I'm off to say hello on it!

EllieMayW · 11/09/2006 14:32

Welcome to doghouse - and welcome to Cheshire too!

Cornflakekid - Wow! fantastic, cannot believe that you can see so much already, that's amazing!

I am so at all the O's! I would love to trade ms for that symptom! Muminamini - yes I have dreadful taste in my mouth too, constantly and irrespective of how many times I brush my teeth. Eating oranges is the only (temporary)respite for me.

Today's ms is wearing off, phew. Massive tuna baguette at lunch seemed to do the trick!

Am loving this pg thing actually, I am still not sure that it has really and truly sunk in. Holding back for complete joy for 12 weeks etc etc

IsabellaMoi · 11/09/2006 15:42

Hi all and a big, warm welcome to the new members!

I posted about a week ago to say my MS was diminishing. I spoke a little early! I still have good days and bad days but I think maybe the better days are becoming a little more frequent.

I can relate to the vivid dreams - and my DH reports that I've been sleep talking. I woke him up last week and asked him (in my sleep) if he had his earplugs in because the baby was crying! (this is our first - so there aren't even other kids in the house!).

I've felt pretty even-keeled so far but just had a big cry for the irrational reason that I just discovered that I'm not getting my scan 'til Oct 9th (I'll be 13 + 2 then. Mumsnet experts: Does 13+2 mean 13 weeks and 2 days?). I'm pretty sure of my due date (April 14th) so I don't desperately need the scan for dating reasons but I just wanted it sooner and feel very frustrated that I still need to wait a month. I guess we'll be able to see more by 13 weeks but it is also a fact that the most accurate dating can be achieved with scans done at 8-12 weeks. I'm annoyed and still crying out of irrational self-pity but at the same time there is a little voice in my head reminding me that millions of women in the world don't have access to ANY antenatal, let alone ultrasounds.

Great news Cornflakekid! Hope everyone else is doing okay. I'm feeling slightly calmer now that I've been able to vent. Thanks.

IsabellaMoi · 11/09/2006 15:46

oops...should read: "don't have access to any antenatal CARE, let alone ultrasounds"

CornflakeKid · 11/09/2006 17:17

IsabellaMoi - it's very frustrating waiting for scans - I was due a dating scan next monday but I did have to ring them up and hassle them to get it! But they did it today so my next one is 20 weeks (18-21 weeks around here) - now that is a long wait!

Have decided it is okay to rummage through my maternity clothes now and see what I have/need etc! Have no baby stuff at all - will have to start slowly collecting bits now - esp with my ebay and cloth nappy addiction!

Bucky - how are you?

Waiting for the sexy dreams to start...

CornflakeKid · 11/09/2006 17:17

err that's not about Bucky by the way!!!
