*E should say me!

SwissArmyWife · 24/08/2012 20:35

Five bloomin' pages already?! Wink

Just marking my place :)

Passmethecrisps · 24/08/2012 21:14

Lots of blethers!

Just made two batches of cookies including one experimental batch made with nutella. Looking forward to getting stuck into them.

I have three maternity bras from Debenhams. One is a moulded cup and I really like it. The others are softer and provide little in the way of actual support. My boobs feel enormous - I am sure I could go up yet another cup size

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/08/2012 21:18

Vq don't you think Peppa can be a bit of a bitch sometimes though?

On the bra subject I never get on with Emma Jane bras or M and S as I'm not particularly well blessed in that area and the just make what I have got look saggy and sausage like. I need something that gives me a bit more shape, I have a couple of Hot Milks that I like and aMiriam Stoppard.

Also do you find they come up a bit high. So during pregnancy I have a semblance of a cleavage that I don't normally have and I want to show it off with nice necklines butthen the maternity bra always comes up too high.

In bed with box of tissues.

Xx

An update on the washable nappies. No leaks and getting more absorbent with each wash. Can easily last 4 hours if needed or overnight. Only issue is poo! I love washables until there is a poo in one. BF poos are fine, but solid ones that are not solid enough to flick off, or get squidged in through sitting, are gross. DD does the stinkiest poos ever. Gonna make some different liners or use flushable liners I think.

rowingdowntheriver · 24/08/2012 21:28

Ha ha snowfairy! Peppa pig being a bitch! Made me chuckle

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 21:46

sophia X post! Yes Peppa is a spoilt little brat but perhaps a bit young to be a bitch? I blame the parents. Talking of funny dreams, I did dream something fairly erotic with Daddy Pig, and he kept his glasses on Blush He was better than you would think. As for Mr Rabbit... Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/08/2012 21:52

Brilliant. 50 shades of daddy pigGrin

Dixiebell · 24/08/2012 22:09

Daddy Pig? Ewww. Captain Dog maybe...

Dixiebell · 24/08/2012 22:14

I don't think there's an episode I haven't seen, valium. Even DS is able to identify the episode before Peppa says the title just from the opening shot.

NervousAt20 · 24/08/2012 22:24

Yeh I do valium Grin sorry I ment yellow

passme yum how did the nutella cookies turn out?

snowfairy I'm sure there was a thread about peppa pig being rude a few weeks back Grin

Passmethecrisps · 24/08/2012 22:51

Well nervous I am not sure nutella cookies will be a regular part of the repertoire. They look odd - a bit flat - and the taste is barely recognisable. Having said that I am sure I will eat them happily enough. I made peanut butter ones a couple of weeks ago and just thought the nutella would work the same way.

JaffaSnaffle · 25/08/2012 05:25

Hi, lost the thread for a while.

Leg cramps - bananas are good.
Dresses - I have 2 smart non-mat maxi dresses that work well. One is sort of grecian and floaty, the other is very stretchy. I had to get one for my brother's wedding, and I just resented paying so much for a one off wear.

As the time shows, I am AWAKE! Stupid bladder did the waking, but now I am too uncomfortable to sleep and mind is racing.

tits, I haven't done mine yet, but started thinking about it...
A few vests, sleepsuits, hat, cardigans, nappies, cotton wool, snow suit, present for DD from baby...
Tens, bras, maternity pads, throw away knickers, breast pads, old nighty, food, bath stuff, comfy trousers, book, money, then big note to remember phone, charger and notes!
Have I forgotten anything?

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/08/2012 07:23

Daddy pig?! Dear god you've all descended into madness while I've been away!

My friend had her baby last night, another girl called Connie. Not personally keen on that name but at least it's not over used.

I can't wait to have my baby girl, I want to be able to announce her name more than anything!

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 07:42

I like Connie if shortened from Constance. I am fussy about names being 'proper names' not contractions, but that is just me.

We cannot be held responsible for our dreams. I would much rather be dreaming about Dexter Morgan or Indiana Jones!

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/08/2012 07:44

The full name is Connie so not a shortening.

I had a v v nice dream last night, featuring a v attractive man but couldn't put my finger on who it was when I woke up.
It doesn't help reading 50 shades before going to sleep!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 25/08/2012 08:00

Gosh I've woken up with another cracking headache. DP is making noises about going to London for the day. Hmm

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 08:16

tits not sure London is such a bright idea. Can you get your BP and wee checked at out of hours or triage just to be on the safe side? Any flashing lights?

FatimaLovesBread · 25/08/2012 08:54

Sophia My maternity bras come up high, I have a descent cleavage but they're more like wearing a crop top. I had a normal dress on last week, not a low neckline, and my bra kept popping over the top.

VQ For a moment there I thought you were debating calling your DC Dexter Morgan or Indiana Jones Grin

I woke up in the night with heartburn so today my chest is killing me Sad
I've got a wedding today so I hope it calms (and it stops raining). Don't know how long i'll last without feeling shattered.

Evilwater · 25/08/2012 09:03

Tits- I hope everything is ok, and you get sorted.

On the bra front I have not bought any more, since 3 months.
Peppy pig???? Is this a big thing?

As for names, I had my tea leaves read and we saw a lady with a pram with the letter L.

Im off to a baby naming ceremony, this afternoon. I really can't wait.
I've also had some more mucos, this time the size of a five pence. No blood, it just looked like snot.

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 09:19

Schweppes tonic water is great for leg cramps. A glass before bedtime works. Had to be schweppes though as it is the only one to contain quinine. Don't have lots of it but one glass is fine. I have been lucky not to have had leg cramps since about 8 and 9 weeks but tonic water sorted it right out. I like a wee virgin g&t. My sister has been having terrible cramps but a glass of tonic seems to have sorted it.

So glad it's Saturday! Sounds like lots of you have lovely plans for today. My parents are visiting so that'll be nice. They can eat up all the cookies for me!

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 09:25

evil I tried to resist Peppa Pig, but it is like the Borg. Resistance is futile. I was against all the commercialism, but the peace it buys you is priceless, and it is quite good fun. They are not very nice to Daddy Pig though.

fatima I would love to call my boy Indiana or Dexter, but DH knows me Grin

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 09:27

My leg has been hurting in the calf, on the side of the break. I thought it was due to the break, but I have a massive varicose vein come up. Not happy!

StuntNun · 25/08/2012 10:05

This nesting is a pain in the bum. I have spent the last two days tidying up the entire house, vacuuming, ironing and grocery shopping and the sciatica/back ache has returned with a vengeance. My kids keep finding me whimpering over something that has fallen on the floor. I need one of those gadgets the people that pick up litter use. Hopefully it will all be worth it as now there isn't any housework to do so we can have a relaxing Saturday although I'm sure the house will be a tip again by Sunday! DH is back from a week in Germany so it's lovely for him to come back to a tidy and ironing-free house. And we have friends coming over for dinner (ham in coca-cola and homemade chocolate brownies - both Nigella recipes) so it's great that we don't have to frantically rush round making the place look less like we've just been burgled.

DH bought me a Baby on Board t-shirt so I can wear that next time I go to my saxophone lesson. My teacher hasn't worked out that I'm pregnant yet (what can I say, tenor saxophones are slimming) and it's getting a bit awkward to tell her... "By the way did I mention that I'm six months pregnant and may not be able to make my lessons in November" lol.

OP posts:
MissMummy1 · 25/08/2012 10:20

stunt I have a similar situation with a few people I've still not told I'm pregnant - not for any reason other than it genuinely didn't occur to me that people wouldn't 'just know' or I didn't see them for ages after we made the big announcement. And now with some of them it's clear they haven't worked it out themselves (heaven knows how they haven't twigged how much weight I've piled on, maybe they're being polite?) and I don't quite know how to slip 'oh by the way I'm 6 months pregnant..' into conversation! Luckily the only real important people (as in they HAD to know) were my clients who I have just finished with for other reasons, so I never actually had to tell them. The other unobservant feckers can wait 3/4 months and try and guess whose baby I've stolen..

Had a really restless night last night. Couldn't sleep and I knew I was keeping dh awake with my fidgeting so I decamped to the spare room about 3am. Best decission ever! I normally like quite a firm mattress but the one in here is so soft you literally fall into it. Must have helped acheyness as I've just woken up!
