If it was me, I honestly wouldn't Fatima, having hung out in the NICU with my niece - whilst the 37 weekers in there with breathing troubles look like giants squished in the incubators when you compare them to the prems they can be really (like life threateningly) sick with lung problems - so I wouldn't try to get them out at 37 weeks unless I had a really good medical reason and was being advised to do so by the docs. As the Grolsch advert says 'stop stop, it's not ready yet' Grin

Catbag · 04/09/2012 16:04

Ha ha YW, theeess baby, it's not ready yet Grin

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 16:18

I bought a widgey pillow in the Asda event. £19 which is a good price. Good reviews and many uses. It has kept my 2yo occupied for over an hour. She is being a baby and lying on it pretend crying, and using it as a giant neck support pillow.

StuntNun · 04/09/2012 16:26

What happens to women that breastfeed an older child throughout pregnancy then? Are they at risk of early labour?

OP posts:
Catbag · 04/09/2012 16:28

Is that the same as the 'Boppy', VQ? I got one of those when I was about 12 weeks 'cos it was an absolute bargain and it looks like it'll do the job so much better than the v pillow I used with my last set of twins.

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 16:44

catbag pretty much the same yes. I was worried it would not fit around my tummy, but it does, so figure it will do fine when I have had the baby. I had a breast friend pillow with DD2 but gave it away when a pal had an EMCS. She asked if I wanted it back, but I said no, as we did not think we would have any more babies, so she passed it on. It was very hard, more like a shelf, and the belt was a pain. I am more confident this time, and know what a section will feel like, so think this will be fine, and can also be used for baby to sit up etc.

stunt I think if a mum has been tandem feeding throughout it is a bit different, as a toddler feeds differently, and the body automatically produces the right kind of milk according to who is suckling. Perhaps a post on breastfeeding or pregnancy forum may get you some answers?

FatimaLovesBread · 04/09/2012 16:52

Don't worry I won't be expressing beforehand.
Random question though, what happens if your DH sucks them? Not that mine will be going anywhere near them Grin

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 16:57

People lose the ability to suck to that extent by about 4, so you should be fine. It is a reflex that is impossible to imitate apparently. Sucking in itself is not enough, you need the pressure of the tongue to actually 'milk' the breast.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/09/2012 16:57

I'm still in love with my Theraline, I gave my last one away thinking I'd never use it again, my new one however is never leaving my life again. We call it foonana and it's glorious! :D

Just managed to knock up a roast in an hour from stuff I had hanging around the cupboard/freezer. I'm now pouring with sweat and exhausted.

applepieinthesky · 04/09/2012 17:28

How much longer is the Asda baby event on for does anyone know?

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 17:41

No idea apple and I have asked Google. Perhaps call your local branch?

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2012 17:44

I thought it was just last week . Tescos have some good deals atm too - I bought a tt manual breast pump (thanks ladies!) and 6 250ml closer to nature bottles at the weekend with doubled up tesco vouchers, both were half price as well!

FatimaLovesBread · 04/09/2012 17:51

I ordered something from asda last night to collect in store and there were still lots of baby offers on

Dixiebell · 04/09/2012 18:11

Have just booked a night in a hotel for end Sep. not to put off the first time mummies but DS is almost two and this will be our first night away from him (together - we've individually been away for various things but he's always had one of us around to put him to bed). My mum is going to have him. He naps okay round there but never stayed overnight so I'm hoping he sleeps okay and doesn't wake her in the middle of the night. I thought it was about time, and when dc2 arrives if it's anything like the first time, it could be a couple of days with both mummy and daddy away in the hospital, so a good trial run! And might as well combine with a lovely treat for us...!

Just found a flea on my arm, urgh! We don't have any animals so where has that come from?!

Tandem feeding thru pregnancy, which my sis did with her son was actually one of the docs best guesses as to why she went into prem labour. She was starting to notice contractions and BHs when she fed him. Sadly the hospital lost the sodding placenta which they were going to do tests on to see if there was a reason for the early labour - so she'll never definitively know. She has said to me though that she would never tandem feed again.

YellowWellies · 04/09/2012 18:48

Well the house has been on the market four days and we've had 7 viewings and have another 3 booked and it's not even been in the paper yet. I've never sold a house before but reckon this is a good sign for a quick sale....

Fingers crossed - but also starting to think about how horrific a move will be with a newborn in the middle of winter involving either a long and rough ferry crossing or a wild aircraft ride...

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/09/2012 19:13

Argh I feel like I should be doing something, there are jobs to be done. Mind is willing body is not, or possibly the other way round.... My brain is mush, I have stopped mid sentence several times today after completely forgetting what I was saying!

YellowWellies · 04/09/2012 19:13

Pikz I've put pics up on the FB group so you can see you're not the only one lookng nearly full term. Other ladies what do you reckon - boy bump or girl bump? Everyone now is saying boy!!!! Am very confused...

TitsalinaBumSquash · 04/09/2012 19:18

Your bump looks a lot like mine and mine is a boy bump if that helps at all .... Grin

ShellyBobbs · 04/09/2012 19:45

Well I tried to phone the doctors to make sure that I could drop in my sample and for them to check for a UTI. The receptionist got a doctor who wanted to speak to me immediately on the phone, then she made me an emergency appointment with my doctor.

I do have a UTI :(. He was really bothered about the flashing and has put it down to silent migraines but has made sure I go to get my eyes looked at incase there is something going on behind them. I've been signed off work for 2 weeks at the doctors insistence due to the amount of driving I do, also blood pressure right up.

Think I'll watch Holby then slope off to bed, extremely tired tonight even though my lovely 12 year old made spag bol for us all and hubby is washing up Grin

Night all.

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 19:45

YW that is a very good sign re the house. I guess they do not come up for sale that often around there. Interesting about your sister.

I am already in bed as feeling rotten.

ValiumQueen · 04/09/2012 19:46

Shelly I am glad you got seen, and signed off. Make sure you rest!

StuntNun · 04/09/2012 20:03

YW how do you 'lose' a placenta?

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 04/09/2012 20:31
