Hope everyone who isn't feeling too great feels better soon.

Yellow your bump looks a lot like mine but I don't know what I'm having either so that probably not much help to you! Smile

I banged my bump today Sad was doing shopping this eve with DD trying to climb out of the trolley as usual and the trolley bumped into something and the handle bumped my bump! It wasn't that hard but a bit of a knock, do you think I should worry (I am worrying!?) baby is moving around as usual. Not doing the food shopping on my own anymore! Sad

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2012 20:50

Yay for the house yw. Sure we can't tempt you down here pre november if you get a quick sale? Moving whilst pregnant is the perfect excuse to be a complete arsehole and boss men around delegate. Wink

Learned about something called a 'gentle caesarean' tonight at preggo yoga. Sounds like a bit of an oxymoron but I'm off to edit the c-section part of my birth plan!

Will post a bare bump pic on fb group too. Yw and I were comparing from afar, and given that there's only a few days between us, we are carrying soooo differently! Predictions on the colour of MissMummy1's bump very welcome too!

Stunt- accidently lost =the plaenta was accidentally thrown away.
Evil

YellowWellies · 04/09/2012 21:09

Aye Stunt = accidentally thrown away whilst the hospital was moving to a new building...

Gentle caesarean? Que? Do elaborate MM1..

blonderthanred · 04/09/2012 21:18

Yes please more info on the gentle CS!

MissMummy1 · 04/09/2012 21:18

I need to do a bit more research, but the general gist is they drop the screen down after they've made the appropriate incisions, remove head first so baby can start breathing alone straight away and then (if you're in active labour obv) deliver baby with next contraction. You then have skin to skin with your baby while they stitch you up again. Obviously a lot of factors need to fall into place for it to happen but the woman telling us about it had me totally convinced it was the way forward if a c section is essential.

Getting a bit teary watching the midwives. Really puts things into perspective that my baby has already got a brilliant start in life whereas others aren't so lucky... Sad

horseylady · 04/09/2012 21:33

I've only just watched last weeks!! How small was the 3lb baby :( will watch this weeks Thursday.

Preg yoga and antenatal classes start next week!! Should be interesting. It's all becoming so real?! I still can't believe I have milk lol!!

My horse and I had words tonight. After being an absolute saint the last few months, she was a complete bag tonight!! I told her she was supposed to look after me, ESP when I'd just bought her enough hay to see her through the winter!! Also weighted myself and I've lost weight? Should I be worried? It's only 2lbs, guess I should keep an eye on it and speak to mw if it continues?!

Lane our trust don't do antenatal courses anymore!!! Have to do them privately!

applepieinthesky · 04/09/2012 23:11

My trust does a one day antenatal class. No weekly classes anymore.

horsey I read that if you are still exercising you need to make sure you increase your calorie intake.

TheDetective · 04/09/2012 23:26

Told you so Shelly :P

I'm still worried about the flashing and high BP. I know you have seen the GP, but I really really want you to see a midwife. I think you should have your bloods checked etc. Will you please ring the antenatal assessment unit and get an appt!!!! I don't do advice over the internet, but I want you to go and get seen!

I'm feeling stressed this evening. DS back at school in the morning, I'm in work on an early, and DP has only gone and left DS's new school shoes (that he picked up from M&S this morning) in his work locker.....

It's just easier to do it all yourself isn't it?!?

VQ I got the widgey last week too, but it only just fits around me Confused so not sure how comfortable it will be. Anyway, its bought now! So just have to see at the time!

Re: antenatal expressing, it can be done safely from 36 weeks, and is actually recommended for diabetic mothers. Ask your midwife :) There is a lot of information online too.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 05/09/2012 05:48

Awake at 5 again. Angry what in earth happened to my body clock?!
I have physio today which is good because I'm in a world of discomfort right now.

I watched midwives last night, another person so grateful with what I've got in life, some of those flats/houses looked grim. I was genuinely surprised that do many people don't know about things like feet to foot and safe sleeping and storing bottles etc.

My kids aren't back to school until tomorrow then we have a 6am train journey up to London Friday for DS1 to have a Bronchoscopy and an overnight stay for a PH probe study, how the hell I'm going to be sleeping in a hospital chair-bed I haven't a clue.

Passmethecrisps · 05/09/2012 07:21

Morning.

I haven't seen midwifes yet but sadly my job leaves me completely unsurprised about what people don't know. Might get an early night tonight and watch it in bed.

horsey I lost a couple of pounds last week as well. I put it down to the fact that the weight gain the week previously was massive and due to eating an entire pavlova myself Blush. I honestly cannot eat enough - I am eating for 2 and then some I reckon.

Really struggling with back pain at the moment. Getting to sleep last night was hard. It doesn't seem to matter what position I am in - few minutes and I get a burning pain sort of mid back. My massive cushion doesn't seem to make any difference either. Humph

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/09/2012 07:32

Havent watched last nights Midwives yet I watch it on Iplayer while dh watches some war programme.

Going into town to meet my friend for lunch today. She's my age but just about to start a phd so our lives are worlds apart! I've know her since we were 14 though so its nice to still meet up with old friends esp when their lives are so different.

horseylady · 05/09/2012 07:35

Maybe I just need higher calorie foods? Im really struggling to eat much at all. Yesterday I had two slices of toast, an apple, some soup, a couple of biscuits, some peanuts, some risotto. Monday was porridge, salad, vege pie and salad plus a yogurt?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/09/2012 08:24

Grin dh21 that is exactly me!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/09/2012 08:25

The midwives and war programme or possibly Road Wars!

MissMummy1 · 05/09/2012 08:39

DH and his daddy-to-be deckhand apparently watched the midwives on their boat last night! This is a small miracle for the man who point blank refuses to watch obem.

Although normally dh21 and sophia, it's a war programme whilst I watch woman tv on the laptop...

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/09/2012 08:52

There aren't really many programmes dh and I watch together. Dr who is more his thing but I watch it while mning. Jonathan Ross we both like as long as the guests are good and family guy.

Apparently Downton is coming back in a couple of weeks Grin
