My friend is in labour (posting pics on fb...) it's not fair I want my baby!! Feel like I've got age to wait

NervousAt20 · 24/08/2012 17:08

missmummy Grin love that your not giving your keys back until 1st September and it makes me laugh when I read how crazy she's going over it

valium glad everything went well for you today

Angry kiddicare customer service is conversely crap!!!

NervousAt20 · 24/08/2012 17:08

Completely* damn auto corrector is crap too Angry

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/08/2012 17:15

If it is not too a personal question misslaughalot what is your new maternity bra?

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 17:17

nervous do you have me confused with someone else? I have had a shitty day Grin

misslaughalot · 24/08/2012 17:21

Sophia I got a couple of these that someone recommended on an earlier thread (thank you whoever it was!!). They're so comfortable, especially as I've been wearing an underwire until now. They're nursing bras too so should last me a while.

Plus there's a 10% discount if you use the code MM15 at the checkout

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2012 17:25

Can I ask a possible silly question? Blush

I'm feeling new levels of hormonal and I'll tonight, sudden flashy light headache and sickness. It arrived at the same time as a sudden gush of milk, I've not had any sort of boob leakage yet but my top just got a sudden soaking, I know it's normal to have leakage but is everything combined, have my hormones just ramped up a notch which is causing everything? Blush

WaitingForMe · 24/08/2012 17:30

MissMummy - I've found a way to hopefully pressure or embarrass a (former) client into settling a long outstanding invoice. If nothing else, it feels good to be completely within the law while making her life uncomfortable.

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/08/2012 17:32

When I was looking for curtains for DD's room I searched for made to measure curtains. Isn't that what you need? Or do you already have the material?

Am I the only one not willing the time away? I mean it's not like I don't want the baby to come, I'm just in no hurry at all. I have so much I want to do before DC2 arrives. I'm finding it quite scary how quickly this pregnancy is going. I just feel bad when everyone else says they wish it would come round quickly and they can't wait to meet their little ones. Friends look at me a bit oddly when I say I'm in no hurry. I know baby will be here soon, and of course I'm excited to meet them, but the longer they stay cooking the better Smile having said that I don't want to go too long over due. Poor baby can't win can it Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2012 17:37

I don't want him here this second, but 10 weeks seems like forever! Smile

kissyfur · 24/08/2012 17:42

tits I think flashing lights and headache can be a sign of of pre eclampsia - do you have any swelling or being sick? Don't want to worry you but might be worth calling midwife x

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2012 17:46

No swelling that I can see, 2 paracetamol seem to have calmed it. I had pre eclampsia with DS1, can you get it again?
I'm prone to headaches though so might just be that.

rowingdowntheriver · 24/08/2012 18:19

tits, I thought if you've had pre eclampsia in the past you were higher risk of getting it again. Probably worth calling the midwife if you are worried

Dixiebell · 24/08/2012 18:20

I bought that bra too when recommended before. Also love it! It's soft like tights material. Gonna get another one I think.

Dixiebell · 24/08/2012 18:25

DS and I had v lazy afternoon. He sat on my lap sucking his thumb while we watched a whole ep of celeb masterchef earlier. Usually he demands Peppa Pig, fon't know why he found that so enthralling! He's so cheeky. We're about to go up for bath, I said he could watch one Peppa before we go. The cheeky boy understood this completely, so instead of asking for 'more Peppa' as usual, he changed his request to 'watch chuggington please mummy'! So crafty, he's not even 2 yet, how can I resist when he asks so sweetly?

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 18:38

Does that bra give much support though? I could (almost) tuck mine in my knickers if hanging free. Thanks for the link and code. They look comfy.

tits if you have pre-eclampsia, you are likely to have it again, but usually later. I have had the odd flashing light so checked my BP and it was fine. If BP has been ok up until now and symptoms have gone, and no swelling I would think you are ok, but if worried do call. I am unbelievably hormonal an leaking, with MS so not happy.

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 18:39

I love Peppa Pig, and get really excited when there is one I have not seen. Everyone is told to shhh!

Evilwater · 24/08/2012 18:57

Tits I hope you are ok.
I'm off for a week, yay. I really miss daylight.

Last night I thought I had a painful BH's while on duty, I phoned the maternity
unit and I was told it was ligaments moving, her advice, please restHmm. I scared my collouges a bit, but at least they helped me more on the shift which was good. Grin

I went for my antenatal class and it was really good. There was a talk about mucos plug, waters breaking and labour. She brought out a doll and a pelvis, and we had a good laugh as the doll didn't fit the pelvis. I didn't know baby turned so much during labour. Then a brief discussion about the vit k, and pain relief. There was a load of information to absorb, including about car parking Confused.

I'm looking forward to the next one.

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/08/2012 19:14

I've got horrible pgp pain today :( I can barely put weight on my left leg. It's never been this bad before, I wonder if baby has shifted position over to the left more or if it's because she's getting bigger so everything is more a strain.

Im def having a woe is me day today :(

StuntNun · 24/08/2012 19:29

VQ those Emma-Jane bras don't provide a lot of support, they really just hold everything together. I've been wearing mine in bed for comfort at night and I'll live in them for a couple of weeks once baby's here then buy some more structured Emma-Jane bras for daytime once my boobs have settled down to a more normal size and keep wearing the soft ones at night. I wear a bra at all times while breast feeding as I don't want the ligaments to stretch too much.

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 19:50

Thank you stunt I will probably treat myself to some more sturdy underpinned ones. At night and at home I used M&S silky stretchy vests in a couple of sizes too big, so I could just pull down the neckline to under the boobie. I also wore them under tops but over nursing bra when out so belly was still covered. They were £3.50 and thankfully I kept them. I made my own nursing bras last time, but threw them away as I did not think I would need them again.

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 19:51

Sorry you are feeling rotten DH21

DebussyHead · 24/08/2012 19:54

Place marking Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2012 20:04

I'm still in underwired regular bras, I find maternity bras offer no support and my boobs are so big now the weight of them on my bump hurts. Blush

What's everyone putting in their labour bag? I have forgotten everything since DS2! I'm pretty sure I didn't use any of what I lacked with him, it was an in/out quick labour/birth.

nhsworkerneedshelp · 24/08/2012 20:19

I think it may have been. E suggesting the Emma Jane bras. Glad a few of you liked them. I love mine. Ordered some fore recently in a smaller back size as I felt that the back was a little loose. The packaging also kind of implied that a smaller size was needed but u may have misinterpreted. I have E cup boobs and find that even though they are not underwired they provide plenty of support for me, must depend on everyone's own boobage tho!
