Glad everything was ok detective.

Had my anti D injection now, with both DCs in tow (great amusement for them as it was in my bottom!). MW said my blood pressure was good considering they were both there!

I agree apple - I have lots of ideas for a girl (team yellow) but I am really stuck on boys names - love Gabriel, but don't think it goes with DS's name. I like Reuben, but DH doesn't (getting fed up of him not liking any names, but not actually suggesting alternatives!)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2012 10:38

You have anti d in your bottom?! Mine has always been in my arm.
I have mine next week but I've already had 2 lots of it this pregnancy.

I'm about to scale the stairs and completely gut my boys room out, if I'm not back by tonight send a search party can't put it off any longer though.

Daisy My DP is the same. He dismisses everything I like without actually making any suggestions at all. Most of the names I like are insanely funny to him Hmm

Even choosing this baby's name I'm thinking forward to any future DC's names. All of the boys names I love end in 's' - Cassius, Cyrus, Elias, Lucas. With DP's name also ending with 's' it means I can only ever use one of those names or it will sound too daft. So I know if we use Cassius then I can never have a little Elias further down the line Sad Not that I'd be allowed anyway. Apparently Elias is also insanely funny.

MissMummy1 · 24/08/2012 11:42

We're sorted for boy's names, but DH is exactly the same with girl's names! All of my suggestions are too funny, tacky, out there, or not suitable because 'my aunt's next door neighbour had cat called that 20 years ago'. If you get my drift.. Fair enough, but he comes up with no alternative suggestions either!

WaitingForMe · 24/08/2012 11:45

Just got a tape measure and my waist is 45 inches Shock

My wedding dress (Dec last year) had a fitted bodice with a 28 inch waist! This must be why everyone thinks I look so huge - I'm 17 inches bigger. That's a Dita von Teese!

We have our name and refer to him by it between ourselves. Not too keen on sharing it though as I've twice seen it on Mumsnet referred to as a dog name. We love it though.

applepieinthesky · 24/08/2012 11:58

I won't depress myself by getting out a tape measure.

Dixiebell · 24/08/2012 12:06

Tonic water good for cramps, so G&T every night, unfortunately without the G! But still nice with ice and a twist of lime...

We're still thinking of Ted for ours. Prob call him Teddy while he's little. We're considering Victor for middle name as it's DH's Grandad, the only grandfather still alive. I wasn't too keen as I thought Ted Victor might be a bit too old man but coming round to it. Any thoughts?!

applepieinthesky · 24/08/2012 12:26

Yes but old man names are very much in fashion. Teddy is so cute!

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 12:28

I have always wanted a Jody, for a boy or a girl, as my first dog was called that. DH, who never knew the dog, said 'no' because of her. He suggests Silas, I was bitten by a dog of that name, but that does not count. Men!

waiting that is impressive! I am nearly that big, but started off with a much larger girth. It is just a measurement. Nothing we can do about it. No need to stress over it.

WaitingForMe · 24/08/2012 12:39

I'm kind of fascinated rather than worried about it valium. My arms and legs are the same size, no weight put on my face etc. Just huge bump and massive boobs. I've always had a big bum (which I liked) but it looks so small now!

I unbalance easily and am wondering where it'll end. I don't look particularly pregnant from behind and still have a somewhat defined waist. I look kinda like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&rlz=1C1CHFX_en-GBGB458GB459&biw=1600&bih=775&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=wpyPKlcB4V766M:&imgrefurl=fatimatulicious.blogspot.com/2010/12/mr-greedy_09.html&docid=YuGjhGpQdTPfBM&imgurl=4.bp.blogspot.com/_MMoKwVT6HME/TQEWqDbsyqI/AAAAAAAAABw/1kL1SW1IADA/s1600/mr-greedy%2525255B1%2525255D.gif&w=892&h=913&ei=gWc3UM6zHKb80QX03YG4CQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=604&vpy=163&dur=1&hovh=227&hovw=222&tx=117&ty=139&sig=109294439384692691465&page=1&tbnh=123&tbnw=120&start=0&ndsp=38&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0,i:133" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Mr Greedy and surely there'll come a point where I just topple forwards? Maybe a single wheel on a stick to rest under the bump to help me balance?

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 12:57

A wheelbarrow like Buster Gonad? Sorry, cannot do links on this.

NervousAt20 · 24/08/2012 14:06

Glad everything's okay detective that must have been awful for you!!

Just won a next pink fluffy snow suit on eBay Smile

Brockle · 24/08/2012 14:20

Given that you are not using Yousef is it ok if I do apples Smile Funnily enough it is the only name DH and I can agree on! It has Dad's approval because of Cat Stevens. You should have seen DH roll his eyes when he heard that!

TheDetective · 24/08/2012 14:39

Quick dumb question alert! I want curtains making. I put curtain makers in to yell.com and it does not give me the results I require! What should I be searching for?! Tried sewing shop... Nope... Help!

NervousAt20 · 24/08/2012 14:49

Maybe a dumb answer but isn't it a seamstress that makes curtains?

applepieinthesky · 24/08/2012 14:51

Of course Brockle Smile I thought both Joseph and Yousef were perfectly normal names but DP wasn't having it.

I can't have Evan either because it's the name of a notorious prison in Iran or Ezra because it's a girls name there.

Detective Have your tried searching for tailor?

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 14:54

Make them yourself detective. It is likely to be pricy, and it is not hard. I made some out of Velvet with a 2.5m drop for my parents a few years ago. The worst bit was cutting it as there were 4 and the Material was about £400 alone!

Yousef is cool!

TheDetective · 24/08/2012 14:57

I don't have the time, skill, or motivation to do them! Plus I want them with eyelets which I'm not gonna be able to do! I don't even own a sewing needle!

It's not a seamstress or tailor. Just tried both!! Waaaaaah :(

misslaughalot · 24/08/2012 15:01

How about this place Detective www.curtain-maker.com/

ValiumQueen · 24/08/2012 15:04

It will be expensive wherever you go detective Would you consider tab top? Ties? Could you fix material to a roller blind?

YellowWellies · 24/08/2012 15:27

I just got some cracking cheap curtains from the Very sale for our spare room - £19 for the pair! Lined! Am v chuffed.

Just back from yet another scan to check about my 40 hour BHs. Well it turns out the escape hatch is still firmly closed with no sign of cervical funnelling so I don't need steroids or a cervical stitch or to be flown down to Aberdeen. The sonographer also confirmed I'm not carrying an abnormal amount of fluid and the baby is a perfect 50th percentile for head and belly circumference and weighing in at 2lb 8oz (approx) - which is spot on for 27+4. I'm chuffed to bits as with my sis having a giant and then a wee prem' we keep joking that all we want is something in the middle and we seem to be getting it. With it being 50 percentile that has made us think, even more than before, that we are team pink as both of our families tend to make huuuuuuge baby boys.

It was nice to see junior again - already perfectly aligned but doing lots of moving about - they were casually lolling upside down with a foot dangling over their nose!!! Then did some thumb sucking, hiccuping and a big yawn. The sonographer has booked me in for another scan at 32 weeks - just for reassurance with our family history and because she seems to be a big softy who would rather be scanning the few pregnant ladies on the island than old people's DVTs and other more common conditions on Orkney!!!

As for what to do with the mad contractions and BHs - I've been told to lie down, chill out, work from home more and avoid bucket seats - I seem essentially, to have an irritable uterus to go with the irritable rest of me Grin

MissMummy1 · 24/08/2012 15:50

Brilliant news yw - glad all is (by the sound of it) better than well!

Just had my ex-landlord on the phone. Thought now we'd finally moved we'd got shot of her but apparently not.. Our tenancy doesn't officially run out until the 1st September (as she conveniently reminded us of in her fake solicitor letter) and I'm damned if I'm handing the keys back before that - here's hoping junior's not half as stubborn as me. Anyway, in my sweetest, politest telephone voice I told her this when she phoned demanding them back now (like, right now this instant) and she kicked off ROYALLY. Funny how someone with so little english knows so many swear words! Is it really wrong that I'm secretly quite amused that (in our lovely new home) we are the better people doing everything above board and legitemely - and quite literally holding all the keys - while she's absolutely sh*tting herself that we will report her again? Which, by the way, we are going to do anyway. What an idiot.

YellowWellies · 24/08/2012 15:56

Hahaha I think I'd be similar MM!!! There sometimes is nothing better than doing the right thing and still pissing people off Grin

Yep am really chuffed with the diagnosis though we have been warned that having irritable uterus means that my risk of early labour is 20% compared to the average 11%. On the plus side it is extremely rare for ladies with UI to go over their dates...

misslaughalot · 24/08/2012 16:23

I am in love with my new maternity bra...
