stunt I am with you on nesting being a pain. I have been trying to tidy this week, but have no stamina. Don't ever seem to have had a real burst of energy this pregnancy (or if I did it was hidden by the fact I have been entertaining two very active DCs all day for the past 5 weeks!) Now I am fed up because there is lots I want to do and I can't see it getting done. DH is great at making places look tidy, but he tends to do this by stuffing everything in drawers/cupboards which drives me mad.

Another Peppa Pig fan here (the programme, not actually her, she needs the naughty step a bit more often!) Also like Roary the Racing Car. Forget Daddy Pig, I reckon Big Chris has some hidden talents...!

Hello all,

I had a shitty nights sleep, I had a nap yesterday afternoon and still felt shattered so I thought I'd be zonked out, but I just could not sleep. Can't wait to crawl into bed tonight. I was in such a grump this morning, but we went out and I got myself a pedicure, and it was heaven. I have now got blue toe nails and I love them. I only seem to wear flip flops so it's nice to have nice toes for the first time in months.

I have just finished off a cushion cover and now it's feet up time, DH is cooking tea.

Hmm I think we have a few cartoon perverts on here Grin I only know of Peppa Pig because my little cusion demands it on and I have to say Daddy Pig just don't quite do it for me Grin

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 11:45

Quick question ladies. Has anyone else noticed really rhythmic movements? Mine has done the same movement over and over again like to a beat. Did it yesterday as well. Any thoughts?

P.S. I have yet to come across peppa pig apart from on lunch boxes. Last toddler I met was a wooly and tig fan.

Peaky1 · 25/08/2012 11:51

Pass - could be hiccoughs. I experienced it for the first time this morning. Went on for about half an hour with the odd frustrated kick thrown in for good measure. It made me laugh!

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 11:53

That's what I wondered. He/she really wiggling about. I don't think my shouts of "stick your fingers in your ears ad swallow some amniotic fluid" will have helped.

ShellyBobbs · 25/08/2012 11:58

Tits I had a midwife appointment on Thursday and my blood pressure was on the high side. She told me that if I got any headaches at the front of my head and flashing lights, then get checked out straight away as it is dangerous. It won't hurt you to just get a check out and get your blood pressure taken.

This nesting thing is getting on my nerves too, it's actually affecting me at work! I work in the community and go into peoples houses assessing various needs when they come out of hospital, so lots of people are stuck in a chair with reduced mobility. I've found that when I'm checking out the kitchen, I'm actually asking them if I can just do the washing up and end up scrubbing the tops and anything else. I was assessing someone in the shower yesterday, a drop of water went on the floor and I bleached the whole bathroom for them when they were getting dressed Shock. I do explain myself to people so they don't think I'm a cheeky cow, so far everyone has found it hilarious!

I'm wallpapering and glossing today and I can't wait sad.

Oh and I measured my bump, it's 37 inches. My midwife said that I'm measuring bigger than my other 3 at this stage too........

jaylee89 · 25/08/2012 12:05

pass its defiantly hiccups my dear, my little bean does it almost everyday when im led down of if i drink sunny d lol strange! its where they are practicing swallowing and breathing in the womb.....it feels amazing i love it when she gets them make me giggle.

Peaky1 · 25/08/2012 14:21

Same thing, different spelling! Mine has them again right now. Actually starting to feel a bit sorry for him, lol

GTbaby · 25/08/2012 14:44

Good afternoon ladies.

I always forget some parts of a pedicure are quite uncomfortable. Having loads of dead skin removed right now. Only had them done two weeks ago! But going to a party tomorrow so treating myself Grin

Not looking forward to drive to the party tomorrow. 2 hours Sad n my hips r playing up. The bit right in the crease. Think might b sdp.

Kicks r starting to get annoying Blush spesh and last thing at night and morning when my tummy feels achy.

Evilwater · 25/08/2012 14:47

Well, some how I'm making 15 pasties on Wednesday.

StuntNun · 25/08/2012 14:53

DH has criticised my dinner plans because there is no starter! I thought ham in coca-cola and chocolate brownies with vanilla ice cream was more than adequate. But no, so he is off to Tesco to buy ingredients to make brie in breadcrumbs with cranberry sauce. YUMMY! I've asked him to make sure mine is extra runny so that it's definitely cooked through. We will feast well tonight.

Btw waist is 40 inches, biggest part of bump is 43 inches. And I have put on 20 pounds mwaa ha ha ha ha. Grin I love being pregnant and having a huge belly, it's my favourite part of having a child. I'm treasuring every kick (even the ouchy ones) because this will probably be the last time.

Never heard of hiccough. Ever. Learn something new every day.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/08/2012 15:09

Wow these threads are moving on super fast. Just moved house, which combined with a toddler and a heatwave has meant a busy week.

This pregnancy is going really fast. Having to take DD out of childcare (long story) and doubt will be able to get her another place in the next few weeks so busy weeks ahead.

Had a scan last week and everything seems OK. Passed the diabetes test so am pleased with that. Hate drinking the glucose solution. This baby moves a lot less than DD did. I'm trying not to freak out about that - DD was particularly active.
Next scan booked for 11 September - hopefully will be given a provisional date for the ELCS then.

Hoping he will leave it as long as possible - am in no rush...

YellowWellies · 25/08/2012 17:37

I am another anti-shortened name Nazi - don't get me wrong I intend to shorten the baby's name and make nicknames (and don't mind if others do too) but on the birth certificate we'll put the full name so the wee one can decide their own shortening. I became this way after hearing some trendy London friends had decided to call their son Ned - deciding against Edward and so removing the kids own choice to choose whether he fancied being an Ed, Eddie, Ned etc. I have to confess having a wee bit of a mean giggle when I told them that Ned, in Scotland is basically the equivalent of chav. Trendy London parents with son called chav shocker!!! Grin

MissMummy1 · 25/08/2012 18:17

Not a fan of shortened names either, BUT we are tempted with the name Lottie. A little old fashioned and not too quirky (I hope) - however, I'm not a fan of Charlotte because I'm really petty and DH once went out with a Charlotte... as I taught an obnoxious little brat called Charley once so couldn't cope with it being shortened to that instead by other people.

Why oh why are girls' names SO much harder than boys?! I always thought it would be the other way round, but although we have a definite boy's name there are about 4/5 others on our list I would be equally happy with. sigh...

Someone mentioned earlier (baby brain forgets who, sorry!) that they hate modern 'made up names' too. After teaching a class full of Haydens, Jaydens and Kaydens I'm sooo with you on that one! Classics stick around for a reason..

YellowWellies · 25/08/2012 18:24

How about a foreign version of Charlotte like Charlotta or Carlotte - and shorten that to Lottie?

MissMummy1 · 25/08/2012 18:27

That could work . I still have quite a strong feeling this one's blue - as now does my mum - so not getting too upset that we don't have a definite girl's name.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 18:32

Girls names are way easier IMO.

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 18:35

Yup. We are going for a proper length name so that she can choose herself. I say she because the boy's name is already short so there will be no shortening.

DH reckons that hiccough is the original spelling of hiccup. He is a word geek.

I felt really sorry for hiccuping baby as I find them so annoying myself. I was imagining him getting really frustrated.
