Well, we don't do things by halves on this thread ladies!
Congrats There on your baby boys! Impatient monkeys
I ended up in triage myself this morning. I think I cursed myself by talking about patterns in movement. Bloomin' child didn't move as I was falling asleep last night, or this morning when I lay in bed for 3 hours wide awake, waiting for the usual movements, and then actively trying to get it to move. By lunch time I gave in and went to labour ward for monitoring.
I can categorically say, my heart almost stopped. On trying to listen in there was nothing, not a placental sound (considering I've got an anterior placenta this should have been heard straight away) for over 2 minutes. The midwife who saw me was 2 seconds away from getting the scanner and the Reg, when the baby kicked, and we heard the movement, then about 10 seconds later the heartbeat could be faintly heard. knowing what I know, I can honestly say I feared the worst, because the 'nothing' noise is exactly what you find, when... well. I can't say it, but you know what I mean.
Of course the baby then started moving, and hasn't stopped since! Even when I went to work after all this and was stood scrubbed up at the theatre table, baby managed to kick the leg of the patient who was under general anaesthetic. Which is very reassuring. But painful, it seems more vigorous now!
On an aside - chatting with my 2 fellow colleagues who are pregnant, one 36 weeks and the other 38 weeks, we noted we are all measuring small for dates. All of us 3-4 weeks smaller. Hmmmm.... and what do we all have in common?! A very very stressful job! There we have it, a reason for a smaller bambino! Work! I knew it was bad for me
