Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Hello,

Can I join too? I think I'm due 4 Nov, but having had a missed miscarriage last year, can't even imagine getting past 12 weeks yet.

Only symptoms so far bust like two rocks and an ability to eat anything that isn't nailed down (!)

HopingCat · 02/03/2006 12:43

Welcome to you both!

I've considered using clearblue digital to get a definite written answer, but have decided that I'm now late enough to know that I really can't be anything except pregnant. I've got a very regular cycle. If anything arrived now I would assume it's a very early miscarriage (not thinking about that though)

My only definite symptom is sore boobs. I've also found I can't eat a big meal without getting indigestion, but I don't know if this is pregnancy related or not. Part of me wants symptoms to make it feel real, but the part of me knows that in a few weeks time I'll probably be wishing the symptoms would go away, so I shouldn't be wanting them so much now!

awayfromhome · 02/03/2006 13:20

I couldn't wait until tomorrow morning to do another test, so did one this evening and it didn't work!!!

I was using clearblue (not the digital one as you can't buy them here) there was just one line, meaning not pregnant but then the control line never appeared. Reading the blurb it says that the test hasn't worked. So now am very confused. Still no AF and have bad indigestion and feel rather nauseous most of the time. But now am worrying that I am not pregnant after all and simply imagining it :(

HopingCat · 02/03/2006 14:03

I think you are unlikely to get the right result in the evening. You need to have not been to toilet for over 4 hours, otherwise the hormone that the test is looking for is very diluted.

Plus, if there is no control line on the test then the test failed. I've had this before.

Take another test with first wee of the morning and I'm sure it will be positive.

awayfromhome · 02/03/2006 14:11

I was thinking that - but it is very nice to have someone else say it :) It is difficult not to get too excited, and frankly I just wish I could get hold of one of those digital tests - less room for confusion! Fingers crossed for a BFP tomorrow morning...

pinkmagic1 · 02/03/2006 14:44

I found out yesterday I am expecting my 2nd on 5th November, DS is 20 months. Trying not to get too excited as its early days but can't help it!

HopingCat · 02/03/2006 14:45

I have found that the best tests are the cheapest ones, where you dip the stick for 15 seconds and then wait 4 minutes. They cost about £1 here and seem better than the more expensive ones. Don't know if you can them near you. Where are you by the way?

Fingers crossed for your positive tomorrow. I know the wait is hard. If you are due 9th Nov then you can't have been pg very long, so you will definitely need first wee of day. My line is still faint, and I'm due 5th Nov.

Let us know the result! Smile

HopingCat · 02/03/2006 14:46

Hi! Welcome to the thread! I am also due 5th Nov. I think it's so great and can't wait to tell people that this years firework night might be even more explosive!

pinkmagic1 · 02/03/2006 14:53

Not really getting any major symtoms but then I didn't with DS, just feeling slightly hungover but without the alchohol on the odd morning!

awayfromhome · 02/03/2006 15:41

I'm in Hong Kong - and sadly the only tests I can get my hands on are clearblue - the single ones not cheap at £6 each!! So trying to not buy too many... but will definetely let you know the result tomorrow..

cece · 02/03/2006 18:02

mower

did two faint lines tests so splashed out on clearblue digital. no mistaking comes up either pregant or not pregnant. much clearer but more expensive..

spod · 02/03/2006 19:45

Hi all, i did another test this morning and its a definate BFP. think I'm due Nove 10th, but will need cs so will be week before. My symptoms started last weekedn, sickness! last time i didnt get sickness till 7 weeks, this time its started at 3.5 weeks! its not too bad a t the mo. and I dont really care, I'm just so pleased. Have cravings for tuna and spinach too...definately more tired, but have a 2.5 yr old to run around after so not surprising. Hope you are all well

cece · 02/03/2006 19:49

congrats Grin

mower · 02/03/2006 20:05

Congratulations spod!!! I did a clear blue digital this afternoon and it came up pregnant, so now am starting to get my head around it.

spod · 02/03/2006 20:24

congrats mower, funny that you read my other thread then went and checked the test you threw away!!

AussieinLondon · 02/03/2006 20:56

Hi all and congrats to everyone! HopingCat - I did a digital test after the very faint positives on the normal tests. Would definitely recommend it as there is no doubt about the result.

DH looked after dd all day today while I went to a spa (birthday present from last July!). It was bliss. Feel like a new woman, though couldn't have a massage due to being pg. Small price to pay I guess.

awayfromhome · 03/03/2006 01:42

Hi all, I did another test this morning and it is a definite BFP :) Got a much darker line this time so finally letting myself get excited!!

HopingCat · 03/03/2006 09:16

Congratulations to everyone!
I'm still waiting for nurse to get back to me. I went to surgery this morning with another sample so hopefully I should get a definite positive today. I don't doubt it myself anymore as my boobs are so sore, but it would be nice for the GP to put me in touch with midwife etc

awayfromhome · 03/03/2006 09:20

HopingCat - fingers crossed you get your definite positive later today.

twocatsonthebed · 03/03/2006 10:11

Morning everyone

I'm off to the doctors too this afternoon - because of the miscarriage I'm hoping that I'll be able to get an early scan and a bit of extra support. (which would have happened had we stayed in London, but instead we're in the heart of the countryside, so who knows...)

Hopingcat - first time for me too, so we can leap into the unknown together!

Tinasan · 03/03/2006 11:20

Hello everbody,
Can I join? I did 2 Clearblue Digital tests this morning and to my utter shock they both said 'pregnant'!!!! I can't believe it, our first month TTC and we didn't even really do it much!!! My last period started on Jan 28 so I think this means I'm 4+6 and my due date is 4th November - could anyone tell me if this is true?

thanks
Tinasan

HopingCat · 03/03/2006 11:57

This is great! New people joining us every day! Congratulations to you both Smile

Twocats - I'm glad there is now someone else who is jumping into the unknown havng their first. Hope all goes well at the doctors. What is your due date?

Tinasan - I think you are due 4th Nov, as my last period was one day after yours and I think I'm due 5th Nov. I've not had this confirmed by GP yet though.

Tinasan · 03/03/2006 12:25

Thanks HopingCat - I guess I'm 5 weeks tomorrow then, yippee! DH is rather shocked and mumbling about having another Scorpio in the family (I am and so is his mother) ...ha, all the more to gang up on him. Do you have any symptoms? I just feel like AF is about to arrive but can't say I'm feeling sick or anything - do you know when that is supposed to kick in?
Congrats to you as well of course!
TS

HopingCat · 03/03/2006 14:33

I spent most of first week feeling like af was about to arrive. I found it quite unnerving to have a positive test but af symptoms at same time. I was always worried I'd read the test wrong. Now I have sore boobs and have noticed a bit of heartburn, but I haven't really got any symptoms that make me feel very pg.

Tinasan · 03/03/2006 17:27

Hi HopingCat,
How did you get on at the doctors - I hope they confirmed your pregnancy for you? I'm going on Monday - not that I think they will do much, but I have a pre-existing condition (nothing too serious) and they told me to tell them as soon as I became pregnant.
Have a good weekend
TinaSan
