Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

i wish id known of this site with my first, anything you need to know/want to talk about there is always someone who can help!!

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:39

That is our main problem, we like lots of different names and then get put off because we know someone (or something!) with it already!

It took us the whole pregnancy to decide last time!

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 12:50

yeah theres a lot of names he suggests and i say no coz so and so has a son named that, or no i knew somone called that at school and they were horrible! it takes forever!!

with dd i stuck with chloe may and when she came out that was all i could call her, dp just had to put up with it!!!! lol

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:54

We knew we were having a boy last time, and we got the names narrowed down to either Thomas Lee or William (Will for short, obviously then couldn't have Will Lee!! So we weren't going to have a middle name) but Thomas Lee won the battle in the end anyway!

awayfromhome · 28/03/2006 14:13

NatalieJane - we obviously like the same names as Thomas is our boy name. We can't decide on a girls name as we used our two favourite names last time!

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 14:18

We had Jai lined up for a girl last time (just incase the scan was wrong!), but DH has gone off that now so it is a good job the scan was right afterall. :) I quite liked Mackenzie for a girl as well, but it is a bit chavvish now I think.

Hi everyone

I'm a little late to this board as on earlier visits to this site I couldn't find anything on Nov 06 groups. Anyway this is my first pregnancy and I'm due 5 Nov. Very, very excited!

I've noticed from previous threads that you have a stats list going on, so I hope you don't mind if I pop my details on there and join in.

Welcome and congrats Zinc! :) How are you feeling?

I am still last on the list! :( :o

zink · 28/03/2006 15:32

Hi NatalieJane
I'm feeling good so far! The cramps at the very beginning have gone. My boobs are huge and sore. Have had a little bit of nausea, but nothing serious. Jeans are getting tighter by the day. My legs seem to be putting on weight the fastest, and tummy is growing a little bit.

How are you feeling? :)

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 15:46

It is so exciting isn't it!! :o

Sore boobs, I was feeling sick but that has all but dissapeared, getting short sharp feelings in my belly, which I am told is just everything stretching. Some things still taste funny but that is seeming to get a bit better as well, sleepless nights, and nipping to the loo every five minutes, I am enjoying having the excuse to put my feet up though!!

HopingCat · 28/03/2006 16:48

Hi Zinc!
I'm due same day as you and it's my first baby too. Hope you are doing ok. I'm currently wondering if every tiny ache is related to being pg, like my back ache, or whether I'm just noticing everything loads more.

Has anyone got a scan date through yet? I know I'm only 8 weeks and scan is around 12, but surely I should get a bit of notice?

zink · 28/03/2006 17:04

Hi HC

I'm also starting to feel that no one is taking notice of me (doctor wise) or my tiny growing baby. But from what I've read this is the norm. Funny really as what are you meant to do if you have any queries, questions or worries? Join sites like these! I'm forever grateful to them and the lovely ladies that occupy them.

The last time I spoke to the doctor he said someone will get hold of me - still patiently waiting!

So, we're both expecting fireworks on the night our babies are due to arrive - can't wait!!

Thanx for the warm welcome! :)

cece · 28/03/2006 17:09

zink,
don't worry when you have your booking appointment the midwife will answer all your questions then. After that you get a bit more attention!
MeAndMyBoy
Hi there, not too bad today, a bt tearful but still nothing happening. Mum and dad arrive soon to help out for a week so think that might start me off again..

fatbetty · 28/03/2006 17:11

When I was expecting my first, I remember going into the doctor the day I missed my period and excitedly told them I was pregnant and was slightly disappointed by their lack of enthusiasm (sp?). They didn't even do another pregnancy test to confirm it - which I thought was a bit shocking (used to work in a US doctors office and they were always doing pg tests).

This time when I went in and told the docs they filled out some paperwork and then about 10 days later got a letter through telling me my scan dates - don't know if this is the same for everybody. But I do have an appointment next week to see the MW at the surgery and I'm only 7 weeks.

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 17:13

I felt exactly the same Zink, couldn't understand why no one was bothered by the fact that we were having a child! I guess they see PG women all day everyday, and to be fair PG, on the whole, doesn't need much medical intervention really.

I haven't booked my doctors appointment yet let alone the m/w one for this exact reason! (but it is my second so I know the drill!)

Hi there, I am a student at Birkbeck College (Uni of London) studying an MSc Human Development, and part of my course requires me to take part in Infant Observations. While this sounds daunting (and maybe uninteresting for some...) it is not as clinical as you may think! It simply means that one hour a week, for about 18 months (probably no more), a warm and open mother will allow me into her home to 'observe' her (or her husbands/other family members) interaction with the new born. I will literally be a fly on the wall, I will not judge, speak or talk to the baby or the mother. I shall not be making notes (this is the clinical part I am afriad people will think), in fact you are not even suppose to notice me. The hour that you will allow me to visit will depend wholly upon the mother's wishes, though hopefully an hour when the baby isnt sleeping... As a mother with a new infant, I expect that some people will be thinking that this is the last thing they will want- an intruder/ and outsider. This is the last thing I would want to feel like too. I would like the mothers to know that this is completely confidential. Names will be changed etc. And if teh mother is interested- at the end of my course (June 2008) I have to submit a paper based on my observations, the motehrs are entirely entitled to read them too. As this is a requirement for my course, I have taken the necessary police/Crimincal Records Bureau Checks, and come from a background in child (and adult) related volunteer work as my CV will testify. If there are any expecting mothers who may be interested to hear more about this, but not necessarily make a commitment to allowing me their time, please contact me on [email protected]. My name is Neda, and I would also like to note that I think it would be in both of our interests if I could meet the mother during the end of her pregnancy to see if we are both comfortable with each other and ask any other questions beforehand. This will take the pressure off both of us!

I am looking for mothers who are expecting to give birth in November or December, or even January, preferably in Central London. I am based in Kensington.

Thank you so much and I really apppreciate your taking the time to read this!
