Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Congrats HopingCat. Is this your first?

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 09:31

Morning,

Hi HopingCat I've just posted on the feb thread as well. Congratulations, give it a couple of days and I'm sure your line with be darker. I think someone said it takes 48 hrs for HCG to double?

Any way welcome to the thread :).

No I haven't booked in the docs yet to be honest I probably won't until I'm about 10 weeks, cause I'm still going to have to wait for a couple of weeks after that for a scan so at least it won't make the wait feel that long.

An independant midwife sounds a really good idea. To have someone 'on your side' if you know what I mean. It's fantastic that your considering a VBAC, but as you say you don't have to decide yet.

Mummy2Toby · 27/02/2006 09:45

Congratulations Hopingcat and I look forward to getting to know you - wow, 4 of us now Smile

Aussieinlondon - Have you thought about a Doula? They are really supportive and are there for you no matter what, they can also be good at helping you to maje decisions. (I was going to take a doula course but will have to put it on hold for a while now)

MeAndMyBoy - You are good not to contact the dr's until 10 weeks - I really can't wait, I know it won't make any difference but I have to feel like something is happening - lol!

Thanks for welcoming me everyone.

Yes this is my first so I really have no idea what to expect of the next few months. Should I be feeling more symptoms than I do? I don't feel different, just feel like af is about to start all the time which is freaking me out a bit

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 10:45

I might have to book in sooner though I think I need a filling and defintely want it to be free :). As you say there is nothing that they do before they book you in for your first scan so no point really and my doc's aren't really that good, they haven't had a health visitor for the last 12mths so don't expect a great deal of help from them.

I remember being quite disappointed last time when I went to get it confirmed they just took my word for it.

HopingCat I'm the same don't actually feel particularly different either. Keep forgetting I'm pg. Still feels sureal to be honest. Once the movements start then it will feel more real.

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 10:47

Oops meant to say HopingCat I have felt like AF is on it's way too, was due on Thursday but that has settle down a bit now.

Mummy2Toby · 27/02/2006 10:57

I have felt like AF is going to come too, but don't feel so much like that today - infact my back has stoped aching aswellSmile Just a wait now to see if any sickness kicks in - I wasn't so bad with ds, just a couple of odd days but am kind of hoping that this one will be a girl (not that I mind either way) So I might have a different pg if it is Grin
My 1st day of last af was 22nd Jan - how about you two?

OP posts:
HopingCat · 27/02/2006 11:51

Mine was 29th Jan, so I think I'm due Bonfire night! Can't wait to tell people that. We're not telling anyone yet though. I'm going to see GP nurse first.

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 11:53

Do you think you'll find out the sex when you have your scan M2T?

the first day of last AF was .... 27th Jan makes me due 3rd Nov.

Mummy2Toby · 27/02/2006 12:06

Yes, I think I might find out the sex this time - I am still not sure because it is what it is and there is nothing you can do - but at least I will know if I can go mad buying pretty pink things or stick with what I have already got Grin
Going by your AF's that could make me due in October but with my ds the first day of last AF was 20th Jan and they gave me a due date of 5th Nov! (He was born on 14th) so that is why I am on November board, suppose I will find out for sure at the dating scan but I will stay here anyway.

Will you find out the sex?

OP posts:
MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 12:17

No we won't find out the sex. Didn't last time but I knew it was a boy all along, this time I won't have a clue which will be fun.

You could try using a due date calculator?

\link{http://www.babycentre.co.uk/calculators/duedate/\here's one}

What about you HopingCat, AussieinLondon do you think you'll find out?

Mummy2Toby · 27/02/2006 12:22

MaAndMyBoy - I tried a due date calculator and they said October and I am week 6 but I keep thinking of DS and the dates - there are only 2 days difference, so I think I will stick to NovemberWink

How is everybody feeling? Any sickness yet?

OP posts:
AussieinLondon · 27/02/2006 12:23

We will definitely find out the sex. We did last time - I found it really helped to feel connected to the little person inside me. I already feel like this one is a boy though - just a feeling, plus DH and I both dreamt we had a boy the night after we found out. My first day of last AF was Jan 30 which makes me due on the 6th I think. I was 12 days late with DD though...

AussieinLondon · 27/02/2006 12:25

No sickness yet. Hoping it won't happen this time though could be kidding myself. I was dreadfully sick up to 14 weeks last time.

Mummy2Toby · 27/02/2006 12:28

AussieinLondon - all my friends who have dd's were really sick in the 1st trimester and the ones with boys were not so bad, I wasn't bad at all with ds - so maybe your dream was rightGrin this one might be a boyWink

Last time we just knew from the start that the baby was a ds ...... this time I don't really "feel" like it is a girl or a boy ... just not sure Smile It's still exciting though

OP posts:
HopingCat · 27/02/2006 13:59

I really don't want to find out the sex of the baby, although I suppose that as I get more used to the idea of being pg then maybe I'll start to think about it. Does everyone else have children already? Is it just me who has no idea what the next 9 months will be like?!

HopingCat · 27/02/2006 14:02

I've not felt sick at all, but I have had a tender tummy for about a week. It's not always like af pains, almost like it's the muscles that are hurting. Boobs are getting more sore by the day too.

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 15:18

I think at the moment HopingCat the rest of us have LO's already but it won't stay like that wait til we get a few more joining us. But as the old cliche goes every pregnacy is different so while we all know what happened last time doesn't mean we have any idea what to expect this time.

I'm all excited about there being 4 of us.

Karmamother · 27/02/2006 15:23

Just popping in to say congratulations to you all. I was in the due Nov 05 thread & I can't believe there's a Nov 06 one. Wishing you all healthy & happy pregnancies.Smile

MeAndMyBoy · 27/02/2006 23:35

Hi Karmamother, thanks for the best wishes. This is really sureal as I was watching your thread until you all popped. Couple of the beanie ladies from my orginal TTC thread are on it.

I hope that you and your lo are doing well.

HopingCat · 28/02/2006 12:43

Hi,

Hope everyone is feeling ok.
Mummy2be - let us know what your GP says tomorrow. I've been told to drop off a sample tomorrow. Not sure what happens from there. I'm just so worried they will tell me their test is negative! All my tests have had such faint lines. Would be so nice to hear someone else tell me I'm pregnant!

MeAndMyBoy · 28/02/2006 14:52

Hope the doc's go well tomorrow, HC I'm sure it will all be fine, we'll all be here routing for you.

AussieinLondon · 28/02/2006 19:08
