Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Has anyone decided on names already? Or what names you all like?

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 11:39

iv decided kieran for a boy, and i like teegan for a girl but dp doesnt, will have to talk him round!!!

fatbetty · 28/03/2006 11:40

Haven't chosen any names - waiting for the scans I guess.

Did any of you see that programme last night about the woman who was pregnant for 46 years?

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 11:44

All of my names I had lined up ages ago DH thinks are awful!! I like Lily and Grace for a girl and Corben for a boy.

I think I have seen that program before, the baby had died and she didn't know, or didn't do anything about it????

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 11:47

oh was that last night??? i wanted to watch that!!!!

the hospital she was at told her she needed a cesarian but she was scared so ran back to her village and the pains just went away! no one realised until she had pains 46 years later and they removedthe corpse of the baby! scary!!!!

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 11:50

Yes it rings a bell. It is a bit yuk!

awayfromhome · 28/03/2006 11:51

I'm getting quite jealous of those of you whose clothes are getting tight - I have lost 2kg and my normal jeans are getting loose!! The doctor wasn't bothered and my scan on Friday was fine - the baby was measuring exactly for dates - so I guess I shouldn't be concerned. But I would really like to begin to look pregnant as well as be it!!

fatbetty · 28/03/2006 11:56

It was kind of interesting - but how could you just not do anything about it. Apparently she thought the baby went to sleep. And when they did remove the baby it had pretty much turned to stone. But having it removed in this day and age, she survived the surgery where she probably wouldn't have if she had the surgery 46 years ago.

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 11:59

LOL Awayfromhome, is this your first? I bet by the time you get to 7/8 months you have had enough of your bump and will be wondering why you ever wanted it in the first place!!

Must admit I never got like that, I loved my big fat belly!! LOL

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:01

She must have been very lucky to survive with it in her belly.

velcrobott · 28/03/2006 12:03

Is anyone struggling with sleep? I can't get to sleep and if I wake up and I struggle to get back to sleep.... I always sleep so easily and well :-(

mygirllolipop · 28/03/2006 12:05

As for maternity clothes I think ebay is good for bargains I got 2 pairs of trousers from there. I must admit I love over the bump trousers and would not entertain anything else. I find on or under the bump just fall down with the size of the bump! also re the button moving trousers they're ok but sometimes the vuttons dig in. I was thinking about getting tat belly belt thing which gives you more room in your trousers.

mygirllolipop · 28/03/2006 12:06

Oh and yes we have a few names in mind.

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:06

Yes, Velcrobot, I am shattered so am in bed by 9 most nights, then I don't get to sleep till stupid hours of the mornings and am awake again a couple of hours to go to the loo and then I can't go back off. Not sure if it is a PG thing or if it is just because my brain won't switch off, but even DS teacher commented on how tired I looked this morning Blush!

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 12:18

away from home, you wait your time will come soon, with my first i didnt show until about 4 months and i thought that was early, now im huge, gunna get bored of my maternity wardrobe quickly tho! lol

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:20

I think that is why I have gotten so big so quickly this time, I was out of my jeans by 8 weeks last time, and by 12 weeks was very visably pregnant, strange because one of my sisters who has had two children hardly got any bump at all, even at nine months you had to look at her the right way to see a bump!

awayfromhome · 28/03/2006 12:22

NatalieJane - nope it is my second, which is why I'm puzzled I'm not showing at all, as all my pregnant friends bellys seem to be popping out all over the place!!

Velcrobott - I am also struggling getting to sleep, even though I am tired when I go to bed.. I also keep waking up in the middle of the night and find myself lying there with my mind racing for well over an hour each time. In the morning I can barely open my eyes!!

joules1234 · 28/03/2006 12:22

Hello, Im new to Mumsnet, Im due on the 20th Nov with my 1st. I`m feeling awful, does anyone have a cure?

awayfromhome · 28/03/2006 12:26

NatalieJane - I too love the name Lily for a girl, but my DH is less than keen!!

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:28

Awayfromhome, I am sure you will get your bump soon, you can borrow some of mine for a couple of weeks if you want?!! Wink

Welcome Joules :), I think people advise to eat little and often, don't let yourself get hungry, and ginger (either biscuits or fresh) may help to settle your stomach, also travel sickness bands are said to help. If you are actually being sick a lot, see your doctor s/he will be able to give you some anti-sickness stuff that will help.

Good luck :)

awayfromhome · 28/03/2006 12:28

joules1234 - welcome and congratulations on your BFP. Can only suggest ginger tea if you are feeling sick it works for me!

NatalieJane · 28/03/2006 12:30

I know DH keeps saying it is fine for a baby, and an old lady but not in between! Also DH's name is Lee, so it's a bit like Lil' Lee (as in little Lee) which is a bit off putting! Still love the name though!!

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 12:32

welcome and congratulations joules!!

as said by someone else. dont let yourself get hungry its then you'll prob get sick. and your doc can help if its really bad. i never got told that in my first pg and wish i had as had severe morning sickness!!!

good luck, theres lots of people on here with lots of experience so you'r in good company!!!

staceym11 · 28/03/2006 12:33

my dp likes daisy, but my aunt has a puppy called daisy and i just cant see myself caling a baby it!

joules1234 · 28/03/2006 12:34

Thank you, Ive been nibbling on ginger biscuits, but thats about it, got no appetite, and lost 5 pounds in a week! I will see if I can get one of those bands, anything which can help! Congratulations to all other mums as well! My friend recommended this site, she had a baby in November.
