Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Evening ladies,

Laylaandsethsmum, thanks for the wishes, hope everything is good for you.

How are you doing? I've spent quite a bit of today feeling sick and it's starting again now, so heading off to bed very soon. Think it might have been the lack of food today, my banana just wasn't cutting it, might have to resort to chocolate tomorrow, but have to say i really don't fancy it at the moment Shock.

M2T I'm interested to hear about your doc's and what they do. I meant to say earlier, do you think you'll carry on with your plans to be a doula? it sounds really interesting.

AIL that's exciting news about you seeing an independant midwife tomorrow, you'll have to come and tell us all when they've gone.

HC fingers crossed for tomorrow and that it goes well for you.

well off to bed, night night

H x

MeAndMyBoy · 01/03/2006 12:38

So? how did it go? what happened?

HopingCat · 01/03/2006 13:32

Hope someone is there as I'm a bit worried. I took a sample to the GP surgery as requested, and the nurse checked it a couple of times. She then said she could not say I was pg as it took a full 4 minutes to get a line. I've been told to treat myself as if I am pg for now, but I need to take another sample in 2 days time for her to try again.

Does this mean I could potentially not be pg? Sad

MeAndMyBoy · 01/03/2006 13:57

Oh HC I'm so sorry that it hasn't given you the answer we were all hoping for for you. I really don't know what to think, but hopefully it's good that they are saying to treat yourself as pg. I have everything crossed for when you have to go back.

sending you {{hugs}} hun

Hi there,

I have been posting in Oct thread but may as well join in here too. Due Oct 27th or so Doc thinks, but my other 2 cooked for 2 weeks extra so no doubt it will be Nov with this one too.

Hopingcat - a positive is a positive isn't it - 4 mins isn't that long is it?

HopingCat · 01/03/2006 14:15

Loads of people on here have told me that a positive is a positive. I asked the nurse if there was a reason I'm getting a faint line (I tested a week ago and today, and both lines were faint) and she just said I've only just missed my period so can't be very pregnant yet. The reason I went to GP was to get my faint line confirmed, not to be told they also got a faint line!

Oh well, will just have to wait a few more days and try again.

cece · 01/03/2006 14:26

mine was faint at home and at docs, but she has still referred me for maternity services!

MeAndMyBoy · 01/03/2006 14:35

Hi Cece, congratulations and welcome to the thread :).

What combination of boys and girls do you have already?

H x

cece · 01/03/2006 14:38

HI
I have
dd who is nearly 5

ds how is 2.4

I am 39
live in west london

MeAndMyBoy · 01/03/2006 14:57

HC I don't think all pregnancy tests are as sensitive as each other and the doc's just use the same home pg tests that we use.

It might be that your cycle was a different length this month so you tested before your AF would have arrived which is why it's still faint at the doc's as it's only a couple of days after AF? (don't know I'm just thinking out loud).

Cece they sound lovely ages for a new sibling, and i guess they will both be a lot of help entertaining LO for you :) my ds is 2.7 and I am expecting huge jealous tantrums. Im in the midlands.

laughalot · 01/03/2006 15:41

meandmyboy im from the march thread chat ttc where are u from in the midlands ?

trace2 · 01/03/2006 16:29

gp usess, old tests not as good as the one you buy

cece · 01/03/2006 18:18

meandmyboy

dd was 2 and half when ds was born. she was quite helpful, except all his nappies were all used up om her toys lol!!

AussieinLondon · 01/03/2006 19:17

HC - I'm sure you must be pg - a line is a line. I think (and I am no expert) that some people have differing levels of the HCG hormone. When I first tested my line was barely visible and then when I did it again 2 days later was only marginally more visible. I know it's hard but try to hang on for a couple more days and test again.

I met an independent midwife today which was really good. Really reassured me that I am doing the right thing opting for a VBAC. My first baby was 10lb 1oz and the doctors at Chelsea and Westminster (where I had my c-section) said she was too big for me but I have always thought that is crap - I don't believe women produce babies that they can't deliver. I think my labour went on for too long (60 hours!) and I was knackered which is why I couldn't push. Anyway the independent midwife agreed with my theory and was pretty confident I would be fine this time around. Here's hoping.

Still not sure how I am going to manage with an 18 month old and a newborn though, but I guess we'll worry about that in November!!

Welcome Cece - I went over due date by nearly 2 weeks last time too. Frustrating isn't it???

spod · 01/03/2006 19:19

HC.. I'm having same problem with my feint line(s). I'm doing another test in the morning (my 4th!!). for some reason I can't belive a feint line!

spod · 01/03/2006 19:20

whats everyones due dates btw?

cece · 01/03/2006 19:21

aussiemum

ds was over 11 lbs and had him naturally so it can be done!

MeAndMyBoy · 01/03/2006 19:22

Evening ladies,

lol cece at dd using the nappies on her toys.

AIL sounds really positive which is fab, I'm glad you got on well with her.

HC hope you're doing ok.

I have to run sorry I should have left for my mums 25 mins ago now, and still haven't packed the car so need to dash, but just to say I'll be back on saturday, just so you don't think I've deserted or anything Wink.

Take care
H x

AussieinLondon · 01/03/2006 19:26

Spod - I'm Nov 6.

spod · 01/03/2006 19:28

well, if i am pregnant, (still debating feint lines) then due 10th, but will need a cs so it'll be a week earlier

cece · 01/03/2006 19:29

AIL -sorry got name wrong earlier.

due 27th Oct but will be late I'm sure!

Mummy2Toby · 01/03/2006 22:45

Evening everyone - well, I went ot he dr's today and as predicted, they didn't do anything! Just wrote a letter to send off to the hospital for my 12 weeks scan and one to the community midwives who will probably contact me at about 10-11 weeks. So the waiting game begins Smile

Hopingcat - I think that a line is a line and maybe you could be early stages of pg, so your hgc levels aren't really high yet, I am sure it will be fine Grin

AussieInLondon - It is great that you bonded with the midwife, I think that you should be able to have a VBAC and it will be sooo helpful for you to have a midwie with you who also believes that because she will work with you to ensure that is what you get Smile

CeCe - Welcome to the board - we are slowly increasing in numbers!

MeAndMyBoy - I think I will still go ahead with my plans to become a Doula, but will have to wait until after November now, it is something i would really like to do, have a nice weekend Smile

Oh, by the way the dr gave me a due date of 28th October (but I am sure it is November) That's enough from me - speak to you all later

awayfromhome · 02/03/2006 04:26

Hi, hopefully another joiner to the November club! I did a test yesterday and got a very faint line. I will be due around the 9th November.

HopingCat · 02/03/2006 09:07

Hi,

Welcome to awayfromhome, cece and spod. It feels like we are the 'faint line' club at the moment! Grin But a line is a line!

I'm being very restrained and not testing again today. Nurse has asked me to take another sample in tomorrow for her to test. It's my birthday tomorrow, Smile Smile so I'm hoping I get the best possible present in the world, a confirmed and official BFP!

mower · 02/03/2006 09:44

Morning everyone, can I join your club too? Did a test on Tuesday and had faint lines which got darker, but still refuse to belive I am really pregnant! If all pans out ok and due Nov 6th, from what I can make out. Am a bit nervous and slightly worried. DS will only be 13 months when new baby is born, and we live in a two bedroom flat up three flights of stairs. I'm sure we will find a way to cope!!

Anyone had any symptoms yet??

Was going to try the clearblue digital test today, the one that comes up with writing pregnant or not pregnant as am fed up of anylising lines!! Does anyone know if this is a good test??
