Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

Morning

She said on another thread that someone in rl is trying to identify her and she doesn't want identifying so she's had her messages deleted.

Hope everyones ok, welcome CattyB and congratulations #4 that is soooo fab. What combination of boys/girls do you have at the moment?

Not sure what everyone thinks, but I was thinking about putting together a stats thing showing us and some details about us and our pg's what do you think?

I will do a catch up post a bit later honest. I ended up deleting my post yesterday.

Stats thread is a great idea MAMB.

Not sure if everyone is into homeopathy but I find sepia really helpful for morning sickness. You can get it at Boots.

Hi, was wondering if I can nervously join?
Just done a First Response as not due on til 2moro but got a definate BFP! I'm due 13th Nov.
I've got 3DDs who are 7yo, 4yo and 11months. I'm still BFing so am at a slight risk of another MC (MC in June 04) but excited at the prospect of another.
Congrats those who are already on here.
Oh and I'm in the Midlands too.

mower · 05/03/2006 16:32

Congratulations mygirllollipop, I wish you good luck. Is that true then that you are at higher risk of miscarrage if you are breastfeeding?

I am still breastfeeding my 5 month ds, found out i am pregnant last tuesday, have had slight bleeding and am worried I am going to miscarry, have a scan tomorrow.

Have not heard that breastfeeding increases your chance of miscarrage.

CattyB · 05/03/2006 18:25

Hiya,

Thanks for letting me join in. Hope you are all well?
Fine here if ever so slightly knackered and a bit neauseous.

I BF all through my second pg and even tandem fed for a while as my eldest son was only 19m when his brother was born. I'm still BF as well and definetly haven't heard anything that suggests that doing so could lead to MC. I don't believe nature would be so cruel or that humans would still be in existence if it did! Hope things settle down x Inplantation bleeds are pretty common - hope that is all it is.

Take care.

mygirllolipop · 05/03/2006 19:00

Wow three of us all BF now and PG too. I read in on a link in another thread, will look it up. Was some research prob done by somebody who didn't know what they were talking about. I really didn't mean to worry anyone, sorry if I did. Not making a good start for myself am I?

mygirllolipop · 05/03/2006 19:04

I think it was \link{http://mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1364&threadid=122429#2616994\this thread} but can't find a link, maybe it was in someones post, again sorry if I've upset anyone

MeAndMyBoy · 05/03/2006 20:01

Hi Mygirllolipop, Congratulations and welcome. I appologise now I am going to get your name wrong, my fingers don't type as well as my brain thinks!

Where in the midlands are you, I'm in Snowy Cov.

mower · 05/03/2006 20:44

mylollipopgirl, don't worry you didn't worry me, I was just interested. Am feeling very positive meaning what will be will be in my case. Am going for scan tomorrow to check all is well.

Mummy2Toby · 05/03/2006 22:38

Hiya everyone,
Sorry I haven't been on for a while - sooo tired, I don't remember being this tired with ds, but then I didn't have a 15mth old to run around after then!
Still no real syptoms for me - do feel a bit sick sometimes and I am very tearful - I cried watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition today Blush
Welcome to all the newcomers - it is great that we are getting bigger in all senses of the wordGrin
MeAndMyBoy - stats list is a good idea.
Take Care all xxx

Hi,

Welcome to the newcomers.

Quick update from me. I took sample to GP on Friday as asked, and rang back at lunchtime for result. Was told they'd been too busy to do it so I should ring back later. I rang back later and was told they couldn't find any record of it and the nurse had gone home. So I've now been to GP twice and got no result twice. I'm not impressed! Receptionist suggested I take in another sample today, but I didn't bother. I'm going to ring later and get them to tell me what happened to Friday's sample. Can't believe they could lose something that is so important to one of their patients! Will let you know what happens.

MeAndMyBoy · 06/03/2006 09:05

Oh Hoping Cat that really is bad, I hope that they can explain what happened for you and that you get an answer today.

mygirllolipop · 06/03/2006 09:07

Morning,
MeAndMyBoy - Thanks for the congrats, I'm in Telford but it's not snowy now! It's no prob on the name score I'm sure I'll get thins wrong too!

And thanks Catty for reassuring us about BF all thru a pg, it is very reassuring and I have heard (on here) of loads of ppl who've BF thru a pg and tandem fed so that research is prob a load of crap.

Mower - I was so worried that I had concerned you. I think I'll shut my mouth from now on Grin! I am feeling positive in general but I'm still concinved af is going to show up if that makes sense. I'm going to ring the Dr later cos I'll have to be seen at the endocrine ante-natal clinc for bloods straight away with having the hypothyroidism.

Mummy2Toby - sorry you are already feeling symptoms I think I'm imagining some! thanks for the welcome much appreciated. Starting to feel real altho I can't stop looking at the tests!

HopingCat · 06/03/2006 14:21

Hi ladies,

I finally managed to speak to the nurse at my GP surgery and she has confirmed that I am pregnant! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

She didn't say what I should do next. Anyone got any suggestions? Should I make an appointment to see GP?

AussieinLondon · 06/03/2006 14:31

Fantastic news HopingCat!!! Yes - book into see GP and he/she will get the ball rolling with booking you in for scans etc.

HopingCat · 06/03/2006 14:38

Have just booked an appointment with GP for Friday. I'll be almost 6 weeks pg by then so hopefully it won't be too long before I get to see midwife etc.

I'm getting really excited now!!!!

mygirllolipop · 06/03/2006 16:03

Good news HC, good that you've got an apointment so soon. You should get seen by a midwife straight away. I'm not ringin my Dr for an apt til 2moro cos I feel like it's temtimg fate a bit if I do it today cos I still can't believe I'm pg and keep thinking it's af day 2day!
I feel more hungry already, how is everyone else?

HopingCat · 06/03/2006 16:19

I still have very few symptoms. Tender boobs and heartburn sometimes, but nothing obvious like sickness or tiredness. Last week I felt like af was about to start, but now I'm in week 5 I feel quite normal again. Did get emotional yesterday, but that doesn't mean much with me as I cry at all sorts! I'm lucky really, a lot of people start suffering really early with sickness and other things.

cece · 06/03/2006 16:30

I think different areas must differ as I am not seeing a midwife till last week in April when I am about 13 weeks.

CattyB · 06/03/2006 17:44

Hi all!

Having trained as a midwife in the dim and distant days BC I was really put off by the whole medicalisation of pregnancy and childbirth (in Edinburgh) hence I never practiced. I also stayed at home to have all mine as I said before. I know drs have their place and are sometime necessary but got to say I avoid them at all costs (unless they are young and attractive Wink). I have never had any dating scans - but did have a scan just before my last baby was born 16 days over. I reckon that if you know theres a baby in there, are certain of your dates and you wouldn't do anything if problems were found then there's not alot of point - but thats just me.
Was planning to go and see the Midwife in the next few weeks or so as I'm not in any rush - what about everyone else?

Hugs for now esp if your feeling emotional x

MeAndMyBoy · 06/03/2006 21:47

Evening all, sorry this is going to be short I'm knackered (DS & DH up at 5.30am) and my evening sickness is starting to kick in.

I'll get a stats thing sorted out and post it in the next couple of days.

HC I am sooo pleased that the doc's finally got their act together for you. See a line is a line Wink.

CattyB with you on leaving the doc's out as long as possible, I'll be going to the docs when I am about 10/11 weeks - they won't do anything before then so not much point really. I will have to have a hospital birth though as had a massive PPH last time involving blood transfusions, so no hope of a home birth - though I am going to see what the chances of a water birth are.

Take care all and speak to you tomorrow.

Hello everyone,

HC - that's great news, it must be good to know for definite. But round here, I won't see a midwife for ages - got a scan and a consultant before that, apparently.

I don't have much in the way of symptoms either, other than a bust which is testing the limits of some of my tighter tops (I started out as a FF cup, so I'm really not looking forward to this bit) and the ability to go to bed 2 hours earlier than normal. Is anyone feeling sick yet?

But I don't think I'm really going to believe I'm pregnant for a while, it definitely doesn't seem real yet!

mygirllolipop · 07/03/2006 10:46

Morning everyone,
gosh I have started the sick feeling I can't beleive it (maybe I am imagining it?). I also feel really hungry but that might be because I'm BF'ing DD3 as well as being PG.
I'm going to leave ringing Dr's til the end of the wk. But am going to buy a baby mag today as I want a comprehensive list of thing to buy for a baby. We don't need much of it, all we can think of is a bed for DD3 so DB4 can have the cot, a chest of drawers for DB4's clothes and a double pushchair. Am I thinking of these thngs too early? I just want to know how much I have to save. We have everything else including reusable nappies and DB will be BF so that's gonna save a small fortune.

pinkmagic1 · 07/03/2006 14:21

Havn't been on here since before the weekend as been busy and the cronic tiredness is starting to kick in like when I was exspecting DS. My doctor confirmed the pregnancy yesterday. Despite 2 positive tests it just didn't sink in until I heard it from the doctors mouth and I am now really excited. My booking in appointment is on 4th April.
