Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
YellowWellies · 28/03/2012 13:50

Got a scan sorted for Friday.... erk.... hope to see some change, and maybe even a heartbeat otherwise I really am off to buy one of those feck off big boxes of wine from Mr Tescos on the way home from the hospital :(

horseylady · 28/03/2012 14:24

Scan booked 19th April so prob day after funeral and day before we go away. Asked about the nt said no to it just wanted the date. They notice anything major and I wouldn't do anything withe risk factors but worry? So what's the point? Other than that she said how I was feeling is perfectly fine took bloods, urine and bp gave me lots to read but no bounty pack :( they've run out lol

funthatisfunny · 28/03/2012 14:42

welcome madeinchinababy! How come you had an early scan, hope all is ok with you. i have a DS who is 2.3! keeps me running around in this pregnancy :)

Blimey essex hard to know what to say. basically with me when they thought I might miscarry I was just told to go home, no advice re: bedrest, and wait and see. then when they thought I might have an ectopic it was all systems go and I was into EPAU that night for an examination and finally sent home with a 'probably not but let's wait and see' and have a scan next week. Still no bedrest. (am fine though I feel anyway). My friend had serious bleeding at 20 odd weeks and then she was told to go on total bedrest... was massive bleeding though. (all was, and is, fine! just one of those things). Just do whatever your heart says, you'll be fine.

gosh what a story for your sis YW. Amazing stuff. My DS had to have an op at 10 days old and I thought i was going to die with stress and worry; what premmie parents have to go through I just cannot begin to imagine. I like your back up plan with the box of wine. I am sure everything is ok though :)

I am eating DS's easter egg to placate my ever-present hormonal anger. bad mommy.

funthatisfunny · 28/03/2012 14:43

horsey did you just have your booking in then?

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 14:58

Just got my booking in appointment date - 2wks tomorrow Grin Very happy as its a) during the hols, so no time off work & b) at 8wks & earlier than I expected Grin

Afternoon MadeInChinaBaby welcome aboard, hope you have a good time. I am feeling totally different with this one (my DD is 23mo) but WORSE this time. :( My DD is a little sweetheart, smiling, full of beans all the time, eats well, sleeps pretty well & I had a lovely, easy, smooth pregnancy with her. I am terrified this one will be the opposite on every level.

Essex I would go into work & avoid strenuous activity, but otherwise, I would carry on as normal if I were you, but only you knows what feels 'right'.

YW I can't imagine how it must be to watch your sister/niece go through that, but I have met so many babies that have come into the world a little earlier than expected, but the vast majority are fine & dandy (one at 24+5!!). There's no rhyme or reason to it, & no reason why you should be any more likely than the rest of us to have to endure this. Good luck with the scan.

funthatisfunny · 28/03/2012 15:20

oh, made yes, I am feel completely the opposite with this one! With DS I always felt pregnant but in a blooming lovely and relaxed way, craved meat and sweets and ate, ate, ate. This time I feel anxious and tired, some days have no symptoms at all then they seem to pile up on one day (like today, bleugh) have felt sicky and don't really like food much. Bit more of a rollercoaster!

Oh ChCh are you really worried? I am too! My DS sounds like your DD, he is so gentle and kind and just so smily and happy and gorgeous! And my pregnancy with him always felt that way too (so much so I rather sexistly (!) thought he was a girl!) but this one feels so much more up and down so am worried I am pregnant with a stroppy little thing (like me lol)! Eek! :)

YellowWellies · 28/03/2012 15:39

Essex just a thought if you do go for your massage - might be worth mentioning your pregnancy to the masseuse on the QT as some essentials oils can cause spontaneous abortions - the carrier oils they use are fine though. Fun good for you for 'saving DS's teeth' - wish I had easter egg in the house, though have just eaten half a tub of ice cream and feel well sick....

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 15:56

funthatisfunny I really think we used up all our luck this month (new job for DH, new house & new baby) so I figure I've got to pay it back somewhere!!! Hmm

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 16:11

My boobs don't hurt at all. I was just flinging them around in the shower to make them hurt and they don't. 8 weeks on Friday, is this normal??

pipsicles · 28/03/2012 16:13

Wow, YW that must have been a difficult time for your family! My friend had her DD at 28 weeks and now she is just as cheeky and fun loving as the rest of the babies in our group and apart from the fact that she is very petite, you'd hardly know at all! Like ChCh said though, there's no reason why it should happen to you at all!

ChCh I too have my booking appt in the holidays - next Tuesday in fact when I'll be 8+6, and then I have my scan on 25th April, which happens to be one of my days off - very convenient! I'm still trying not to get too excited just yet (no idea why I'm so cautious this time around!), but then I realised that I'm already 2/3 of the way through my 1st trimester and in only 2 weeks, I'll be 1/4 the way through the whole pg! I vowed after having DS that I wouldn't wish away my next pg (esp as, if DH gets his own way then this will be my last - I will win, surely?!), but when you spend a third of it wishing away the weeks until you're 'safe' it's hardly surprising it feels like it flies by!

Right now, it is sunny, I'm sat by the canal, DS is sleeping and I am enjoying the fact that I'm pregnant! (I love to say that word and haven't done it enough recently!) sorry to steal the mantra, but it's a great one!

pipsicles · 28/03/2012 16:18

Foof, mine have hardly hurt at all - apart from this morning when I was lying on my side and DS decided to squish boob to help him sit up, but that would probably have hurt anyway! I wouldn't worry if you're still feeling other symptoms.

On that theme, are others with subsequent pgs with small age gaps finding boobs are less painful? I've been wondering if mother nature is being kind and making them not hurt as our DCs do enough of that anyway without any further assistance?!

EssexWelsh · 28/03/2012 16:32

Went for massage, told the masseuse, so didn't have hot stone just a 'gentle rub' bought lots of cherry tomatoes foof you got me addicted and other fruit and lying in sun with a mag, so I feel totally relaxed and my body is saying it's all ok, at least I can avoid some cleaning and the gym for a while Grin

Bryzoan · 28/03/2012 16:39

Best wishes for your dad today bimble. Good to hear things are good so far with you and you are not in too much pain. Will have my fingers crossed for you for your scan next week. We have one next week too to rule out another ectopic.

Can sympathise with those of you nervous about prem babies too - my dd was popped out before she was quite ready too (she is 21 months now and gorgeous, if still a bit of a pickle) - and we had to stay a month in Nicu. Definitely hoping not to have a repeat performance. Still feeling good (in a sick and knackered kind of way) so far so fingers crossed!

I wanted loads of sweet food last time - and am want savouries this time - also am feeling more nauseous - weird how different it can be. Have my booking in appt this week - think the midwife is nearly as keen as I am that this one cooks properly, which has to be a good thing.

Enjoy the sun all.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/03/2012 16:45

Have had a v tiring day in the sun with ds. Feel v sleepy now and have had sickness on and off.

blonderthanred · 28/03/2012 17:08

Well I had my scan and it's good news! One little heartbeat going strong, gynaecologist happy with how it all looked. He re-dated us at 7+6, which takes me back to my original EDD of 8th Nov (other doc said 5/6th).

They had to do a dildo cam as my bladder wasn't full (bloody felt full) and we saw everything nice and clearly. Doc said it was the first good news they'd had all day which choked me up. Pretty choked anyway.

Love & hormones to all...

Little9 · 28/03/2012 17:13

Well, discharge better today although don't feel so tired. Have been raging at everyone at work though Blush. Boobs still sore and have had the most painful cramp in my left buttock - what's that about?

Ate nearly a whole pack of party rings today!!! Now feel a bit Envy.

Off to doggy training now, so will catch up tomorrow. Only one more day before scan, arrrrgh!!! Liking the back up plan YW - will use that one myself on Friday night if not good news!!!!

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 17:14

Great news blonder :)

horseylady · 28/03/2012 17:23

Yes fun booking appointment was quite interesting really.

WaitingForMe · 28/03/2012 17:43

I'm sorry but... you were flinging your boobs around FoofFighter?

How does one do that exactly? Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/03/2012 17:47

Yes I'd like to know too, I can barely pinch an inch on mine let alone fling them around!

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 18:05

G cups Blush

I was just making dinner and leant down on the worktop a little (bad back) for a stretch and pinged right back up as it pressed them and they were ouchy again, never been so glad!

Feel like a tit for panicking now (pun intended!!)

Blonder, that's fantastic news :)

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 18:05
Envy

That is all.

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 18:37

Have bought the first bit of baby paraphernalia - a new playmat. Love the one DD has, but she uses it to sit on still (without the arches) & this one was 2nd hand & going cheap :)

Evilwater · 28/03/2012 18:43

Hello everyone!
I've been very unwell, I've been coughing up lots of green goo as well as sneezing, and my nose has been dripping like a tap.
I've manged to clear most of it from my chest, but I feel very tired.

I didn't know that my baby gets my immune system, and get a crappy one. I just hope baby is still there and well. I'm 11 weeks this week so I get my scan next week. My fingers are crossed.

I hope very one is well Espally izzy.
Ew

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 18:44

ooooh chch I think that would make you the first person to have bought something then??

MIL bought some booties and scratch mitts yesterday Grin

Is Envy for g cups? you can have them!!
