yellowwellies good luck at the doctor's, hope they can get you some reassurance.

I just received my dating scan appt through the post, 11th May, which feels like an eternity away. I will be 12 weeks by then, can't imagine that at all, let alone any further along, eeek!

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 10:48

Oh horsey I am sorry, I hope she was comfortable and peaceful at the end x thinking of you and your DH Thanks

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/03/2012 10:53

misslaughalot wow you've got your scan date through already? I havent even had my bookng in appt yet!

misslaughalot · 28/03/2012 10:56

Nor me DH, it's on Monday. I had to see my GP last week to be referred to a MW though, so I guess the process started then.

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 10:58

I've just had appointment in post for Obstetrics Antenatal - no mention of a scan or to drink loads etc though? Or is this it? I'm not due to be referred to consultant or anything?

funthatisfunny · 28/03/2012 10:59

good luck with the docs YW

I will join the FB group when I am not so paranoid :) Today is nice and symptomy though which is reassuring after my three days off! I have had the Rage all morning but am back at work which is lovely. I just want to work, on my own, and be left in peace.

Am also off ALL food in the whole world today. Managed some white toast. My Thai treat last night wasn't so great in the end, it just didn't 'look right' to my pregnant eyes and was too bitty to my pregnant tastebuds. So I ate a bit but would have much preferred a skanky maccy dees in the end!

Aw wedding day gsyautumn, exciting! I have a weedding to go to that weekend and am all worried as I will be about 12 weeks and I just don't know how much I will/won't be showing. I will be able to tell people then though thank goodness because it will be very commented on when I am all sober!

My bloat has gone down today, hurray! And I have my lovely fringe back to cover my skanky spots twice hurray!

EssexWelsh · 28/03/2012 11:00

Sorry horsey, hope you are DP are doing well.

DH I'm also v cautious joining FB, what if it isn't private?? I'm a teacher and can't risk staff or even students searching for me and finding me in there!!

I'm on strike today, due to pensions, so obviously would March if not up the duff, so instead I'm striking by sitting in the garden, now getting my nails done, first doctor's appointment (other than scare) then a massage, bloody lovely! Anyone else got anything nice planned today?

funthatisfunny · 28/03/2012 11:00

x post. So sorry to hear about your MIL horsey. hope you ok.

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 11:03

EW you can join in the name of Essex Welsh, you absolutely do not have to give your name if you don't want to :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/03/2012 11:14

EW it's 100% secret. It won't show up that you've joined at all. You can add me if you like and I'll invite you to the group.

horseylady · 28/03/2012 11:31

Dh 21 I can't find it and not sure how I pm you?

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/03/2012 11:32

Just had my booking in appointment through for the 30th April. I'm glad as it's starting to feel more official! No sign of date for 12 wk scan. I'm going away on 5th May for a week so no doubt it will be booked for that week and I'll have to rearrange it. I really hope they can squeeze it in before I go but we'll see.

horseylady very sorry to read about your mil. My father passed away whilst I was pregnant with DD and I never got to share the news with him. It's a hard time to lose somebody (it's never easy I know!) but somehow knowing I had a life growing inside me gave me something else to focus on to ease the pain. I hope you and your DH are ok x

yellowwellies Keep up the positive thoughts. Loving the back up plan Smile All the very best for your drs appointment.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/03/2012 11:37

horsey at the top of the page there's an inbox, go in there and go on 'new message' to send it to me.

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 11:38

Or click message poster on the blue bar with their name on it in posts on this thread :)

Bimbledorf · 28/03/2012 12:15

HI everyone,

Sorry to hear about your MIL horsey A horrible thing to go through for all concerned.

Hope the doctors goes well for you too Yellow Be thinking of you.

I saw an absolutely lovely doctor yesterday and I am booked in for a scan to rule out ectopic early next week. The first available appointment!! That's what you get living in Birmingham (well just outside actually) Obvioulsy if the pain becomes unbearable I will go to A & E. The pain is still there, but still bearable, the brown discharge is still minimal.

My dad is having his Angioplasty today. I can't believe what amazing care he has had since his heart attacks last week. We are so fortunate to have the NHS - I really believe that. He's in good spirits about it and it seems a whole bunch of his mates have come forward to say they have also had it and it's given them a new lease of life. Thanks (was it apple) for sharing your experience too, it is really helpful. The words heart attack are so shocking, but it doesn't have to be serious.

Thanks everyone for your kind words too.

Ooh Facebook...man I procrastinate enough, I don't need any more excuses! Prob PM you after the scan though DH if all is well.

Sunshine!! :o

YellowWellies · 28/03/2012 12:33

Awww really sorry to hear about your MIL horsey condolences to you and yours. I hope it was peaceful in the end.

Well it took the doc three attempts to get the sodding speculum in - but my cervix is closed, and because she could see I was worried - I'll be getting another trip to the hospital to see if the bean has grown since last trip via a dildocam session (honestly I really don't have a thing about dildocam!!!!) either today or tomorrow - gotta love the quiet maternity unit up here.

Am now going to be paranoid that I'll have a pregnancy like my sisters and end up with a premmie!!! Still on for sauvignon blanc and some fags if it goes Pete Tong (ahhhh the sad reward mechanisms of an addict / classy bird)

YellowWellies · 28/03/2012 12:40

Bimble - good luck for next week my dear! Fingers crossed all is good news x

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 12:57

What happened with your sister's pregnancy YW?

Bimble really hope all will be well with you x

superpenguin · 28/03/2012 12:59

got my booking in appt with midwife for 17th april, it seems like ages away!

essex i'm also having a massage later today and just had my hair done, luxury!

EssexWelsh · 28/03/2012 13:02

Just seen the doctor and he has me totally worried! He said that as I still have brown discharge I should be totally resting, no work, no massage, no driving-in case I crash!! Literally no exertion, no lifting, bending or twisting, only walking around the garden is the most I can do. He said if it was his wife he would not be letting her do anything-DP I'm sure still doubts me and just thinks I'm being lazy, which upsets me more. Anyone else had similar advice, I still want to go to massage today to relax, he said it should be fine but what if I have a bump en route, or have pains or bleed and am on interview panel in work tomo, so no teaching and really want to be there!, so don't want to take time off I would feel so responsible if anything happened, yet don't feel like I need to put my life on hold, what should I do???

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 13:11

I would follow his advice Essex as it seems as if he really considers an ectopic is a possibility & you really don't want to cause internal bleeding . Worrying obviously but not for much longer until the scan, plus school holidays soon.

My condolences horsey but at least she is at peace now x

Very jealous about everyone getting their appointment dates through... I only saw the GP late on Friday so am sure it will take FOREVER to get an appointment for either a scan or to MW especially given the apparent lack of MWs he warned me about. I worry that I'll be 13+wks before I see anyone now & I'll see everyone on here getting their scans, & I'll still be waiting...

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 13:20

Sorry Essex was mistaken about who was getting a scan... Did he explain why it was an issue & refer you to the EPU? I got you confused with Bimble I think... Are you having pain? If it is an ectopic concern, then you need a scan ASAP, if its just because you might miscarry, I would say get on with life. If you're going to mc, its prob going to happen anyway &, as you say, life goes on. A bit irresponsible of the GP to worry you without explaining things properly!!!

EssexWelsh · 28/03/2012 13:27

No pain at all, went to EPAU on Sat night and the main doctor there was satisfied my cervix was closed and just told me not to exercise or life heavy weights and have been fine all week just with the slight brown discharge. Doctor today said I should be basically bed bound only getting up to eat at table or go toilet or walk around garden. Just seems a bit extreme when I feel fine, no pain, no red blood, but of course will do that if totally necessary, but unsure if GP being overly cautious, only a day and a half left in work then 2 weeks off and only risk today is if I crash my car on way to salon today, think massage would do me good, my shoulders are tensed beyond belief! But ad I say, don't want to do anything to risk the bean, but do I take a GPs advice over online forums and the EPAU doctor??

MadeInChinaBaby · 28/03/2012 13:29

Hello! Room for a latecomer?

Stats:
MadeInChinaBaby, 29, DC2, EDD 18th November.

I had my first scan yesterday. I had thought I was about 10 days further along and so am going back next week to measure the growth within a week and double-check the dates. Everything feels totally different with this little bean than with DS, who's now 2.4. With DS, I had chronic morning sickness and 'felt' pregnant every minute of every day. Now I forget the new one's even there as I just feel normal (and because I'm so distracted by my toddler!). Anyone else feel this different with second or later pregnancies?

YellowWellies · 28/03/2012 13:49

Essex my Doc was very much of the view that if you are going to MC there's very little you can do to avoid it (bar going on a drunken binge or scuba diving!), I've been having a similar discharge, some pain and even clots last night but my Doctor didn't advise bed rest. I guess do what feels comfy for you. I'm taking it easy but definitely not bed rest to be honest I can't as I'm on my own for the week (DH is overseas) and dinner isn't going to cook itself- also we have solid fuel central heating I do have to do some heavy lifting when the coal scuttle needs filling, which isn't ideal but is unavoidable unless I want to be cold (we lost the gorgeous sunshine this morning, boooo!)

Foof my sister had her daughter at 27+3 no real reason she just went into labour three months early - her daughter weighed in at a teensy 2lb - but is now 7 months old and home from the NICU and is really the loveliest, happiest, toughest most smiley wee girl I've ever met. She's still small at nearly 7 months old she's only 11lb but my sis has done amazingly - even managed to BF her once she was off the feeding tube - hence she's not packing on the pounds as much as a formula baby perhaps would have, but my sis felt after not being able to carry her to term she wanted to give her the best nutritional start. She expressed for 2 months before her daughter was able to latch on and feed for herself. She'll have some health problems (potentially she seems to be unable to retain zinc in her body and has to be on meds for this) and had a hell of a battle to get here but she's done amazingly. It was awful to go through as a relative outsider, not sure how on earth I could cope if such a traumatic experience was my introduction to motherhood. I'm biased but I think my wee niece is about the most lovely little girl I've ever met.
