Horsey Deepest sympathy to both you and your DH. Take comfort in knowing your MIL is no longer suffering. I'm glad for you it was quick in the end Thanks

Blonder That is excellent news! These November babies are determined to make an entry!

I've had an utterly terrible (well, I suppose not in the grand scheme of things!) day, got new medication - which has possibly made me feel worse! I had to go to the shops for a few things, and I was dry heaving all the way round, lethargic and felt like curling up in a ball on the floor. Eventually made it home, and curled up on the sofa, and slept for 5 hours til 7pm!! I'm feeling slightly better for the sleep, but everything is making me heave. How I haven't actually vomited, I am not sure. Mind over matter maybe?!

I would just like to hibernate for the next few weeks - thank you.

Oh, and for the hurty boob brigade, mine only hurt when I take my bra off, then they hurt like crazy! Poking them doesn't make them hurt! DP looked at me when he got home before, and his first words were 'fuck look at your boobs, omg' to which I promptly growled 'get the fuck away'. There is a lot of fuck words going on in our house tonight! See he could touch - but then there would be the inevitable removal of bra, which just isn't happening!

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 20:58

hmmm prayings not my bag, but whatever gets you through.

Glad you are staying EW you can be our advance warning of what we have to come ;)

Away to watch OBEM, not had a great evening with OH so logging off, see you all tomorrow, if by any chance this thread gets to about 980 posts, can someone make a new thread and post the link here? I beg of you no stupid rhyming puntastic thread name though!!

misslaughalot · 28/03/2012 21:02

I'm also watching The Apprentice, love it!

NervousAt20 · 28/03/2012 21:22

Oh detective I can sooo relate to the boob problem. You can look but touch and I might just rip your hand off Blush

blonderthanred · 28/03/2012 21:27

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm so with everyone on the breast front... Poor DH.

Sorry to hear about the continuing sickness. I am only having it mildly and that's bad enough, so sending much sympathy.

Chunkychicken · 28/03/2012 21:43

TheDetective I am dry heaving all day long but no vomiting so figure there is nothing to be done, just put up and moan a LOT shut up :(

WaitingForMe · 28/03/2012 22:19

I'm in the sore boob camp. Bought some cheap undies from Peacocks (I'm usually Knickerbox sets all the way) today and I've gone up two cup sizes!

Oh but I still fit into the size 8 dress I'm wearing to my brothers Birthday do at the weekend.

Shame DH doesn't look more like Ken Wink

TheDetective · 28/03/2012 22:33

Feeling much better now. Thank fuck Grin. DP has made me eton mess. Baby likes!

I have a feeling I will be up late tonight...sighhhhh.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/03/2012 07:31

I feel v sick this morning, also have a headache and am v tired.
I forced myself to stay up til 10 last night night to watch a film but I was so tired by the end of it my eyes were bloodshot. Then ds was up in the night and I woke at 6 needing a wee.
I woke up with a headache because I obv didn't get enough/ v good sleep. I find the more tired I am the more sick I feel :(

FoofFighter · 29/03/2012 08:07

4 x pee in the night Angry

Thechick · 29/03/2012 09:01

Hey all. It looks like in the couple of days I haven't been on here there's been lots going on. Hope everyone is managing. Looks like there's not that many people having a good time at the mo. Thank you all once again for all the support you gave at the start of this week. It was very needed. I'm still spotting a bit. It's brown not red which is good but I'm still worried, just want it to stop. I have a doctor calling me this morning, hopefully she can reasure me. My boobs are starting to kick in, it's getting steadily worse every night when I take off my bra and I'm off my food and feel a bit queasy when I eat in the morning. And the dreams, I've been having crazy dreams and getting up every two hours at night to use the toilet. It's all fun fun fun, but not at all as bad as some of you.

horseylady · 29/03/2012 09:12

Detective it really wasn't quick or pain free sadly but I'm pleased she's no longer suffering and that there's no longer a vigil at her bedside. Totally with everyone on the boobs and dry heaving really not good! Has anyone done the nct courses?

FoofFighter · 29/03/2012 09:25

Nope, not even sure we have an NCT presence up here actually. I've enquired about ante-natal classes but they are only on offer for first time parents - never mind that it was 18 years ago for me and first time for OH!!
I may ask if we can tag along on the hospital tour though as OH is very nervous of them and I think it would help him a little.

thechick, glad it's not just me getting up in the night for peeing, nothing we can do either as it's not at all related to how much you drink apparently! Our kidneys are working overtime and this is the result.

blonderthanred · 29/03/2012 09:29

Chick, it sounds promising that your symptoms are getting stronger, the doc I saw yesterday said spotting was nothing to worry about although I know it's impossible not to torture yourself with worry. All the best to you.

nutellaontoast · 29/03/2012 09:52

Hello all! Have been away, Ma and Pa were over for a visit (Dad: "I don't know why you're eating salad, it has no nutritional value." & "You're using the gears wrong, you should be in the lowest gear possible for more power")

MIL has very kindly bought a vintage Silver Cross pram. I mean, we mostly used a sling for bubba one and it's the size of a smart car but both grannys were so keen on it I was weak and couldn't say no. Mildly concerned we'll be the weirdos around town with the ancient pram... Le sigh. She seems convinced I'll do as she did and park it in the garden with bubs in. Probably lying on his/her (another piece of general advice from bub 1, ignored).... oh ye gods I had nearly forgotten how babies and pregnant ladies bring out the bossy side in everyone.

Tell me having an old Silver Cross pram is cool people. Go on.

FoofFighter · 29/03/2012 10:03

oh it is! I saw someone with one in town on Monday, 1yo ish baby lovely and comfy and reclined, legs stretched out, one of those sun canopy things on, was lovely :)

I had a soft bodied Silvercross green tartan pram for my son and the seat on top for DD :) loved it to pieces.

GsyAutumn · 29/03/2012 10:08

I'm the weirdo around town anyway....My LIFE is all about vintage and quirkiness (I pity my new baby already actually). I would completely love an old silver cross, might have to twist my mum's arm to dig out the one she has still kept from when I was a baby! (She did use it with my first 2, to be fair). I think that nothing beats being a bit different - that is what defines cool after all :)

I'm suffering with DPs bossiness - and as a result he is feeling the sharp end of my tongue almost all the time. He is being super-protective, and I am getting so frustrated that I almost had him packing his bags last night.

FoofFighter · 29/03/2012 10:21

GsyA I LOVE quirky vintage people/things :)

Just found what should have been an excellent resource in my area, forum and website and facebook page connected to the local breastfeeding group - but nobody has used it in over a year Sad they still have weekly coffee morning so about a month before edd I'll start going there I think.

was very surprised at the breastfeeding rates for my area, it's (allegedly) at around 70%? That must be WAYYY over the national average? I rarely see anyone breastfeeding round and about. I think only one of my mum friends up here breastfed too.

Chunkychicken · 29/03/2012 10:22

Didn't do the NCT classes first time around because they seemed so bloody expensive!!! ~£400 seemed (& still does) a bit pricey for 10 classes and we were offered the 3x free classes at the local hospital, although these were bloody useless. Well, for us, I guess for some, they might have been interesting, but didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. At least I'll have a better idea of my pain threshold etc this time & know more about breathing through it or using the gas & air properly - things you just can't plan for with your first.

Feeling a bit brighter today with a tad more energy but more sick feeling so can't win em all!!!

Thechick · 29/03/2012 10:25

I just spoke to the doctor and she basically said i need to wait it out. I was kind of expecting that, but it would have lovely if she said its all fine and you will def have a beautiful baby in 7 and a half months time (Yes I am in cloud coocooland)!! No Foof its not just you, but the thing is I only drink water at work. So don't have anything to drink after about 4, but I'm still peeing for England. Blonder yes, I think I've been quite lucky up until now. Feel really really sick today. Blah

Chunkychicken · 29/03/2012 10:25

Think a high number of my friends breastfed if they could - the ones that didn't had premmies or traumatic births so couldn't rather than chose not to, iyswim. I guess that could be to do with the social sector I'm in, and the type of friends I have, rather than the area - if you went to the local sure start centre, it'd prob be the other way around. Will def do it this time again.

FoofFighter · 29/03/2012 10:32

See this is what surprised me as where I live could easily be classed as typical MN land, pretty affluent, low unempoyment all of that kind of stuff.

thechick, drinking or not won't have any effect I have read so if you are purposely restricting after 4pm then don't bother!

GsyAutumn · 29/03/2012 10:34

Off to represent the company I work for at a careers convention in a few minutes. MS seems to be getting earlier and earlier and have been feeling pants for the past hour. Must grin and bear it and try to breathe through my nose lol. Hopefully there is a toilet within running distance of our stand!

Thechick · 29/03/2012 10:35

I was part of an NCT group 13 years ago with my first. I found it really really helpful. It was really good to know that my child was normal when he cried or didn't cry, but there wasn't really anything like mumnset back then, but it was also really great for getting out of the house. I didn't have to pay anything. I think I called up for information about something and they just put me in touch with other people in my area, but I don't know if that still happens without paying anything.

horseylady · 29/03/2012 10:39

Mmmm the one here is 165 for 10 classes I didn't think it was too bad really? I might speak to them the mw said they were useful. They also do yoga too!! Feeling quite excited about it all today lol
