Good luck mobee, mia, sho and belini!

Ooh, here will be lots of birth announcements on here at the weekend hopefully! :)

Amd congrats cakes - well done! Leo's a lovely name.

Still no news here apart from the odd twinge. Not holding out hopes that he'll get here by his due date on Sunday. Will have a curry tonight to try and get things moving though!

Happy Friday everyone! xx

ParsleyLion1 · 13/01/2012 12:01

Is it possible to have a HB on one side of the bump only ?

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 12:12

YEY MOOBEE! Anyone else need squeezy vibes sending her way? Fish I am sending non-squeezy vibes Grin.

Moobee that sounds really positive, glad the birth video watching worked! Here's hoping for the MWLU for you, I know you really wanted it. Still plenty of time! I had a looooong walk yesterday and a curry but nothing doing here (except more BHs).

I just had my MW appt and baby's head is fully engaged, wohoo! BP is fine for me and everything else checks out - baby still ROA. MWs seemed pretty confident I wouldn't need the sweep but it's booked for 41+1. Fx hey!

fishandlilacs · 13/01/2012 12:51

ooh go moobee 1...2....3 ...SQUEEZE.....

My sisters progress has stopped al together, i just spoke to her and shes down in the hospital cafe having not had a cx for almost 3 hours now. The options are drip and another dose of gel at the moment. She's mightily pissed off as you can imagine which i'm sure isn't helping. They have had to wait 3 hours just for a doctor and they haven't been seen yet.

knittiekitty · 13/01/2012 13:05

Cakes you're doing brilliantly - congratulations! don't expect too much, unless you're one of those lucky ones who pings back straightaway you'll feel a bit of a car crash for the next 2 weeks or so. Hopefully your DH can stay with you all day on the ward and when you can you can let him snuggle Leo and then creep away for a shower when you're allowed or sleep as much as possible. I had no sleep due to noisy women on my ward and had to get really upset with the staff before they would help me get rest. I told them it's my 2nd child and my husband would help me if I went home and then they gave me one hour of sleep before bringing her back to me. And our mat ward is supposed to be a gold standard! The other shifts were lovely thankfully as I was in for 4 days.

I went to my GP today as I realised this week that I have no sensation in my bladder at all - 3 weeks and 2 days on and my stitches are going, my abrasions healed etc but I can't tell if I need to wee. He assured me it's very normal and as I don't have any incontinence problems he's sure it will come back gradually and will be sorted by 6 week check. It's very weird and bit scary and there's nothing on the Web about it. I go every 4 hours or so to make sure I don't wet myself or get uti etc - but my boobs are easing off at last (I'm still leaking more than a week after stopping). Honestly, the things we go through!

Missree we have one of those too - sleepy sleepy then ping! Wide awake and cross and usually doing turbo poo for good measure!

Go ladies go, I'm thinking of you all and sending stretchy perineum wishes too!

Moobee · 13/01/2012 13:07

Thank you all! :)

ghost you're more engaged than I was yesterday, last time they checked (last night) I was still 2/5 palpable. Fingers crossed for you! There's a pool in the main JR unit too if I start naturally.

If I have to go to the main bit and no pool then that'll be ok. As long as everyone comes out of the other side healthy, that's my main concern.

fishandlilacs · 13/01/2012 13:21

knittie I had that too, lost all feeling in my bladder for a couple of weeks after.

Fryn · 13/01/2012 14:06

Congratulations cakes! That was a toughy, but well done for getting through, and Leo is no doubt worth it all. Try not to be disappointed - there was nothing you could have done differently.

Go labour ladies, go! Hope everything kicks of properly for all of you soon.

knittie sounds like you're doing really well and I hope your bladder's back to normal soon.

fish baby brain, but was it you with the swollen ankles? I was berrating DH for telling a friend that even my ankles were fat last night, and said, look, they're not! At which point I actually looked at them and one of them is definitely swollen. Didn't have it with DD either, but presuming it's all normal, as everyone says! Sorry to hear about your sister too - it must be sooo frustrating.

Last day of work - woohoo! Having maternity drinks, as my boss called them, at 4.30, so only 2 1/2 hours left really. Now just hoping baby stays put for a couple of days while I pack my hospital bag and get the Moses sheets from my SiL!

parsley that's pretty much what we paid for DD at nursery for the first year and a bit, but the price decreased when she hit 2. We both have childcare vouchers, though which shaves about £2k off a year (although I have a feeling they've cut that back a bit now). Absolutely dreading having to pay for 2 of them full time - abject poverty-tastic for a year until DD goes to school. - sits down and fans wildly while breathing deeply-

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 14:07

I heard the pool there was fab too - good luck! And like you say, the key thing is that everyone emerges relatively unscathed in the end! I may have just had a cheeky Thai curry for lunch, since it worked for you Wink. Two curries in about 16 hours...

I'm going to see cakes later today (might see you there moobee!) and am so so excited!!! Hopefully those newborn pheromones will get things kick started Grin.

Right, two important things: who is starting the new thread and what should we call it, and secondly, can someone remind me the best place to fit the car seat and the base? Behind the passenger seat, right? I don't think the base will go in the middle...

fishandlilacs · 13/01/2012 14:11

fryn yes it was me with the cankles-MW just been out and said not to worry-no BP problems or anything else.

I have just had a sweep-despite my protestations this morning I decided i may as well give it a shot. Wasn't comfortable and I am not favourable-i don't think she poked about too much because she couldn't reach. Still high and closed. Cest la vie.

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 15:26

Fish I hope the sweep kicks things off for you!

saladcreamwitheverything · 13/01/2012 15:32

MW supposed to be here at 2.30 to do my sweep, never had one before...still waiting...wish she'd hurry up cos I've been dreading it all day!!

Nanny01 · 13/01/2012 15:44

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate cakes and hope things start soon for Moobee to night.

I managed to go shopping in asda with baby it took 2 hours when normally would only be an hour. Any way baby was ok till the last 10 mins and screamed hysterically at the check out. Fortunately the cashier was really nice and packed for me so I could hold ds and calm him down.

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 15:48

Moobee, cakes asked me to send her best wishes and to say good luck!

DawnOfTheDee · 13/01/2012 16:18

Congrats cakes and good luck to all those where things are starting to happen.

I'm 6 days over now (moanmoanmoan) and still now sign. Oh well, series 2 of The Wire is good in any case Wink

Do we have a new thread yet? Not much space left here....

saladcreamwitheverything · 13/01/2012 17:08

MW has been and gone, done the sweep which was painless thankfully, although i thought she was gonna lose her arm up there Confused ! Cervix 1cm dilated and still quite hard...Doesn't look very promising for anything to be happening soon.....induction booked for Tuesday 17th!!

Gonna get DH to get space hopper out the loft, have a bit of a bounce and maybe DTD tonight, see if I can't soften things up a bit!!! haha

Keep going ladies!

Congrats to the ladies on your newborns Thanks Smile

Bellakins · 13/01/2012 17:11

Wow, congrats to all new babies and thinking of those labouring/being induced. Go moobee! Well done to nanny for venturing out with little one to supermarket. Not sure when I'll be up to such tasks!

I'm now 40+4. Declined my sweep as between 3 and 4/5th palpable and so midwife thought my cervix would be too high to reach and so probably wouldn't be effective. Feel quite blue and snappy at husband today. Just want baby out!

Induction booked for 21st. Seems so far away and have just lost all hope of it happening on its own. Please tell me I'm being silly!!

Someone else will have to do new thread, bit of a technophobe here!

Oeisha · 13/01/2012 17:26

moobee Good l uck! Grin

fish Your poor sis! How frustrating!

fryn congrats! Last day Grin.

ghost our isofix is behind the passengar seat, yes. Simply because that's curb-side most of the time. So that's where carseat will be going...unless me and DH lose our minds totally.

...will get on that thread issue now.

Oeisha · 13/01/2012 17:30

Not very inventively named:
Next thread

MissRee · 13/01/2012 22:25

bellakins don't give up hope of labouring naturally! I was literally a few minutes from induction when my waters went and contractions started in earnest Grin
