Morning ladies Smile

Slept through. Was just about to say haven't felt bubs move yet this morning but she just did. Not much but a bit so will have to keep an eye today.

2 nursery appts today so I'll be able to see if the one earlier in the week was the going rate.

addicted hope you didn't have too bad a night Sad

ParsleyLion1 · 13/01/2012 06:33

Looking at the Stats list I think we have 3 events today. ELCS for mia and inductions for sho and belini

Good luck ladies. Fx for all of you x

FrillyMilly · 13/01/2012 06:54

Congratulations cakes. Beautiful name!! Try not to dwell too much on how he got here. The important thing is both of you are together and well. Sometimes babies don't do what they are supposed to do (I had an awkward dd who was comfy and wouldn't descend without help). Hope you are recovering well and are all home as a family very soon.

addictediam · 13/01/2012 06:59

Congratulations cakes. I'm sure you will be allowed home soon. Rest up and let dh wait on you and Leo while you recover and come to terms with what has happened. It really does sound like there was no other way it could have gone.

My night wasn't too bad, dh was up with dd from 12-2 I put her in our bed at 4 (although she didn't sleep much) and am now snuggled on the sofa with her. I'm hoping she'll do a massive poo soon and then sleep for a few hours so she's mot grumpy all day.

Belini · 13/01/2012 07:02

Congratulations cakes and welcome to the world Leo Thanks. I am due at the hospital in an hour to have my waters broken. Little bit scared but hoping for a smooth labour (prepared for a not so smooth one though). Going on previous labours of mine the twins should be here before tea time. Good luck to anyone else who is having their babies today.

ParsleyLion1 · 13/01/2012 07:19

Good luck belini. Hope all goes well for you today Smile

BigHotMama · 13/01/2012 07:29

Morning ladies

Congratulations cakes and welcome baby Leo sounds like you had a long hard labour. Need to rest lots and enjoy your new bundle.

Good luck to Mia sho and belini fx crossed you don't have to wait too long for your lo's to arrive today.

Slept like a log and dreamed of cooking sausage rolls?

My ankle has swollen too fish think it's normal for this part of of. My ankles were massive with my ds but I did have him in august and it was a hot summer. This time I can still feel my ankle bone and get my shoes on.

Today I am on the hunt for a changing bag as only have te boots free one and know it probably won't last long. Anybody got any suggestions? Thinking of the lime green wallaboo or a nice red one from somewhere?

Tonight it's a curry with the family so hoping it might stir things up downstairs as not feeling there is much action yet.

38.3 wks and counting!

Have a nice day everyone x

miamama09 · 13/01/2012 07:34

congratulations cakes, was worried when we didn't hear from you that there might be more to it... but hope you recover well and quickly! these things are taken out of our hands, so you did very well to last that long indeed! welcome to leo!

just scoffed down some tea and toast as nil by mouth from 7.30am, with ELCS not happening til this afternoon! not even allowed water after 11am!

will update as soon as I can. bit scared, but managed to get some sleep in between wees. just praying that I recover quickly & well to be honest, and that feeding goes ok...

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh here goes!!!!! GOOD LUCK to everyone else in the meantime, catch up soon!

peanuts777 · 13/01/2012 07:47

Good luck mia, sho and bellini!

I had a planned induction with my ds and it was brilliant, I really enjoyed the birth despite worrying about it beforehand.

cakes hope you and baby Leo got some sleep last night and you feel rested this morning after everything you went through.

I am putting on my boots, grabbing the dog and going for a stomp round the park. Friday the 13th- lucky for some! Hopefully for all us non - labouring, antsy ladies.....!

Have a lovely day

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 08:39

Good luck to sho, mia, and bellini! So exciting!

I have a MW appt today, fx it's good news re baby positioning etc. I'm having a bit of blood on a pad - doesn't look mucusy (sorry, but I know it's not really TMI here) but is either pink or dark, not bright, and is the tiniest amount. I've had this twice before, but am hoping it's not just random and is related to birth prep this time. Will certainly ask MW.

shonnomanom · 13/01/2012 08:40

Morning ladies
Had an awful night. Could be in any position but bolt upright without gushing. Had about 2 hours sleep then dp ran me a bath. Had about another 2hours since then.
Contractions are 1min every 10 so nothing exciting.
To be back at hosp for 1015

Good luck to all those getting help today. LET'S GET THESE BABIES OUT!

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 08:44

Oh sho, just try to rest, even if you can't sleep. Still good for you. You're on the right path, so good luck!

abeautifulbutterfly · 13/01/2012 08:52

Oh cakes, so pleased Leo is finally with you, and most importantly, that he's well, chilled and unscathed! You be kind to yourself - you've had an exhausting time of it physically and emotionally, but if he was tangled up inside, there was probably nothing that could have been done differently. Just concentrate on the two of you now, and don't be shy of demanding requesting help and attention if it doesn't come to you of its own accord. Hope you're home soon! Thanks

fishandlilacs · 13/01/2012 09:03

Morning,

Congrats cakes. I have nothing to add to what has been said above, well done, congrats on Leo. Sometimes these things cannot be helped. You may feel totally an utterly shattered by the experience right now but it will pass, I promise you. I never thought i'd ever recover from DD's birth but i did and here I am. It's taken it's time and a lot of support but you will get there. Sending you warm snuggly healing vibes.

mia i'm thinking of you today as well. VERY BEST OF LUCK!!

shonno and belini and you my lovelies xxx

I hope you have agood day everyone else.

My sister was 4cm dilatd at 2.30am this morning and her waters went then as well. No news since, slow progress for her.

My hip pain was so bad i couldn;t take dd to school today-thankfully we have a neighbour who walks her own kids pastso she took her in for me today. I'm running myself the biggest deepest bath I can manage with lashing of clary sage. I have had some strong crampings again but again nothing regular.

Oeisha · 13/01/2012 09:11

fish some swelling is normal, yes. But watch out for headaches etc.

cakes Congrats Thanks Bear Look after yourself and Leo.

Good luck to sho mia and bellini and anyone else who's labouring (headache again, memeory bad, even Gizzard's sticking to me like glue and forgoing a romp outside with his brother).

BHM I saw a guy in town using what I swear is a boots changing bag as a general bag...fairly roughed up, but still functioning!

Eh gads. I'm getting the most uncomfortable and fairly painful ripping feeling really close to my groin. It's been happening on and off for weeks, but that's the 3rd one today. Think it's an old operation scar stretching/being unhappy but ruddy hell it's random and really very Confused.

Think I might try for a bit more sleep. Can't seem to wake properly.

addictediam · 13/01/2012 09:29

Fish are they using this new drug at our hospital? I really dont like the sound of it. Can you opt to have the old drug? Are these questions I need to ask my mw! :)

Hope the bath kicks things off for you.

blueeyedmonster · 13/01/2012 09:57

Congratulations cakes

fish swelling is definately normal, I blew up like a balloon with ds. This time I wake up with nice normal sized feet, ankles and lower legs and by the time I go to bed they are massive..............I really should rest them up more!

I've never heard of this new drug, what's the difference with it then?

MissRee · 13/01/2012 10:00

Good luck sho, Mia and belini - hope your births are good experiences for you Smile

Freya slept from 3 til 8 this morning! Think I'm going to be needing to wake her for feeds, the lazy bum Grin she went straight back off after her feed at 8 and is still asleep now (as is Daddy!!!). Waiting in for the MW to come see us today.

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 10:19

That's the kind of news we like missree!

fishandlilacs · 13/01/2012 10:51

Thanks for the comfort about swelling-I never had any with DD. They are already starting today and i have't done much.

addicted Sis is in coventry hospital. I have no idea if they are using it at WRH. I'm not sure I like the sound of it either not while they are keeping the mums in-I think the idea of being able to come home is good if that is the plan ultimately. I wish I knew what it was called so I could find out more. It's really not ideal for my sister-especially as she has a DC already. She could be in for days at this rate. She so didn't want to be induced and one of the last thing she said to me on the phone was "OH well at least with induction it's over quite quickly"

I'm now trying my best to avoid going into labour. I have been thinking it over and over and I actually want a c sec now. Have MW coming to me at 1pm so im getting the antenatal check i needed.

addictediam · 13/01/2012 10:58

Thanks fish, I might try and discuss it with my mw on tuesday.

Sending non labour vibes to you instead! Can you speak to the mw about moving the elcs earlier? Hope your appointment goes well.

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 11:02

Gosh, I'm so clumsy these days! I have cut my hands in three places this week and have just bashed my head on the sink at the GP - have no idea what my body is doing this days [cross-eyed]...

Also, does anyone else's GP have an automated check in system that is full of fail? On recent appts I've been told that I can't be found, that I don't have an appt, and today there was a cross note saying 'you are very late' (I was 10 mins early!)

Luckily the receptionists are so personable and charming when you check in with them Hmm

Moobee · 13/01/2012 11:23

Hi everyone, hope all is well. Sho hope things progress for you.

Well, ghost sent me squeezy vibes yesterday and they seem to work! We went out for a Thai green curry followed by a walk and then came home. I wanted to watch the waterbirth from OBEM as it had been recommended here so watched that, stood up and my waters broke.

I had to go to the hospital at 1am to get it confirmed. Back home at 4.30am for tea, toast and sleep. I'm waiting for labour to start now. As the 24 hour rule doesn't work well if they go at midnight, I'm booked for induction at 8am tomorrow if things don't progress naturally. I'm a bit worried I have a mental block about today - so many people have said 'not Friday 13th!!' that I was hoping to avoid today so people wouldn't be negative. But if it doesn't start by 5.30pm then I can't go to the MWLU and if not by tomorrow then induction so I need to clear these stupid mental blocks now!

We're heading out for a meal and a walk to hopefully get things moving. I had period type and back aches yesterday but no contractions. They've gone too now though.

I know you're all good about this but I'm not telling people in real life yet, so please don't write anything on Facebook. I'll tell people once I have a baby which will be in the next couple of days, eek!

Send more squeezy vibes! Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 13/01/2012 11:33

Eeek Moobee. Sending squeezy vibes Grin

Just back from another nursery. £10 a week cheaper but looks like £1100 - £1200 a month is the going rate round here. Very different to the other one but still nice.
