New thread for new babies!

Happy new year everyone, not long for those of us that haven't popped yet!

Not seen anything yet - she was being induced potentially on Thursday I think?

JingleFryn · 01/01/2012 17:31

Hello everyone,
I must confess to a sneaky glass of prosecco last night -it was so good but then meant I was miserable as I couldn't have any more! Nice walk in the woods today followed by lots of food, so not a bad start to the year. Although I was walking so slowly I was about 1/4 mile behind DH by the end. Damn there BHs.
So, who's going to be next? Maybe we should have a sweep stake!

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 01/01/2012 18:07

Hiya all,

well i actually had a very pleasant afternoon. DH cooked a gorgeous meal, my white choc cheesecake was to die for and DD was at her cutest best. The new GF was totally lovely, we hit it off straight away. Very down to earth and isn't taking any rubbish from DH's best mate. We chatted easily and laughed easily. He was lovely company-so much better than he has been for ages. I do hope lasts.

so that'll teach me for being such a misery guts this morning. :)

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 01/01/2012 18:13

lol - glad you got on well with her. It makes life so much easier when that happens, doesn't it? :)

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 18:55

Omg the pregnancy hormones!! I'm weeping at the end of Bolt... He's just so cute!!!

Oeisha · 01/01/2012 19:00

wombat Congratulations! Welcome and snuggles to Felix! Thanks Bear
pink Congratulations to you too! Welcome to Dennis! Give him snuggles too Thanks Bear

red sex-ban has been lifted here. Since I was admitted at 31wks DH had implmented a ban. Now I'm past 37wks and it's post festivities DH is all up for it again.

Green FX for a smooth induction!

wormSad re: separated abs. Have they said it's going to impact on birth at all?

I've probably missed more...so apologies if I have.

As for me, I'm ok. Was in the middle of nowhere for NY so no fireworks or anything (though I did get extreemly sad and worried for all the animals out there that would be terrified all because some tit wants to hear something loud - strong view, I do relalise, but I have 2 very anxious kitties), especially in London. Wonder if London City pays for all the sedating Battersea and others have to do, just because they want to hear some loud bangs....bloody well should.

Have had a weird rush of fluid today, post DTD and nothing since, and more than before, but not all that much, so I'm guessing it's just something related to that...lordy knows what, it was very liquid. Missy's moving about as usual. Am monitoring the situation though.

I had a really good day for indigestion yesterday...but didn't eat much fruit...today back to normal...maybe it's the fruit!?

Anyway, still got indigestion from lunch, but it's dinner time. TTYL.

Oeisha · 01/01/2012 20:09

Well, I now feel very uncomfy. Missyface is wiggling lots too, lots and lots right now.
Constantly need to pee today (like feeling I coudl go again 10mins after previous emptying). No other feelings of UTI. Seeing MW Wed, so I'm sure if there's any sign of infection other than needing to pee they'll pick it up if this doesn't go away.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 01/01/2012 20:52

Ghost - what's Bolt?

And I'm weeping at random stuff too. Must be prescribed behaviour for 38 + 3...

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 20:54

It's a Pixar cartoon about a dog who think he's a superhero and needs to rescue his owner, a little girl. He's just so lovely and cute! Managed to avoid too much weeping at Wall-E though Grin

hope everyone is ok, im plodding along here still with out baby ame in my arms GRRRR. hope that she make a appearance soon as my plug is comming away on a daily baises and the pains are getting stonger each day too. would love for them to induce labour just to get it over with so i can enjoy by baby girl!

Bignorkz · 01/01/2012 22:55

Can I join? Due on Friday 6th! Had a few period type pains a couple of times a day since xmas eve but nothing else....this is my first so not sure what to expect! Not packed my bag yet - theory being Law of the Sod - if I don't pack it, the baby will come!

knittiekitty · 01/01/2012 22:56

Thank you for the lovely messages and flowers! Less guilt as I've let two enormous bouquets die in their boxes since we got home - wouldn't usually but just haven't had the time or energy to faff with vases. We won't tell the senders though. Big congrats to Pink and Sleepywombat too!
If it cheers anyone up, I was having regular contractions when I went in for early induction and really couldn't feel much more than Higgs. They kept saying 'can't you feel that?!' when checking the readings so more of you might be in latent labour alrady!
I'm so tired I feel quite up and down at the moment. The fireworks woke baby Anna last night which wasn't funny as she took a while to calm down. Shows there's nothing wrong with her hearing I suppose. I'm still struggling with breast feeding too - 11 days of expressing is taking it's toll and we just can't latch on one side Sad without much pain for me and scrabbling from her. I can't empty it fully either and it's desperately upsetting me as I don't want to finish but won't be able to keep taking hours per feed (trying, expressing, sterilising pump etc) when school and life start up again. Probably should find another thread to sob into about this, sorry.
By the way, what happens to us once everyone has produced? I'll be sorry to lose contact with the list...can we stay here?

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 23:45

Argh MN just ate my post!!! The gist was:

Fab to hear from you kitty and it sounds like you're doing so well! Am sure MN will be able to help with bfing support.

I assumed we'd keep a jan 2012 thread alive and that we'd still be posting on a 'Jan 2012 babies - terrible teens' type thread Grin

Have just been reading my baby book about caring for baby when he/she arrives - not sure I'd really thought about that bit much Blush. Keeping them clean sounds terrifying!

Here's hoping that kitty is right and that these BHs are latent labour; I'm a bit bored now...

Wormshuffler · 02/01/2012 02:26

Hi Girls

Good to hear from you mumtobe we all thought you would have popped, and be snuggled up by now. I predict you will be next!

Well done on the 11 days of breastfeeding knittie I am no expert, but is there a local breastfeeding cafe you could go to to get help with the latch?
As for us all keeping in touch we could start a thread in the post-natal section and carry on just the same :)

Welcome bignorkz get that bag packed!!

oeisha the split abbs wont impact on my birth at all as I am an elcs lady, it's purely my vanity that will suffer as the muscles dont always go back on their own and lead to you looking PG after the birth. Sit ups cant be done as they lead to hernias. I am with you on the needing a wee thing. Sometimes when I get a HB it squeezes my bladder as well and a bit of wee comes out Blush

It is stupid oclock again and I am rather pissed off that despite deliberately denying myself any nan-naps yesterday I still can't sleep!
The date for DGF funeral is the 12th, so I will be 6 days post section and have had to accept the fact that I simply won't be able to go. The 6 hour journey each way is just not practical in a day and I am not willing to stay overnight and be away from my other dc's when I have just got home from my hospital stay of 3 days in all likelyhood. The fact I am bringing a new member into the family at this sad time seems to be giving the family comfort and I will go down in february half term and pay my respects then and introduce baby to the family.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 03:40

ugh. Despite preventative Gaviscon I am awake due to vicious (sp? that doesn't look right) acid reflux. Ugh. Not to mention repeatedly waking up in a muck sweat.

I've finished my book, too, not sure whether to start one of my new ones that I was saving for breastfeeding night duty or just annoy people on AIBU threads...

Love the name Anna, btw Kitty - have you got any pics? Sorry you're struggling with the BF. I think I'm taking it a bit for granted that we'll manage OK, but there's no point worrying until baby's here I suppose. Are there any BF counsellors or La Leche League type people in your area?

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 04:11

Kitty - saw this thread, any help?

Am so exhausted but can't lie down due to acid. This is like some form of torture...

Brownwolf · 02/01/2012 04:24

hi everyone just wanted to let you know that Hannah Eve arrived a week early on the 31st. She weighed 6lb 15oz. Hannah likes to sleep in the day but not at night and does not like to sleep in a crib cot or basket but prefers to lie on us! She has been very clear regarding her likes and dislikes, and we are here to serve! Have had v little sleep since the birth think am going slightly mad. Am in that exhausted but wired state right now hence the posting. Will catch up with you all properly some point soon. Congrats to those already with babies and good luck to the rest of you xxx

Mulledbee · 02/01/2012 04:28

I hate acid reflux, it can be really really awful. Before I was diagnosed I just assumed it was slightly uncomfortable. You have my sympathies cakes :(

Kitty, I think there's a post-natal area, I occasionally see in the most commented threads, 'OCT 09 - terrible twos' and similar titles. I'd be gutted to lose contact with everyone!

Welcome bignorkz! I second the call to pack your bag! :)

Wormshuffler - I hope you managed to sleep in the end.

I was having a perfectly good sleep with a reasonable dream that suddenly for no reason turned into a shocking nightmare and woke me with a start. It was horrible! Now I don't want to sleep until the memory of that has passed. How annoying. Still, it means I get to feel baby kick now.

Off to read AIBU I think. cakes, did you decide book or AIBU In the end? I was in the middle of a decent book that I've lost somewhere round the house.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 04:32

Went for 'Active thread' browsing in the hopes that acid would settle soon and I could sleep. No luck so far. :(

Gaviscon, Rennies, milk - nothing working. Am semi reclining on the sofa and hoping to sleep now, we'll see...

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 04:33

Oops - yes - congratulations Wolf - another beautiful name, too :) So jealous that you're getting to know your LO already!

addictediam · 02/01/2012 07:33

Congratulations wolf.
I think we are almost at the stage where we can expect a birth announcement each day! :o

Please block your ears ladies (and thoes of your little ones)

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

That is all, now i feel alittle better.

ParsleyLion1 · 02/01/2012 08:09

Congrats wolf Grin Thanks and good to hear from you kittie- can't help with the bf bit yet but there should be support available locally.

Welcome bignorkz I third the bag packing! Wink

FrillyMilly · 02/01/2012 08:29

Congratulations wolf!!

Is it completely normal to leak? I keep getting large wet patches in my underwear, it even soaks through to my trousers but when I put a pad in and monitor for a couple of hours it feels completely dry. It's happened quite a few times since yesterday. A second pregnancy seems to be no less confusing than the first one!
