Nice work Oeisha!!
Woo - shiny new thread! If I don't pop before the end of this one I might cry!
Hello! Marking place. Thanks for the good wishes. Nothing is moving here although the leakage went a bit niagara falls esque for a while. I've missed the deadline for the MWLU but there's still time for things to begin naturally.
this is going to be the baby popper! Most of us will have babies by the end i'll bet. Should move a bit slower too as there be less of us actively on as much once we have our babies.
I just had the biggest most massive-est cramp pain-made me swear like a trooper and crawl onto my ball. A close to one of my endometriosis period pains as i have had outside of having endo. It's really bloody hurt but it's gone now. I'll see if get another one in a bit because i'd swear it may have been a cx. Typical of my luck that it would be the start.
i have this way of things going against me. I think I must be the most confused and changebale mummy on the thread-one day ELCS then the next i'm having a sweep-the truth is I dont know what i want other than a healthy baby. How it gets here is moot.
Thanks for the thread oeisha!
Moobee good luck tonight
Fish, you'll be ok whatever the outcome, I'm sure, but good luck!
Fish good luck with however it turns out for you! How is your sister?
Bella with DD she was only 4/5 palpable but I went in to spontaneous labour. She was born day before her due date. Not all babies engage before labour so not a sure sign you won't have baby before induction date.
Congrats to Cakes and baby Leo. Hope your being well looked after.
I have a another little girl now, as of Sunday evening. Another full moon baby for me! I was 39+1 and waters broke at 4am in a gush. Contractions then started at 5am but weren't very frequent. We went to hosp around 9am despite the gaps as we live an hour away and home births don't happen here. I was 5cm but head was too high so I was told to come back after a few hours and let gravity do it's thing.
At 2pm my contractions finally got serious and I was examined again. Only 6 cm but the head had dropped down.
The pushing stage came at 4.30pm and lasted 7 mins. I needed a couple of stitches but nothing like the amount I got last time.
Jellybean was 8lb 9oz and doing great at home now. I was kept in for the full 3 days as the last of the waters had a green tinge so they wanted to be sure there was no infection.
Thanks to Oeisha for the postnatal link too.
I've my fingers crossed for those who are so close now. Will try to keep up with this thread but wow, it moves fast.
Just trying out the new thread for size and bringing more squeezy vibes for you Moob and lots of chill factor for you Fish. Don't envy your sister - FX things get moving for her...
TMI alert - my plug started going today - I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but it at least feels like progress.
Could do with waiting a few days though as DD2 is at home with a nasty cold which I'm seriously hoping isn't turning into tonsillitis - she's had a constantly sore throat for 3 days now and I'd hate to have to farm her out to anyone in this snotty state (and I'm sure the school parents who've so generously agreed to have the girls while DH is helping me give birth would hate it too!) SO she is being dosed up with garlic syrup and gargled with salt water in the hope of getting rid asap.
Woah - x-post! Congratulations scrambled! Sounds like you're doing great
Ladies I would like to congratulate you all on your very comfortable uterus's (uteri?) I am at the very end of the bus and tomorrow, at 37 weeks I am officially full term
not one of us has had a premature baby, there have been a few scary moments for some but all babies have stayed put! (some are too comfy tho and i think all need eviction notices now!
)
Sorry scrambled somehow missed your post!
Congratulations x
Oh congrats scrambled. Do you have a name for your new bundle yet?
scrambled Mega-congrats!
and
!
My discharge seems to have almost gone over last couple of days and the little preper discharge I am having is fairly thick, but I seem to be feeling very damp, constantly. Doesn't smell like wee, so don't think it's that. Ah well. I give in trying to guess anything, though MIL swears I've dropped further. <<shrugs>>
No updates from sis since 1pm. I'm getting quite anxious now. Trying not to worry but all this stop start business is crap. She was exhausted at 1pm this afternoon how is she going to manage if shes in labour forever. If it were me i'd be asking for a section by now-shes dead placid my sister and will not kick up a fuss. i wish she would a bit so she gets better treatment.
addicted I spoke to my midwife and the new drug is called "Propess" and yes they are beginning to use it in worcester. It's tampon type thing that you have to keep inside. (i few searches turned up some thread on MN about it-it appears to be not all that new threads from 2010) It's supposed to be stronger and better but gentler on the Mum. However my sisters reaction to it is extremely unusual-it's been almost fail safe. Hers did actually fall out this morning but she didn't know that hence the stopping of the cx but they should not have stopped anyway once she had had it in for a while.
Congratulations scrambled!
I have had a couple of period pains again today but it's so few and far between that I doubt anything will come of it. Anyway i'm not yet 40wks so there is time.
Ds has started sleeping through again now he's not so ill which has been amazing the last few nights. I hope to get a couple more in before sleep is broken an awful lot more!
Scrambled, huge congratulations, sounds like it all went well!
Fish am keeping fx (not legs though!) for your sister, sounds exhausting.
And addicted, welcome to full term!
I've just come back from the hospital where I met cakes's little Leo - he's such a cutie! Cakes and her DH are doing fabulously well; on a better ward now and still very cheery. And cakes says despite everything being off plan she had excellent care. Didn't see moobee there but thinking squeezy thoughts for her (cakes is too!)
Now, let's hope pamplemousse decides it would be fun to meet baby-cakes soon - hoping those newborn vibes will get things going! Am back on with some frequent HBs, but no real contractions yet. Slowly, slowly...
Thanks fish, I'll do alittle research on it and discuss it with the mw. I dont thonk thats the one i had last time, and it worked really well and quickly and dont want to prolong anything!
Thanks for the new thread oeisha
Congrats scrambled

Saw another nursery this afternoon. Hated it - was too big and the staff all too young and inexperienced. The baby room didn't have any windows!
Congrats to new mums :-)
I've just got out of the bath with one sided back ache (feels like cramp) and now can't stop shaking, feel really nervous too but I don't know what about
Congrats to mia she has just posted on FB the birth of Jacob 7lb 7oz

Congratulations Mia - what a beautiful name, is on my boy shortlist too
Congrats Mia xxx
Congrats Mia on the birth of baby Jacob
Same weight as Freya
Congratulations Mia and Scrambled!
I'm glad cakes is doing well too.
I'm sorry I've been missing everyone's updates today. I rang the delivery suite to ask a question and as it's now 24 hrs since my waters broke, they wanted me in tonight! Currently in a holding area awaiting a room for induction I believe. I'm getting impatient so I'm quite looking forward to getting things moving.
Congrats mia, cakes and scrambled! All very different births but all bringing you the most important thing, a safe and healthy baby!
Gorgeous names being chosen on this thread too!
Am 40+12 today, which is when they start you on the induction wagon round these parts, was booked in but on arrival asked for just the initial monitoring and then a chat with the doctor as I was keen to go to Monday before any interventions. If I were to go into labour naturally tonight or tomorrow the community midwives would still be happy to deliver me at home. Ctg showed baby is perfectly happy and healthy in there, doctor agreed to let me go until Sunday pm and then I'll be admitted. Homebirth off the cards once you reach 40+14 as you move from low to high risk, so by putting of induction by 48 hours I can feel happy that i've given us the best chance of a homebirth possible, and be comfortable with the idea of induction. Was good to see the induction suite etc so I can begin to prepare mentally for what would be a big shift in the birth plan.
So fingers crossed for things moving on tonight, I'm apparently 2cm dilated but not having particularly useful contractions, just strong and mildly uncomfortable tightenings which I've been having since my second sweep on weds.
Good luck to everyone who is labouring/elcs-ing over the next couple of days! Did not realise waters could gush like that for so long shonno!
fish hope things move on for your sister too - propess is the drug of choice here, they give you the pessary as the first stage of induction unless you are more than 3cm dilated in which case they move straight on to breaking waters. Sounds like she has already had quite an ordeal poor love, fx things pick up for her soon. It must be so hard for you not knowing what is happening and having such irregular updates.
