Happy new year everyone, not long for those of us that haven't popped yet!

OP posts:

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 15:40

harmoizer here too-did you read the other seciotns too?

kelli10 · 12/01/2012 15:45

Energizer and a warm heart here! Not sure I fully agree with all their suggestions, perhaps thats the perfect version of me. Something to strive for though.

Fryn · 12/01/2012 15:52

Cleaning cars?? Crikey ladies - that's what the blokes in Sainsbury's car park are for, surely?!

ghost I reckon you're going to pop shortly - when you go into a sudden flurry of activity it's usually a sign! (well, I hope so!)

I'm a seeker - didn't get round to reading what that means but there seemed to be quite a lot of stress related pictures that got clicked on!!

Oeisha · 12/01/2012 16:46

I got Energizer too kelli. I think about 1 in 10 things said actually reflected me.

Washing away. Labelled all the drawers in the nursery so DH can find stuff (had another "what if I die" moment). Slight reorganisation of hospital bag (put a tshirt in for DH and my contact lense stuff, took out some stuff).

What next? Oh yeah...the stuff I need to throw in bags last minute (glasses etc). Must make a lits on the whiteboard.

supadupapupascupa · 12/01/2012 17:08

energizer here too Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 12/01/2012 17:08

I was a striver didn't agree 100% with it but some of it wasn't too far off Grin I was a rock steady on the relationship bit which I did agree with.

Just been doing deep squats and pelvic opening exercises If they don't get things toned up for Monday nothing will Wink

ParsleyLion1 · 12/01/2012 17:14

Ps I'm thinking of labeling the drawers as well. I know which sizes are in which drawer and flannel, sheets and towels but OH has no idea. I wasn't thinking about death though. Just if I needed him to get me something.

Re disposable nappies. Has anybody bought a big pack? I've only got the small pack of pampers that we bought to get the changing bag. I'm now having doubts but am loathe to buy a big pack in case they leak and we need another brand?

DawnOfTheDee · 12/01/2012 17:18

Oh and I'm a warm heart with a playful streak on the relationship bit!

Moobee · 12/01/2012 17:33

I'm an energiser and a warm heart too.

I've just had my midwife appointment. Baby is 2/5 palpable so getting quite engaged which is good. They're still on the right side - they haven't moved as long as I have been able to feel them. I'm going to have a sweep at 41+1 on Monday and then induction at about 42 weeks if that doesn't work.

I've never so much as felt a BH let alone anything stronger so I feel like I'm a way off yet. However I also thought I had a triangular baby but the midwife felt the top of the bump and said that was tightenings rather than baby. Maybe I'll be one of those lucky women who don't feel contractions? Grin

I was told that I could go beyond 42 weeks for induction as long as I have daily monitoring but I don't want to - I think by that point I would want to get things going. I really don't want to go to 43 weeks!

Moobee · 12/01/2012 17:35

I have two different branded packs of nappies Parsley, I can see which ones fit best.

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 17:35

AIBU to think it's a bit out of order that my tosspot BIL hasn't updated anyone at all yet. Not even a small note on progress.

No one has heard from them since 8.30 this morning. No one can get hold of them via mobiles and the hospital line I have been given is the post natal ward requests partners only to call. They wouldn't know yet anyway assuming she's in delivery suite.

Or should i be butting out and not minding? It's thier business afterall, but we are immediate family. I'm worried.

ParsleyLion1 · 12/01/2012 17:37

I haven't had any HBs either moobee I'd kind of like one just so I can get my head around the sensation before the actual contractions start.

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 17:38

parsley I used pampers in the early days, hated huggies they leak to buggery IMO. Tesco's own were good. Lidl own were good. but i tried to use nature babycare when I could afford them.

I guess it depends on baby-I have bought several packs of different brands-ASDA had the big packs 2 for a tenner the other day so I have them, plus 3 of the small packs of pampers.

ParsleyLion1 · 12/01/2012 17:41

Hmm good idea moobee may do that too.

fish doesn't sound like you have much choice anyway - you'll have to just leave them to it.

addictediam · 12/01/2012 17:45

Lol fish I was just about to say pampers are rubbish, they leak and smell revolving when dd did a wee. I found huggies fitted really well, hardly ever leaked and didn't smell.
Different babies suit different nappies I guess!

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 17:46

Maybe I should rephrase that AIBU to think my BIL is a tosspot?

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 17:46

Grin theres no love lost as you can tell.

ghosteditor · 12/01/2012 17:46

Hi ladies, just got back from a 4 mile walk with DH (broken by a cream tea Grin) and it's a beautiful evening. Have achieved window cleaning, vacuuming, cleaning of said vacuum (I know!), sorting of cupboards, and a few other bits and pieces, which makes me feel better!

Tonight DH and SIL are going climbing so I'm going to go watch and alarm the wall staff by pretending to do bouldering Wink. Then we might go for a spicy curry...

MW appt tomorrow - baby feels pretty engaged to me as I feel so much pressure, but I guess I'll find out. Does anyone know if she will do an internal? I would like to find out if I'm in any way effaced etc, even if it's not the news I want.

Moobee you sound like you're very calm and coping well, which is great. Will you delay induction for a while then if needed? I know cakes wasn't sure if she was feeling BHs at all but I felt her belly and she definitely was having the same tightenings as me! I don't feel the tightness per se, more the effect on the rest of my muscles - possibly because I've done a lot of Pilates etc?

As I've said before, my birthday is 11 days after my due date, so I'd want to wait until after then to be induced!! It's much more like 40+14 than 40+10 these days though isn't it?

Nothing major to report here - some very mild and random BHs and oddly a bit of pink on wiping, but not a show or anything. Am keeping an eye on it.

fishandlilacs · 12/01/2012 17:47

Hah ha addicted i guess so.

FrillyMilly · 12/01/2012 17:50

Maybe he's just forgotten fish?

Nappy wise I have some huggies I got with a free voucher, some aldi ones that I fancied trying and a couple of asda ones. I used asda own with DD and really like them. I hate pampers cos they stink of wee even though tiny baby wee doesn't smell.

Got a pamphlet through today and the baby event at asda starts on Tuesday. I'm going to get more nappies and wipes whilst they are on offer. Also seen a swing for £35 and a Chicco stroller for £55 Im tempted by.

shonnomanom · 12/01/2012 17:50

Hello pretty ladies!

Officially in slow labour. Back at home as contractions aren't doing enough to get anyone excited. Unless things kick off prior we've to go back at 1015 tommorrow when they will intervene. Waters are still trickling away.

Couldn't help

shonnomanom · 12/01/2012 17:53

Hit send too early

Couldn't help but think of cakes, has there been any news?

As far as nappies goes, it doesn't hurt to a have variety in the early days. The Asda own brand is supposed to be really good for new born size

ghosteditor · 12/01/2012 18:03

Hi sho, that's exciting, hope all goes well for you!

I haven't heard from cakes since 11am, when she had been induced and was in established labour with an epidural. I'm hoping she's had the baby but don't want to bother them, esp if they're still waiting. So I'm hoping her DH will update soon - or even better, that the baby has arrived and she'll update herself!

Pamplemousse keeps having hiccoughs and it's the oddest sensation now that the head is so engaged! Anyone else getting that Wink?

tigana · 12/01/2012 18:13

fish yeah I read the other sections. R'ship wise i am a "rock Steady" apparently. I lost faith in it when it told me I had a 'passion for fashion'...erm, no...[scruffy arse grin]

ParsleyLion1 · 12/01/2012 18:20

Yes I've had quite a few hiccoughs since bubs engaged. It does feel a bit odd. I read that they hiccough more at this stage as they are practicing breathing.
