Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Hello ladies Smile just thought I'd pop over and see where everyone was up to! It's lovely to see you all doing so well.

Lots of love to bumps and babies xx

TerrysNo2 · 30/04/2011 18:54

Hi Mouse and all!

I am good, 13+1 today and getting bigger. Enjoying being pregnant but really fancy a glass of cold rose. Had a pint of shandy yesterday which was lush. Was shocked when my MW told me new rules were zero alcohol?!?! I am going on what I did with DS which was one small glass of wine or half a lager a week. What about everyone else?

Potty training DS at the moment which is part stressful part fun - read my Potty Diary if like

Hope everyone else has good long weekends!

GetDownYouWillFall · 30/04/2011 19:14

Hi there mousebacon how are you doing? I do occasionally lurk on the charters conception thread and saw you were back in the game. Hope you are ok.

terrys I am going with the zero alcohol, but mainly because of my paranoia worry that something is going to go wrong. At least having no alcohol gives me less reason to blame myself for anything untoward.

I did have a glass or two of wine when I was pregnant with DD. Pretty sure your one a week is safe though. If you feel happy with it just go for it.

Feel for you re. the potty training. We were doing that exactly 1 year ago!

LadyGoneGaga · 30/04/2011 19:27

Hello Mouse - lovely to hear from you? How are you doing?

Terrys I did zero alcohol for the first trimester as apparently this is when all organs etc are forming. Now I'm in the third (!) I will have a glass of wine or a cold beer a couple of times a week if I fancy it. Good luck with potty training. DS has been "trained" for almost a year now but still poos in his pants at nursery regularly. Funny how he hardly ever does it at home Hmm

I just have two more days at work then on hols for two weeks. Going to Greece - can't wait. Bit stressed as have to get a Doctor's note to fly as am now 28 weeks. Consultant at hospital said he would give me one and post it, this was last week. Yeah right - have had nothing! Am going to have to go to my GP and beg I think.

Getting fat feet now in the evenings. And bump is massive. But little baby is doing well I think.

Off out for dinner with friends tonight as DS with his Dad and DP is away for the weekend mountain climbing with his brother. The house is VERY quiet!

Hope everyone having another lovely long weekend!

nickstermum · 30/04/2011 21:58

Hi Mouse... hope you are doing ok honey xx follow you [stalker emoticon] in the common room. Hope everythings getting back to normal now. xx

Re the booze... NIL for me. Dont drink anyway tbh, but totally abstain during pg. Having said that, at the min have had a penchant for weak ice cold shandy..... Grin

Re the potty. poos remain a challenge here... DS holds it in, compacts it then it hurts him... then of course nursery arent 1-1 and so accidents happen.

Hope everyone are great,.. have a good bhol weekend... xxx

spilttheteaagain · 02/05/2011 20:44

mouse lovely to hear from you. How are you doing? Have you seen battery around recently? Hope she's ok.

booze wise... I am basically not drinking but will have a few sips of wine with a meal if I fancy it. I am a terrible lightweight normally and I don't want to get as far as tipsy whilst I am pregnant (which I would normally manage with 1 glass of wine, and given I've now not been drinking for 11 months... probably would take even less!)

LadyG if we don't speak before, just wanted to say I hope you have a fabulous time in Greece. It sounds lovely.

It has been amazingly sunny and wonderful here this weekend. I even have slightly burnt shoulders to prove it! Having the mob to visit went well - lovely to see them and fantastic to say goodbye. I am shattered! Seemed to be a ceaseless run of food prep and drinks providing. The dishwasher has worked very hard.

And I am now just over 24 weeks!! Grin I have relaxed so much more for it. Baby spilt is reassuringly wriggly and kicky, mostly at mealtimes and in the evening... I reckon she knows when food is due!

Hope you are all well xx

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 03/05/2011 09:24

ladyg hope you get your note and have a great holiday! I'm off on holiday to florida in 6 weeks. I'll be about 16 wks then so all should be fine.

Currently sitting in tears in my car as it's the 4th anniversary of madeline mccann's abduction and radio 2 are playing 'you are not alone'. I cannot imagine how her parents get through each day....
I cry at lots lately, pg hormones.

As to drinking, each to their own but I do have a small glass once a wk. Generally a glass of red to relax. The new rules on zero alcohol came out and when asked to provide the new evidence to support this, the g'ment didn't have any. Basically some misguided women think 'one or two units' = a drink(s) every night, so the guidelined err on the side of caution. I told my mw I wasn't drinking but I do have one glass. But each to their own - I wouldn't worry if you have the odd glass but abstain if you feel better.

LadyGoneGaga · 03/05/2011 11:29

Thanks ladies! Grin

I made a GP appt this morning to get a note (took ages to make as first daty back after bank hol). And then the post came and the Doctors note. Hmm But they didn't put an EDD on it which the airline website says it has to have to had to go to GP's anyway. So hopefully can pick it up by end of tomorrow!

Glad to had a nice weekend, Spilt. And massive congrats on hitting viability. A few more weeks cooking and you'll be holding a baby!

It is very sad, MrsA. But also easy to cry at lots of things. I get so emotional sometimes.

Hope Nix had a good weekend?

Pippaandpolly · 03/05/2011 12:46

Hi everyone, sorry to have gone AWOL. My mother in law died quite unexpectedly-she's been ill with kidney disease for years but we just didn't think it was going to happen now. She was so excited about the baby-devastating that she won't meet her first grandchild. If it's a girl she'll have her name as a middle name. Anyway, haven't been online much and won't be for a while, but am thinking of all of you and hoping you're well. Hopefully will be back soon-need to sort out the funeral and will (we have suddenly inherited 3 properties, complete with mortgages, and having never owned one or inherited anything have no idea what to do re. paying mortgages, bills etc-just to add to the stress! There should be a 'how to organise' guidebook for when people die.) Take care all.

mousebacon · 03/05/2011 12:48

I'm ok thanks. There's an ongoing saga with retained products after the 2nd mc but hopefully it'll be sorted soon.

Battery just got a BFP spilt she's had some spotting so is naturally worried but fingers crossed for her.

LadyGoneGaga · 03/05/2011 13:42

Oh Pippa sorry to hear your news. My Dad died when I was pregnant with DS so know how stressful/sad it is and it does add an extra layer of pathos to everything. But at least the nbaby will give your DH soemthing positive to focus on which will be a comfort. And lovely you are giving the baby her name as a middle name. DS is named after my Dad. Thinking of you.

Mouse sorry you have had some ongoing issues. Is the last thing you need. But hopefully it will get sorted soon as you say so you can get your body back to normal.

And congrats to Battery if she is lurking. It is a bloody fraught time, especially where there is bleeding. Hope she's ok.

Day of medical appts today. Had dcotor first thing, just back from Chiro about my SPD and got midwife this afternoon. More bloods but it will be good to see how baby is lying. Pretty sure head down (most big kicks are well above navel) but not sure if lying on left or right as think it was having a little swizz around yesterday. Oh and see how my massive bump measures up!

GetDownYouWillFall · 03/05/2011 14:22

pippa I am so sorry about your MIL, what an awful shock for you all. Hope you and your DH are ok. I'm sure there are booklets on what to do re. when a relative dies. Try the CAB. I'm sure they'd be able to help you. I seem to remember there was a lot to do when my grandparents died. Take it one day at a time, you can only do what you can do in any given day. And I guess you are back at school now anyway. Try not to get stressed out by it all. Have you had your 20wk scan yet?

mouse Sad re. the retained products. Are you having an ERPC? How horrible for you, hope it will all get sorted out very soon for you.

spilt yay for reaching the milestone of 24 weeks! Smile Am so pleased for you. Great that you are getting lots of reassuring movements too. I am 20 weeks, can't wait till I get to 24. Somehow just knowing that they are "viable" and have legal status by then is comforting. I was thinking earlier how horrific it is that abortion is still legal at the stage I am at now Sad Have filled in my maternity allowance forms, and have to wait till 26 weeks before I can send them off. The weather is great isn't it! Quite a cool breeze here though.

mrsA tis indeed so sad about madeleine Sad I remember it well as I was pregnant with DD when it happened. Also Alan Johnson that reporter got kidnapped about the same time, and I remember thinking how great it was when he was rescued, but also how sad for the mcanns that their little girl was still missing. I am like you and crying very easily at the moment.

ladyG hope you've managed to get your dr's note and all is set for Greece! Sounds fab. I haven't been abroad since before DD. Hope you have a fantastic time! Any more news on the house move? Have you exchanged yet?

Hi to nix how are you doing my dear?

Also hello to Iwish if you are still there! Also to anyone else I've forgotten

Right I am off to read my Hypnobirthing book that I just got from the library!! Hoping for some tips on how to stay calm.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 03/05/2011 15:42

Thanks Getdown. Hopefully can pick letter up tomorrow. All was well with midwife. Baby head down, bum on left and booting me in right! Stuck a little foot right out at the midwife too - cheeky little one.

We haven't exchanged or anything yet. The surveyor came to do my house on Satuday and the lenders are surveying the new house tomorrow so fingers crossed all goes smoothly. Seem to have to dig out piles of documents for the mortgage etc so hopefully we can get all that sorted before we go away.

You'll be at 24 weeks before you know it. I know what you mean on the abortion issue - I was very pro-choice before having children and still am to an extent but think the current rules (i.e. 24 weeks) are just plain wrong unless the baby is very, very ill Sad

spilttheteaagain · 03/05/2011 17:24

pippa I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL, and so sorry for your DH too. What a horrible horrible shock and loss, and so much to now try to deal with. When my gran died my dad managed to get a couple of books from the library that talked through probate and dealing with estates and stuff. I can ask him if he remembers the title if it would help? Love to you and yours xx

mouse how rubbish for you Sad. Awful that such a hard experience already has been drawn out for so long too in the physical sense. What treatment are you having?

Congratulations to battery, and everything crossed for your little bean. Come and say hello if you see this!

Excellent that your baby is head down Lady. Should s/he stay that way from now on or do they still flip around for a while longer?

Which book have you got GetDown? I enjoyed the Marie Mongan one, but got a bit huffy when it talked about pre birth parenting and how good it was for the babies, and the importance of not being stressed yadda yadda... and thought she's not really taking into account those having a difficult pregnancy who are justifiably stressed and struggle to actively bond with the bump because they are so darn scared of losing it. That aside, a very interesting book which I shall be re reading before too long.

25 working days left!!

Iwish · 03/05/2011 18:26

Hi all!

Sorry I've not been around for a while. I've been v lazy with getting the laptop out and even now I'm on my phone because I can't be bothered lol.
20 week scan for me in 2 weeks! I'm so excited! Can't wait to see my little one again.

hey getdown hope you are ok?! Oooh hypnobirthing book, sounds good. You will be an expert in staying calm once you have finished reading :)

pippa sorry about your MIL, I hope you are keeping well.

Wow split 25 days!! I bet you can't wait to finish. And yey for being 24 weeks :)

ladyg glad all went well with the midwife. And Grin at baby sticking his/her foot out!

mrsa I have been crying at all sorts! Getting upset for no reason too and bursting out crying!! Hope you are ok :)

Waves to nix hope you are ok :)

mouse sorry you have been having a bad time :(. I hope it is all ok soon x

battery yey for your bfp - be a sticky bean :)

I really hope I havnt missed anyone, took me ages to write this lol!

batteryhen · 03/05/2011 19:30

split thank you for your message and encouraging me to come over and say hi.

I got my bfp about 10 days ago so am about 5 1/2 weeks. I had some spotting on sunday which freaked me out, so I have had my bloods done today and have been booked for a scan on friday ( very nervous) However, I have temped for the past few days and it still seems high and no major drops.

It's so lovely to read about you all, I dropped off the charters thread for a while as I found I knew less and less people, so it is so nice to recognise names over here :) xxx

Iwish · 03/05/2011 20:27

Welcome battery! Sit yourself down on one of our comfy beanbags :) How are you feeling? I bet the spotting did freak you out but Im sure you will be happy and see your little bean on Friday. Will be keeping everything crossed for a sticky one for you xx

GetDownYouWillFall · 03/05/2011 20:30

Lovely to see you again batteryhen, some of us have become Facebook friends now, if you want to join just private message people Smile

I know the spotting is hideously worrying. It is encouraging your temps are still high though. Also the scan will hopefully give you an answer one way or the other. Will be thinking of you on friday. Remember that either way, there is nothing you can do to influence the outcome at this stage, so just try to relax hard as it is.

spilt I've got the Marie Mongan book too, just called "hypnobirthing". Haven't got very far yet, but I see what you mean re. not acknowledging people that have been through very worrying scenarios previously. Bit more difficult to relax when you know more about what can go wrong sometimes.

Still, I am hoping to pick up a few tips. A friend of mine used hypnobirthing for her first and she didn't even need any pain relief Shock !!!

MrsP81 · 03/05/2011 20:55

Hello all!

You've been quite a chatty bunch over the weekend. Smile

Really sorry to hear about your MIL pippa. Sad Thinking of you and your DH.

I hope you have a fabulous holiday LadyG!

Nice to see you iwish, glad that everything is going well. And welcome battery! Grin

I have now registered with the doctors where I live and I can't believe how helpful they were, especially compared to my previous very unhelpful doctors. So I'm finally booked in for some blood to be taken and I've got my 16 week MW appointment booked too. It is SUCH a relief to have caught up to where I'm meant to be.

I'm a zero alcohol girl at the moment but the temptation of a glass of red with my Sunday roast may win in the end!

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned. X

Iwish · 03/05/2011 21:32

Hey MrsP!

Hope you are ok?
Glad you are in at your docs and that they are much more helpful.
I had my 16 week appt last week (at 17 weeks lol) and it was lovely to hear bubbas heartbeat, you will love it!

I've not had alcohol since before bubba was conceived. Never really drink tho. Think I got bored of it when i got to legal age lol!!

spilttheteaagain · 03/05/2011 21:56

battery lovely to see you Smile

I've just stalked your chart (still got the links in my bookmarks!) and see you're hopefully having a New Year's baby, what a lovely way to start 2012 that would be. Very best of luck for the scan on Friday, high temps all sounds very promising. Are you getting any extra treatment or checks because of your history? Just asking because early scan and bloods seems very on the ball for the NHS otherwise! Hope the sickness is manageable x

Hi iwish, long time no see. How are you feeling, apart from knackered? Any flutters yet?

MrsP great that you've found an organised bunch of doctors, long may it last!

I've just weighed myself and to my delight found that I've now put on about 10/11lbs overall so I feel like I must have a proper bump, rather than a mysterious hollow baby Grin. Also measured my waistline (inspired by one of the pregnancy threads) and am pleased to report definite expansion. Am now 35.5" round, normally size 10 so presumably used to be 28-30" or thereabouts.

AND as if that wasn't fun enough I have discovered the cure for constipation! Eat 2 kiwis a day everyday. Magic. And such blessed relief Grin

mousebacon · 03/05/2011 22:20

Hi again ladies, My most recent loss was a mmc in jan and I had an erpc. A few weeks later I had to have another erpc as the other one had failed an then, a week later, I had a massive, spontaneous bleed at home and was rushed back to hospital. Sad They realised I still had retained products so I had medical management but it didn't work. So, here I am 6 weeks later waiting for AF. I've got another scan tomorrow so fingers crossed I get some good news!

It's so lovely to see you all progressing nicely. The charters thread was a lovely place to be Smile

Iwish · 04/05/2011 08:11

Hi Split I'm good thanks. The tiredness is wearing off a little but I have just almost 2 weeks off work hehe. Not felt any definite flutters yet but can't wait till I do.
I had a look on your profile and you have a lovely bump :)
Well looks like I'm off to get kiwis! Sick of having constipation Blush

mouse I hope your scan goes ok today and that you get the good news you want x

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 04/05/2011 09:26

Just popping in to say big congrats to battery and fingers crossed to mouse for her scan. Hope you can get back on the SWI wagon asap and find some answers.
Feel like crap atm, hoping that's a good sign. 12w today by my calcs. Have nuchal scan a week on Sat, so we'll see if my dates are accurate.

batteryhen · 04/05/2011 10:30

Morning again :)

felt well enough to go to work today, then had a bit of spotting so got in the car and drove home again. My dr has signed me off until my scan on friday. I am so worried but what will happen will happen and no amount of worrying will change that I suppose.

split Yes my due date would be new years eve :) fingers crossed it works out ok. I have changed hospitals since my last MMCs. I found the attitude of my first hospital was very much ' take a number and get in line'. My dr referred me to another hospital a bit further away and they have taken me on. They wanted me to have an eraly scan as I need to start on my blood thining jabs as soon as I see a heart beat. They seem to be a lot better so far.

I am going to sit on my sofa and go wibble for the next few days. Symptoms are not as bad today either.More worry.

Big wave to all and good luck to mouse today for her scan
