Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Lady, aren't palpitations a sign of having an OVER active thyroid? When did you last have your bloods checked?

LadyGoneGaga · 18/04/2011 07:27

Had bloods done last week, Bessie and Nix. Going to see the Consultant today so will get blood results and ask them about it. I read on t'internet is to do with all the increased blood volume in pregnancy making heart go a bit racey sometimes. Bit weird as I ran a marathon last year and therefore had a really low heart rate (about 50) before. Not now!!!

Got to ask about this infernal itching/restless legs in the evenings as well. I have to go to bed at 10 because I just can't keep my legs still/ants in pants feeling and it annoys me so much i just have to go and sleep. Doesn't bother me during day.

Apart from that (and my dicky pelvis) i feel great!

nickstermum · 18/04/2011 12:17

lady have they checked you for colistacies? (sp??) the liver condition? Mind you i think thats itching all over/hands etc...

Maybe the restlessness is to do with the increased blood volume.

I cannot sleep at the min.... even surrounded in tons of pillows I am up and about... driving me mad!! Roll on the next 16 weeks Grin

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/04/2011 15:28

LadyG I get restless leg syndrome too and part of the diagnosis is that it is experienced in the evenings not during the day. It is more common in pregnancy, and can also be linked to having low iron levels. Do you know if your iron levels are ok?

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 18/04/2011 16:56

Thanks, Getdown. They didn't check my iron this time, only thyroid function. I think they'll check my iron levels at next midwife appt in couple of weeks. I do have some iron tabs prescribed from after the mc so migth take some anyway. Seem to remember having similar in last pregnancy - it's just really annoying!!!

So I had a growth scan today and baby is fine! Growing lovely and no concerns so only have to do one more hospital check at 34 weeks (no scan though) and then they will refer me back to midwife led care. Whoopee!

My thyroid levels were ok. Doctor thinks palpitations are ok too (and not thyroid related) but if they get worse then he can refer me to a cardiologist.

The other good news is that we have had an offer accepted on a house. So all being well we should be moving into our new place in June (when I will be 34 weeks pregnant - eek!!!). Will be lovely to have more space though. Has a garage to store all our crap and will have a spare room.

Hope everyone else is well and Nix gets some sleep soon xxx

spilttheteaagain · 18/04/2011 18:49

Excellent scan news Lady, hope you got a nice view/pictures. And congratulations on your new house! If I was you I would definitely be booking removals people to do all the packing and unpacking...

Sorry your sleep is rubbish nix. I am knackered too - combination of vivid dreams, waking up a lot, peeing, thirst and being a bit uncomfortable. I growled this morning when I had to get up Blush. Still, 32 more working days Grin

terrys is live and well, I snooped and saw her on the November AN thread. Happy birthday to your DS terrys! Come and say hello to us, we miss you Smile

And what's happened to MrsA, pippa and iwish??

Baby spilt has been very busy today. Not sure what she's up to but it's been the most kicky day yet and she was awake a lot more than usual. Very comforting. It makes me giggle to be sat in work with a baby wriggling inside me. Though she decided to turn around completely when I was driving home, and Shock it was uncomfortable... and will only get more so as she gets bigger! Hard to drive with that going on!

You ok GetDown?

Hope that baby comes out soon bessie, must be getting very frustrating.

nickstermum · 18/04/2011 20:05

Same here spilt, thirst constant peeing, uncomfy, too hot, cant sleep on side keep waking up on back, even with a pillow shoved into my crotch it hurts to shut my legs!! GAH!

I have a head cold and feel grotty - bah ...but packing for hols and sunshine is forecast whoop! two more hideous days then i can skive thursday and finish packing etc....

Babynix was a wriggling beastie over the weekend then i frightened myself last night. I must have had a bit of a temp/cold/couldnt get warm last night so had a bath... but am convinced it was too hot! So of course... woke in the night feeling no movement convinced i had boiled the bean in the bag Hmm then finally felt something about 11am... its just gone veyr veyr low again and keeps booting me in the fanny Blush...urm since then been veyr busy - just veyr low down!!

Fab for the movement spilt and Whoop for the scannage Lady Grin and the palpitations. hope they chill out a bit for you xxx

OK so i think i really shouldnt have eaten SIX chomps earlier..... Blush

TerrysNo2 · 19/04/2011 10:16

Happy birthday to my DS?!?! spilt you must be confused!! His birthday is in November - a week after this one is due!

I haven't had much time to MN recently, and my AN thread is so fast. We have been buying a new car as ours was a bit small for all the bumpf as we have to travel a long way to visit family. But we have one now, a nice VW Tiguan, and I love it!

I'm so happy you are feeling lots of movements spilt it must be so reassuring for you.

MrsA is over in November too so I think she's fine.

LadyG yay for great scan, never have we wanted to be "just normal" so much! House move sounds stressful exciting Grin.

Six chomps nix that is impressive, you can rationalise it by saying it was 3 for you and 3 for baby!! Smile

I get restless leg too GetDown and LadyG although not so far in this pregnancy. I get it even when I'm not pregnant, its not overly painful but I can't sleep when I have it.

12 week scan on thursday!!!

GetDownYouWillFall · 19/04/2011 21:00

Hi all

Thanks for asking after me spilt. Have been feeling a bit low if I'm honest Sad Just seem to be really emotional about everything. e.g. a friend that hasn't got in contact, falling out with my mum. Then this evening I have been in tears because DH didn't notice I de-scaled the shower Hmm How pathetic am I? I am also feeling a bit lacking in confidence and wondering if it's related to giving up work. I don't know. Maybe it's the hormones. Hopefully I will pick up again soon.

Hope everyone else is ok.

On the positive side, got my 20 week scan a week today, and have been feeling some little movements when I sit down for a bit.

xx

OP posts:
nickstermum · 19/04/2011 21:10

Oh sweetie :( hope you are ok. Not working is a big change, you also have raging hormones... and can i just say your DH is normal!!! Mine wouldnt notice if i cut my hair or shaved my fanjo!! Dont worry about that... Grin but def not pathetic Grin. Your friend doesnt know what shes missing and you will make it up with your mum(?) was it a minor thing?

FWIW my oldest friend doesnt know i am pg either... she has just lost interest. She never ever makes an effort with me, never really contacted me after i MC nor ever returns my calls so ive given up. Its on bookface and if she wanted to get in touch she would see i am diffed... i find it quite upsetting but if she wants to be like that so be it.

you are nearly 20 weeks pregnant, and feeling movements YEY !!! Grin

lovely xx

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/04/2011 08:26

Thanks nix you've made me feel a bit better. I think with my friend I feel upset because she lives at the end of my road (2 mins walk), we are both due babies within about 10 days of each other - i.e. loads to talk about, loads in common etc. We used to meet up a lot (at least once a week), but since about October last year she has pretty much cancelled every time we've had an arrangement. Sometimes it's been when she's been ill which is fair enough, but other times I know it's because she's just had a better offer.

Also on FB she put that she's lost numbers from her phone - she has asked people to text her their numbers but she hasn't asked me Sad I thought we were supposed to be good friends, but it seems not. I sent her a message on FB just asking if she wanted to meet up sometime but she's not replied.

I know sometimes you have to let friendships go, but this one just seems so strange I can't work it out.

Sorry to hear your oldest friend has snubbed you - that must hurt. I think sometimes we just have to be grateful for the friends that really care about us, and move on from the ones that don't. For our own mental well being!

Anyway I am feeling a bit more cheery today, and determined to enjoy the day! Hope you have a lovely day too.
xx

Hello all sorry to be a stranger. Been lurking, work very busy and been doing lots of research on home births so I can fight my corner when the consultant refuses me one.
'Thanks but I'm having my baby at home' (said confidently!)

So.....had booking in on Monday. All OK, lots of blood taken. bp up slightly but I got pg induced hypertension last time so to be expected. The mw said if we can keep it under control, then the home birth is more likely.

Then today I had my dating scan. Based on my LMP, I am 11 weeks today. based on FF and charting, I am 10 weeks today.

The scan said I am 9 weeks today! WTF!!

The really really great news is all is OK, heartbeat clear and strong, only one baby and it was jiggling about on the screen. I asked about the growth cos I thought I was 10 weeks (she said yes dera but you don't know when you conceived in your cycle - couldn't be bothered explaining yes, i do to within a day or so)They said that's fine now till 20 weeks. I have a private nuchal scan booked for when I'm supposed to be 12.5 weeks but think I'll have to change the date.

So, ladies who are in the know about these things, is it possible that I conceived a week later that I thought. How is this possible?
Can I ask you to take a look at my pg chart here cos I am now fretting about when i could have ov/conceived or is the baby just small for dates.
I can't ask my lovely antenatal thread cos most don't chart.

Am I wrong in my ov date? Even if I was out by a few days, surely a whole week is a different matter?!

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/04/2011 16:21

Hi there MrsA glad to haer youve had your scan and it showed a healthy wiggling bean!

Try not to stress too much about sizes / dates. My scan dates have consistently different from my dates according to my chart - they did with DD too. I think when the bean is very tiny, there can be a lot of margin for error, only a millimetre can make a difference. Also if they curl up a bit or stretch out, that makes a bit difference too.

Looking at your chart, I doubt you ov'd later than you thought - you'd never have got a BFP as early as 7DPO.

The main thing is the healthy strong heartbeat and that should tell you that all is well! Am really pleased for you!

spilttheteaagain · 20/04/2011 19:23

Sorry terrys, that'll teach me to skim read other people's AN threads... must have confused you with someone else! New car must be nice Smile Very best of luck for your scan tomorrow x

MrsA congratulations on your scan and seeing a little person wriggling. Lovely moment. Datewise, I know they say that all babies develop at the same rate at this stage but annecdotally (i.e. what I have read on MN!) this isn't true. Lots of people reckon their babies were a bit slow for a bit and then suddenly caught up, or miles ahead and then seemed to slow down. I seem to grow them very fast up to about 10-11 weeks and have been dated a week ahead at this point with both pregnancies. Then 2 weeks later this one was back in line with my dates (bar 1 day). So I wouldn't worry. Your ovulation date looks right to me - you couldn't have got a BFP much sooner than 10dpo anyway. As GetDown says, you have seen a wriggler with a heartbeat and that is the important thing. The scan reports I got at 10 and 12 weeks both stated an error margin of +- 5 days too.

Sorry you are having a hard time GetDown. It's miserable when you can't shake the lowness/feeling vulnerable. Hope today has been a better day.

I am umming and aahing muchly about the old bookface. I used it 4 years ago at university but have only looged in for a bit of snooping a couple of times a year since, not updated anything. Now I kind of want to, but there's too much that's happened. I've had and lost a child and am 22+3 with my second. I feel weird about announcing this one if I don't include Bobbie, it feels like betraying her. But I cannot accept congratulations on my "first" pregnancy from all those old uni friends who don't know about her. So I continue to procrastinate. I would quite like to let the world know our news really. But then I know how upset I was to see a pg announced on facebook when we had just newly lost Bobbie and I don't want to unwittingly do that to someone else. Certainly will not be posting scan pics as someone else's scan pics are supremely upsetting to see if you've just lost.
And I would like to add you lot so I can see what you all look like Grin but am shy to let you see my twatty uni pictures!

Is anyone else an eating MACHINE just now??

spilttheteaagain · 20/04/2011 20:30

I've just ordered my first maternity tops Grin Now I feel pregnant.

Tip in case anyone's interested - New Look have free delivery until midnight. (I have rather taken to them for cheap mat wear - love the £16 jeans!)

spilttheteaagain · 20/04/2011 20:34

Excitement all round - I've just done some stalking and bessie is contracting every 5 mins. Good luck!!

nickstermum · 21/04/2011 09:44

Spilt you donut....twatty old uni pics.....?!?!?!? You should see the state of me now at age 34..nearly 35..you would probably be horrified...

Catch up later, have some work to do before finishing for easter hols, and the car to finish packing up - whoop on hols tonight.... wish me luck for a very long journey, with everyone else on the motorway heading off for easter xx

TerrysNo2 · 21/04/2011 11:01

spilttheteaagain · 22/04/2011 10:21

ooh enjoy your picnic in the sun MrsA, looks nice out there (says she surveying the world with a cup of tea and still in her pyjamas).

I also feel I ought to point out that my profile pic was taken about 5 years ago and I am no longer quite so fresh faced and youthful looking!

Take care lady. You know where we all are if it's a hard day x

nickstermum · 24/04/2011 07:46

Waves from the seaside... Happy Easter... and hope all the bumps enjoy the chocolate xxx
