Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Oooh, hello Getdown. I just spotted this. How's it going? Do we need a list?

Hellooooo! I'm on day 1 of knowing I'm pregnant and am so scared it'll end badly like last time. Fingers crossed...

30th September, Pippaandpolly, Age 27, 1MC

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/01/2011 13:09

Congratulations Pippa! I know just how you feel, having had a MC before too.

It's so nerve wracking. I have already bought a pack of CD digitals to check my HCG is rising Blush which I know is ridiculous.

Just desperate for some reassurance it will be ok this time.

However, I was comforted slightly by reading that chance of two MCs in a row is something like 2%. So very unlikely. How are you feeling, any symptoms???

Lady I seem to remember you went for an 8 week scan - was this private? how much did it cost? Am thinking about it but know it won't actually change the outcome, but would give me some reassurance. I haven't had any bbleeding at all which is good, but worry about missed MC where you can still have all the symptoms.

OP posts:
Pippaandpolly · 18/01/2011 13:50

That's a good idea GetDown - I hadn't thought of using the digis to check...I might do the same. Even though it will drive me mad, I think it will be worse not knowing. I haven't got any symptoms at all (well, I feel nauseous when I think about whether I feel nauseous, but I don't think it's real!) apart from my boobs being really heavy. I wish I felt sick or something.

That's a good statistic about 2 MCs in a row - fingers crossed for all of us...

LadyGaga I'm interested in your scan too - was it reassuring?

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/01/2011 16:48

beware the digi sticks though polly they can lead to severe obsessiveness! And aren't entirely accurate anyway. I guess I just wanted to know my HCG levels were rising.

I think it's perfectly normal to not have nausea at this stage. And even if you do have it, it;s normal for it to come and go a bit.

It's hard to know what to do re. the private scan isn't it?

spilttheteaagain · 18/01/2011 16:56

Excellent idea GetDown, I am getting totally lost in the August AN thread, it moves so fast so will be lovely to have a quieter one here and keep up with all of you. We'll have to go hunting for mouse and nix Smile

Congratulations pippa that's fab Grin

I have got a private scan booked for Tuesday next week so I can let you know what it's like afterwards. £60 for this one, though most I saw were more like £90 in this area (South West ish)

So, the list in due date order:

24th July LadyGoneGaga Age 32, 1DS 1mc
21st August spilttheteaagain, Age 25, 1DD born too soon
17th Sep GetDownYouWillFall Age 31, 1DD 1MC

newyearsday · 18/01/2011 17:11

Hello charters old & new! And congratulations everyone!

I got pg on the Charters Vol 2 board after 18mths ttc, I still lurk and occasionally post, I like to keep up with how everyone is getting along there.

I didn't really find a home in antenatal cos the month due boards move so fast I couldn't keep up. Anyway, it's nice to join some familiar peeps here so thanks for starting an antenatal thread.

I'm 24+2 and feeling on top of the world!

Pippaandpolly · 18/01/2011 18:19

Have just realised that my 'offical' due date is 22 September. FF says that from ovulation it's 30th. I don't know which is more accurate?

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/01/2011 18:26

Yay for spilt and newyearsday. I'm really glad to have found a friendly place to share with others on the ante natal journey (not that the other threads aren't friendly, just as you say, they move so fast, and lovely to see some familiar "faces").

Hope nix and mouse and ladybee and any other pg charters find us soon!

How are you doing spilt? Hope the sickness is not too unbearable and you're not having to have your head down the work toilets anymore (yuk)

Newyearsday - wow a boy Grin Grin Grin that's fantastic - congratulations! You must be soooo excited! How have you found the pg so far?

I had a really crappy day at work, basically made an error that wasn't my fault (acted on someone else's instructions) and got a bit of a telling off (not a bad one, just enough to make me feel really down and fed up). Plus I am waiting to hear on my voluntary redundancy but I suspect my boss will not let me go within the timeframe for the enhanced offer, so I will lose money Sad

Don't know whether to just hold on for maternity leave now.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 18/01/2011 18:42

You can start ML from 29 weeks if that helps GetDown and you can take your full A/L beforehand if you want if you really can't stand it!

Sickness is definitely receeding and has not been as bad this time as last time. I'm only being sick about 3 times a week now, still very nauseous in the early mornings but it's better after breakfast.

My boobs suddenly grew in the last week and my stomach pops out a bit after dinner which is nice Smile

On the crap side my hips/pelvis are giving me jip already which is rather depressing this early on. It's not particularly bad yet, more achy than painful, but obviously will only get worse. Ho hum.

NewYearsDay lovely to see you again. I can't believe how fast your pregnancy has gone. You were only about 9 weeks when I lost Bobbie and all the time since then is a blur and a weird fog. I can't remember a single thing about October and November after she was born. No idea what I did with those 6 weeks at home. Cry and stare at the wall and MN I expect. And get pregnant Blush

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/01/2011 18:46

thanks spilt yes I think if I am turned down for VR I will be using all my A/L and leaving for mat leave as SOON as I can! They don't even know I am pg at work yet, so will relish telling them when the time comes, and saying, so ta-ta then!!

Glad your sickness is easing, but it does still sound pretty bad. Well done for surviving. Sorry about your achy hips and pelvis. Have you thought about doing pregnancy yoga or something like that to help ease up the muscles?

I think I'd like to try and do it as I get really stiff and achey too.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 18/01/2011 20:26

I had an early scan at 8 weeks privately. It cost £60 and was totally worth it. Really, really reassuring. I also used internet cheapy tests and peed on them every two days to watch them go darker. Nutter.

Sorry you're having horrible work issues, Getdown - you don't need the stress right now.

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/01/2011 21:20

Thanks Lady wow £60 seems quite good. The cheapest place I can find round here starts at £95 and some of them go up to £150 Shock!! You start to feel a bit cynical about the whole industry surrounding babies and pregnancy, when you see all the offers of DVDs, printed records of your scans etc Hmm and you just see the £££££ rolling in.

But I would quite like the reassurance. Don't know if DH would be up for it though.

OP posts:
Pippaandpolly · 19/01/2011 08:19

Here's something odd. I did a digi today and it said 2-3 weeks, but I'm only on 12dpo. I'm pretty certain about when I ovulated. How could I possibly have conceived before I ovulated!? Or...does this mean some kind of problem?

Pippaandpolly · 19/01/2011 08:21

Got to be day 23 right?

spilttheteaagain · 19/01/2011 08:29

maybe there's two in there pippa!Grin

GetDownYouWillFall · 19/01/2011 08:54

Ooooooh pippa !! Grin Can indicate twins (not necessarily though)

OP posts:
Pippaandpolly · 19/01/2011 10:04

Shock Now THAT had not occurred to me!

spilttheteaagain · 19/01/2011 10:16

seriously though, day 23 looks right to me, and at 12dpo you are almost 2 weeks past conception and the CB are not always going to get it dead right as there is a massive range of normal HCG values, so I wouldn't worry! It's a good sign though that your HCG is on the rise.

spilttheteaagain · 19/01/2011 10:17

I am having a lovely day off. Still in bed in my pjs Smile

LadyGoneGaga · 19/01/2011 10:51

Jealous, Spilt Envy.

Pippaandpolly · 19/01/2011 11:00

The challenge is not to get out of your pjs all day. My favourite kind of day involves slippers and day time tv! (Not that it happens often, but it's amazing how addictive rubbish like the Gilmore Girls can be...)

spilttheteaagain · 19/01/2011 16:37

Failed! Dressed and been to the shops by 12. But I did then watch One Born Every Minute with my lunch and then sleep for an hour on the sofa with a pile of cats on me. This week's OBEM was fab!
I am looking forward to birth if I get that far...
