Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

spilttheteaagain · 11/05/2011 20:12

I've got 10 weeks off Blush. I'll stop work at 30 weeks, have 3 weeks annual leave and then go on to mat leave at 33 weeks. I might have worked a couple more weeks but I had no choice about the annual leave part as our holiday year finishes at the end of June. Couldn't see any point in leaving for 3 weeks, going back for 2 and then going off again. And we're about 85% sure I will be resigning at the other end anyway.
Once I'm off I will start the pram/car seat/cot etc quest Confused

I find busy days mean I miss a lot of the movement. Can you sit down for a bit this evening (in front of the TV?) and see what you feel then?

GetDownYouWillFall · 11/05/2011 20:16

Don't be embarrassed about the time off - enjoy it! DD actually came 2 weeks early so I would have had 6 weeks before if she'd come on time.

It is a lovely time - can potter round the shops and do stuff knowing that everyone else is at work Grin Also good to just rest during that time.

I have been sitting down for about 20mins now and not felt anything..... hmmm. Wake up baby!

spilttheteaagain · 11/05/2011 20:21

Horrible when they tease you like that, hope s/he wakes up soon. You're about 21 weeks aren't you? I found that quite a tough time as the baby was still little enough that she could get into positions where I couldn't feel anything at all and then stay there for most of a day.

I'm not particularly embarrassed about the time off, but I do feel like a bit of a fraud at work as loads of people haven't even noticed I am pregnant and I'm starting to say "I'm leaving in 4.5 weeks" "Really, why?" "I'm going on maternity leave" .... "Shock" You can see the cogs whirring Grin

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 11/05/2011 21:02

Ah split just tell em you have a very neat, prefectly formed bump! My best friend was 9 months and still didn't look pg - she carried it all to the side.

And if we're talking about prams, i get no commission but I LOVE my iCandy and will be using it for this one. If you want any more info, i could chat for hours about prams.

ravenlocks · 12/05/2011 18:20

Hi everyone. I was having a lurk, first time I have been back since most recent mc. Wanted to give you all a quick wave and say thanks for lovely messages when I left and great to see you all getting on so well!

XXXXXXX

spilttheteaagain · 12/05/2011 18:30

Lovely to hear from you raven. How are things with you? Have you had any follow up care/tests or anything?

Thanks MrsA. I am quite compact I think - long torso which means there's a fair bit of "up" room before little un has to go outwards. I said to someone today I was due in August and she was amazed, I think she was expecting me to say October! I'm looking forward to my next scan though just to reassure me that tiddler is measuring ok. When the MW measured my fundal height yesterday it was a little on the small side, but she said my big waistband made it a bit harder to be precise. But nevertheless it's been slightly praying on my mind today. You know how you take tiny scraps of non alarming info and then work yourself into a bit of a fret afterwards?

Ok then, prams! I want one that collapses for going in the boot. I want a decent sized/strength shopping tray underneath. How long do babies lie flat in prams? Do you recommend one that converts to a buggy/carseat etc or just get a pram then a buggy? Don't want a really pricey one if I can help it, but equally this is hopefully not our last baby (planning on another 1-3 depending on finances/DH/how tough this parenting malarky turns out to be Grin)

ravenlocks · 13/05/2011 07:52

Good thanks spilt. I did go to my GP and she wasn't too concerned and thought we had just had rotten luck and that there probably wasn't anythig wrong with either of us. She went on to say how common early mcs are and some women don't even know they have had them and just think it is a late period etc.

She could tell I was very disappointed with this explanation and said she would refer me back to the Consultant obstretician (sp?) whose care I was under when I had my sleeping little boy and would ask her what tests if any should be done before I see her. Haven't heard anything from doc or hosp since.

But tbh I am zen-like about it. We are still trying but are just going to see what happens. I have lots of other things going on in RL to keep me distracted from TTC and haven't returned to charting. I think I am in my LP now after some reasonably timed SWI but have no expectations.

Keep well everyone. I won't barge back in on you til I have my next BFP! X

MrsP81 · 13/05/2011 18:31

Hey everyone. Sorry not been round much AGAIN but we've had no internet thanks to the wonder that is BT. All sorted now though!

Nice to hear from you raven. I'm glad to hear you sounding positive and hope that it pays off soon. Feel free to barge in any time you like. Smile

I think I may have felt baby kick today, although it's hard to be sure. I want it to happen again!

spilttheteaagain · 13/05/2011 20:44

ooh how exciting MrsP! How many weeks are you? It took me about 3 weeks of "maybe" moments before I felt confident it was baby. Lovely feeling.

MrsP81 · 14/05/2011 14:41

I'm 16+4 spilt, so wasn't really expecting to feel anything yet, but it just felt different to the normal gurglings that go on in my stomach!

GetDownYouWillFall · 14/05/2011 20:28

MrsP it could definitely be movements you are feeling. Perfectly possible after 16 weeks. How lovely. Mine is a pickle and is really quiet for ages, then suddenly goes made and has a frenzy of activity!

MrsA I just spotted your scan pic on FB!! Wonderful! Was this your private nuchal scan? How did it go, was the bean measuring ok (I know you were worried it may be measuring small?)

Congrats, wonderful to be able to announce to the world now xx

spilttheteaagain · 15/05/2011 15:40

Some lovely bump and scan pics on FB girls, congratulations to all!

I am 26 weeks Shock Amazing.

GetDownYouWillFall · 15/05/2011 18:37

26 weeks spilt Grin That's so brilliant. Still remember on the Charters thread when you did that test and got the BFP and we were all Shock Shock Shock.

I remember with DD getting to 30 weeks and the last 10 weeks totally flew by. You will have your little girl in your arms before you know it!

I am 22 weeks now. Got the usual slightly inappropriate verging on rude comments this morning at church "you are getting enormous" and "that baby is certainly growing in there!" Well, yes, I hope so! I don't mind the comments though, I actually quite like my bump!

DD took a pic of me when we were out yesterday at a children;s farm, have put it as my FB photo Smile

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/05/2011 20:28

Thanks for the kind messages about my scan pic. Yes, it was my private nuchal scan so they did the standard scans and measurements then did a free 4D scan as well which was amazing. Did the job as we're now tempted to go back for a 4D gender scan!
The nuchal measurement was so slim she could barely measure it and she could also see a nasal bone, a good sign. Downside was they tried 3 times to get my blood (including one attempt in the back of my hand which was bloody painful - sonographer kept saying 'think of the baby' as I was doing deep breaths a la labour!) but they failed so I now have to dash to my GP tomorrow and hope the practice nurse can take my blood tomorrow morning as it needs sending special delivery (as my cost I might add) to the lab by Tuesday. Hmm

We were kept waiting an hour for our scan too so at first were not impressed, as i was about to wet myself but then we found out it was because the first scan of the day was unexpected twins, which bumped everyone else back! The sonographer was also one of the head women at Royal Liverpool maternity which has a seriously good reputation, so we were then a bit more reassured!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/05/2011 20:46

Oh btw, dating scan had me as 12w+3d on Sat, my ov charts had me as 13w+3d and the scan dated me at 12w+6d, so about 3 days ahead of first scan and 4 days behind ov charts. Looking at my chart again, I could have ov on the Saturday rather than the Wed, so I'm thinking that I'm 13w today and a due date of 20 nov (DD was due 20 Sept!). If NHS has me a few days later that's good cos less pressure if baby is late!

nickstermum · 17/05/2011 07:26

hello everybody... how are we all doing? Apols for absence... been away with DH for the weekend and before that up to my eye balls in getting house de-cluttered ready for photos and SALE! plus also having to deal with THE single most difficult customer ever.... meaning my work time has increased and stress levels have escalated!! Mat leave dates agreed for July 4th (35 weeks) although no sign yet of a risk assessment or a replacement whom they have to recruit.

Other than that all good here... 28+2 so happy to have reached that milestone. Wriggling continues... although position is questionable as its all down below (Fanjo bladder kicks) which leads me to think transverse/snail like position just like his/her brother. Plenty of time for manouvre so will see...

Hope everyone is fab and enjoying the bumps that are starting to emerge...

Getdown great bump... Spilt we have yet to see yours???? :) YEY for 26 weeks honey, the milestones are romping away now arent they.. soon be due dates...... !! Lady hope you are having a wonderful holiday and getting all the rest and sunshine you want.

See you soonxx

newyearsday · 17/05/2011 12:16

Hi all,

I'm 40+9 now and the talk about induction has started Shock, yet according to my chart I'm only 40+2, so we're going to kick-back as long as we can against drug-induced induction.

Every night I'm woken with regular pains and contractions but it always tails off and I get back to sleep. I was hoping to have a sweep yesterday to get things going but MW let me down cos she had to cover someone else's clinic, so she'll do one tomorrow. Then I'll be given an appointment at the hospital for Friday (40+12 or by my chart 40+5) to be induced!

It's all a bit confusing and noone is really listening to us but we're both confident I OVed a week later than the dating scan EDD showed so we'll hold off as long as possible. I'll let you know what happens cos I know others are in the same boat.

Come on baby!!!

xx

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/05/2011 14:48

newyear fingers crossed baby gets a move on but don't forget, no one can force you to do anything. You are perfectly entitled to simply say thanks but no thanks (or just don't turn up at the induction appt).

Let us know how you get on.

newyearsday · 17/05/2011 15:18

thanks mrsa that's our plan at the moment, to not attend the hospital appointment.

split we've got the 'Oyster' pushchair and carry cot, and a Maxicosi car seat and isofix base. It's a travel system but really simple to use, works for short me and tall DH, and has a smaller footprint than most to fit through our front door and in our small car. We chose it all in Kiddicare but bought the pushchair, carry cot and isofix base 2nd hand on Ebay, saving more than 50%. John Lewis were the cheapest for the Maxicosi car seat. Have fun!

spilttheteaagain · 17/05/2011 20:57

nix just for you I've put bump pics on my MN profile Smile Yours is looking lovely, gorgeous photos of you and DS by the sea.

It occurred to me that Lady is over 30 weeks now! Congratulations and hope you are having a lovely time in the sun.

newyears bugger about the pressure for induction. I dreaded that with Bobbie as the hospital had my dates a week out for her. I believe that if you want to refuse induction you can request instead "expectant monitoring" where they have you in every day/every other day and do a doppler scan to check the placenta is all functioning ok still. Then if there's any concerns you know the induction is legitimate, but if all is well it should reassure them and you that you can afford to wait. Maybe post in pregnancy/childbirth and see if anyone can tell you anymore?
Good luck whatever you decide, may that baby decide to come out pretty soon!

I am getting terrible backache now, especially when sitting at my desk and at night, but weirdly it's on the righthand side and quite high up (think back of shoulder blade type area). Anyone got any tips??

Iwish · 18/05/2011 15:52

Hi all! I'm back again after yet another brief disappearance. You have all been v busy since I was last on here.

Hope you are all ok?

Had my 20 week scan today and we are having a little boy!! Grin

spilttheteaagain · 18/05/2011 17:17

Congratulations Iwish! Grin How exciting! Now you can start the names talk...

Iwish · 18/05/2011 18:41

Oooh yeh! We have already picked our name! Talk about keep lol. Joshua Peter. Have you picked any names split?
I have put our latest scan pic on my profile. Been and bought his very first outfit so that's on there too hehe! X

spilttheteaagain · 18/05/2011 18:51

Lovely name, I like Josh a lot. We haven't really talked names for a while tbh. She's known as Froggy for now (since in the days of early movements that what it felt like!). Nothing quite feels right yet. Maybe we'll be those people posting on baby names "help, we have to register DD in 2 hours and she still doesn't have a name!"

When we do get her first outfit we'll have to keep it hidden as we're pretending we don't know what we're having yet Grin

28 week scan next Weds. I am looking forward to it. She's been a right little figit these last couple of days, we're loving it.
