I've felt lots of movements this evening, I was sitting in quite a twisted position which is why I think I felt it so much.

I'm so jealous! I want to feel wriggling...

Should we have a stats thread as well? May seem to have one but not sure what you put on it!

You'll start feeling it soon enough Frakkinstein. I've always felt mine early, but then again one of friends didn't feel anything until about 20 weeks. It doesn't seem to be very scientific.

Maybe in the stats list we could put what county we are from? Or is that a bit dull? [hblush]

Well snooping on other threads says other people have name, age, baby number, EDD, city or county (or country!), scan dates, where they're delivering (and how in the case of ELCS)....

That looks like a good format. What shall we call it?

I think separating the stats and the chat is a much more sensible way of doing it as the old one got very unweildy because we were reposting 40 lines of EDDs!

Feeling really miserable at the moment, things getting on top of me; too little sleep, DS1 settling issues at school, DS2 not well with cough/asthma again, DH away a lot. and just this general air of near-depression. i don't like it :(

Maybe it's rooted in the sleep so hopefully i'll get some this weekend when DH is back.

So, struggling to be excited just yet, though i am deep down, but more often worrying what i'm letting myself in for.

Sorry to be on a downer.

It's rough when DHs bugger off and it must be tough enough expecting DC3 without the extra worries. Hopefully you can catch up on sleep this weekend and it will all seem brighter :)

JKS totally understand. Expecting DC3 and know the pluses and minuses. It's not the same as expecting a first. But lack of sleep does make me more likely to worry/be on a downer. Frakkinstein is right, a bit of sleep will probably change things.

My DH works away a lot and DC2 hasn't settled well. If I added in a poorly DC1 I would go crackers right now!!

I keep waking up between 4 and 5am. And I cannot get back to sleep. I only seem to have energy for the bare minimum and the house is a total state!!

But good news, feeling loads of little movements. Is it a bit early for it though - 13 weeks???

Justkeepsqimming perhaps we could meet on mat leave before and / or after? When are you finishing up? I want to try to work for as long as poss as i only have 4 months mat paid (better than some i kno :() and thanks for updating my stats.

Iliketomoveit Congratualtions on your bump and my sincere sympathy for your loss, it's every parents nightmare and I'm sorry it happened to you, I think things like this always happen to the nicest people, thank you for sharing x

LisMa I too am a 'sample person' 5'2" and size 14, don't bother with DP, or Next for jeans or trousers there too long in leg, body and bump space was actually nearer my hips and bottom so, not a good look!

So far I've found Mothercare and Mamas & Papas, jeans and trousers (standard straight leg) fit great and just need taking up a couple of inches, get them from ebay as it will be harder to sell on if you pay top dollar and want some return. Tops I have 2 DP (Dorothy Perkins) raunched side tops they are baggy on the bump, after that funmum.com and for a special occasion you can't beat Tiffanyrose. A good seamstress can alter many dresses especially A line, so if you do want something special, don't just look petites!

Heading for my flu vaccine shot tomorrow am, don't like injections but chatting to my neighbour she's an A&E Doctor she thinks it's a good idea to get this done. Called my GP and they said yes come in they don't offer it as standard but if your pregnant and want it just ask.

Hormones are funny, today my new bed arrived as I had a memory foam bed last year which was great until the last few months it felt hard as bump isn't big enough to make a mark on the foam so it kind of stays solid under bump when I'm on my side which is very uncomfortable.
So new bed arrived, I opened the door to the deliver man and lol burst out crying, he didn't know what to do. Lucky for him my DH was right behind me to help him carry it upstairs and explained I was just happy lol!

Looking for a cot bed that's my new mission.

Felt baby move a few times last week but wasn't sure it was baby, now I know it is and was baby, it's a nice comforting feeling and I can't wait to see the limbs poking up from the bump lol! I like playing guess the limb!

Flu jab done, feeling pretty damn good today although have the attack of the hiccups!

Random question alert!! I've missed the stuff on the flu jab. Should I have this? Is it for swine flu or just the flu jab in general? Sorry - clueless. I don't normally have it and feeling in robust health (miracle!) but is it a baaaaaad idea to swerve it simply because you're too idle to book a doctor's appointment?

Still at the 'small mammal swallowed by boa constrictor' phase and in a bit of a hiatus. Anyone else bored with this bit? It's a long wait from 12 weeks to 20 weeks and my next scan. I'm seeing my consultant at week 18 for the usual chat/conversation/bill. Most of all I'm hoping that at 20 weeks I can find out where the placenta is and rule out this risk of placenta accreta. So far movements are minimal, which makes me think it is an anterior/front placenta. With the girls I had strong movements from 14 weeks as both of their placentas were posterior. I must stop thinking about this...

No sex here at all. Husband too paranoid of 'dislodging' the baby - a hangover from when I was pregnant with the twins and we were worried about harming our precious IVF miracles. Gawd we were hopeless! Plus I feel fat, which is never particularly erotic.

Had my 16-week risk assessment this morning. Have been having fainty fits but feel better today. Heard baby's heartbeat, which was lovely and has cheered me up no end.

I've had the swine flu/normal flu jab. I have the flu jab every year and just can't face the idea of having flu while pregnant. I had normal but full-blown flu a couple of years ago and it was HORRENDOUS. Eugh.

I too feel a bit like the time is dragging. DP is even more impatient and keeps asking 'How many weeks now?' He's always responds to that answer with 'ONLY xx?! sigh You're going to be pregnant forever!'

I haven't been on for a while but thought i'd check in with you all... I am still feeling shattered so my energy burst definately hasn't kicked in! I had a midwife appt yesterday so got to hear baby's heart beat which was nice! I have my 20 week scan on 12th November - I can't wait time seems to be going sooo slow!!

JustKeepSwimming, sleep makes everything better so hang in there until the weekend! I don't know how you do this whole baby-growing thing without DH around, hope you've got family close by to help out if you need it. DH is doubling as my slave at the moment, poor thing

MuffinMouse, I'm doing the 4-5am wake up too. Sucks doesn't it. I don't remember my sleep being messed with this early on last pregnancy. Grrr. I'm not even at the huge and uncomfortable stage yet!

i got my downs risk assesment yesterday, was 1 in 2800.
does anyone know if you can get a 1 in 59'000 result?

Thanks cyclebump - I'll make an appointment. I've had flu once, years ago when I was at uni, and you're right, it's horrendous. I must avoid!

beckie90 I've never heard of such a high result as 1 in 59,000 althogh that could just be ignorance on my part. You can get higher results if you have the extra bloodwork/tests though although I wouldn't expect to see such a huge jump from 1 in 2800 to 1 in 59000 from that alone. For example, when pregnant with the twins my private nuchal scan with the extra blood tests gave me odds of 1:8000 but my NHS nuchal scan, where they didn't do the bloodtests, was 1:2700 or so. I think 1 in 2800 is an excellent result though, especially if you convert it to a percentage which unfortunately I'm feeling too thick to do!

I just got a letter today saying baby is not high risk but no stats.

I declined the extra testing so don't have a number so can't help sorry :)

Caramel - sadly no family close by, my parents live in Devon, my in-laws in Hampshire. But i am used to spending lots of time with the DC on my own for the chunks that DH is away, then he'll home/nearby for a while which is nice, then away again. He's definitely on duty this weekend! (though he told me he's been up late working all week but no sympathy from me i'm afraid!!)

Just got back from a specialist appointment with the hospital team who deal with ladies who have a BMI over 35! I felt a bit like a naughty school girl as was lectured about how I must eat better - so no more cake for me but then I will be told this again at my appointment at the diabetic clinic next week.

I did have to stand on this machine which then told me which bits of my body where larger than others - its quite scary to see it all in writing! They should make everyone stand on one - would help in the losing weight thread I reckon.

But it was all worth it as I got to hear the baby's heartbeat

And I am sure that the funny feelings inside are movements, have been trying to convince myself I was making it up but I'm pretty sure now

Ooooh, I work in medical publishing and am editing a pice saying a study has shown that infants born to flu-vaccinated mothers are less likely to suffer influenza infection in the first six months.

I too have felt the wriggling. Is so exciting. Felt like baby was having a party in there the other night, DP thinks he may have felt something.
